Too often shoe stores now consist of mostly DIY, which I find limits both my knowledge and patience in choosing the best shoe for me. The store I located in the St. Albert Centre and is clean with nice displays. The Running Room carries brand name clothing, shoes, as well as running accessories. They also hold running clinics throughout the year which is a great way to meet people with similar interests and abilities to your own. The St. Albert location is just off the main road (St. Albert trail) beside a 7-11 in a very dated building. As old as the building looks on the outside it feels older on the inside. It is dark and dingy even in the middle of a sunny afternoon. There is also only one change room so if there are multiple people wanting to try clothes on it can take a while. I find that this location has a smaller selection of items than are offered at other stores. I also think they don't get many sizing in for each product, so lots of times items are only available in really really big or really really small. In general I find the items are on the more expensive side; with every clothing item over $50 your money won't go very far. When I was in on the weekend the staff were very unhelpful - there were two young girls who were chatting at the till area while I wandered around for 20+ min. When I approached them about something they answered with the quickest response and pointed to the corner where the items were that I needed. The major positive about this location is the proximity to the Sturgeon River. This is the perfect location for running as all of the gorgeous trails in St. Albert are linked by the one that runs along the river. This gives the running clinics multiple options for trails, adding variety to their programs.

I worked at two different places in the food court, and my best friend worked at 3 different stores. Almost every store had somebody I knew working in it. So... maybe I'm a little biased about it. I will say that this mall absolutely sucked for a while. There were no relevant stores for a long time. I remember when I was much younger and wal mart moved out of this mall up to the newer super centre location, we thought "well.... at least there's still the food court I guess." When Zellers moved in, it was a nice compromise, and we were happy enough with that. Nothing else in the mall was really changing though. Ever. Same old stores. Same kiosks at Christmas time. Nothing new in the food court. The same cannot be said now. First off... despite the addition of a Tim Horton's last month, the food court sucks. It has an A&W, and Orange Julius, and I think the Chinese Food place is still there? There's some kind of Pizza Kone place opening... seems like a strange choice. The Smitty's is gone and that was devastating to me. I said the same thing about Kingsway - I really like to have a restaurant to sit down in when I need a break from shopping. Also... you could get a glass of wine for $2.50 in the lounge! Now, the good. Talk about a facelift. You can't help but notice the changes as you drive down St. Albert Trail. London Drugs and Mark's Work Warehouse now find their new homes on the West Side of the mall, and Winners has moved to this side as well. It looks AMAZING. and the hallway that connects the new area with the old (formerly known as the "Smitty's entrance") is gorgeous with lots of new stores like Stokes, Soft Moc, and La Vie en Rose. And it seems like they are ever growing. The mall was asking on Social Media a few weeks ago what type of local stores we'd like to see. Does it have everything you need? No. But it's getting there.

My tween daughter lives that Ardene's is now giant and in the old Winners location. Best addition was the rethinking of the Primary Care Network here which makes these invaluable mental and physical health resources much more accessible to the public. The food court continues to be utterly disappointing - ever since Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory left, there's not much for me to get excited over. There's quite a few empty or still under renovation spots in the mall as well. I think fellow Yelper, Joy K. accurately portrayed the Black Friday event in her review so I won't go into as much detail but I will say that it was a huge disappointment and they changed the program or the event specifics AFTER tickets had already been sold. There were no special deals for the attendees only and people waited in line more than 30 minutes to get into the roped off area for a glass of sparkling fruit juice, chocolate, charcuterie board, and to fill out the ballots for giveaways. Nothing was as originally advertised and left a really bad taste in my mouth for both the misrepresentation (almost bait & switch) and then the extremely poor customer service. Overall, there's been some positive design updates to St. Albert Centre but there's a lot of room left for improvement. 2 stars on Yelp is described as "Meh, I've experienced better" on their ratings guidelines and that would most definitely be the case here.

Upon coming down, there did not appear to be very many options. After waiting 10 minutes, and not being acknowledged, we left and bought two pairs of boots elsewhere for about 25% less. I was surprised and disappointed at how small this store was in comparison to their other locations. You can order from them online (usually a better price, too). Returns can be made to the store if the shoes aren't what you are looking for. SoftMoc is located in the brand new west wing of St. Albert Centre.

When I went to exchange the boots the saleperson Mykitiuk said the only way to exchange the boots was for her to give me a gift card as there was no cash available. I had no idea that the gift card had no cash value nor did the casher provide me with other options such as coming back when they had cash. Needless to say the boots did not work out and when I tried to get my cash back I was told by the manager Hailey that I'm stuck with the gift card and advised me to call customer service. I could not get through to customer service. St Albert caused this problem yet they refused to help me. I'm now having to be on hold for hours to get through to customer service. This negative experience and the fact that this store has no cash makes it risky for customers making a cash purchase. I feel that the salesgirl trapped me into providing me with a gift card so that I'm stuck with having to buy boots from soft moc.

It's not in an area that I pass by often but I has an appointment nearby and as I was parking I spotted the sign. Luckily I was 20 mins early, giving me the perfect place to kill time! The store is underneath some apartments but tokes over half of the ground level by the looks of it. A fantastic big space, filled from top to bottom with vintage treasures. The owner does a great job creating cute corners highlighting furniture, decor, ornaments and clothing. I immediately wished I had more time to browse! The clothing is divided into rails of amazing dresses from the Victorian era and more. The underskirt section was unreal and made me wanna dress like a steam punk to my meeting. So cool. Lots of eclectic and romantic bits for a vintage wedding. Just wonderful.
