I went into autozone today because I had a few lights pop up on my dash. I read online that they were able to use a code scanner to identify the issue. When I walked in, I explained my situation but the person I was talking with told me very bluntly they could only do it if it was a check engine light. I suppose this was a misunderstanding on my part, even though this is what I read on the website, but this man was very curt and did not help to provide an adequate customer service experience. read more

Called in before stopping in and spoke to Brenda, who over the phone was polite and confirmed all my parts were there and in warranty to be exchanged. Upon getting there, we were instructed by Victoria to "put your stuff here". Not a hi or hello welcome in just that. Let her know we called in for warranty exchange and all of a sudden there were many issues. She was abrasive and rude. For whatever reason me and my girlfriend walking in caused her to judge and treat us horribly. Will never go back there. read more

First time this store which is the closest to where I reside. I'm more in the Advanced Auto Parts which is even closer for me. It's been a long time since hitting up an AZ and it so happen I had stops at two across town from each other same day. The store is on Haygood not far from Independence Blvd. There is adequate parking for the business. Only very minor debris was seen on walk up. I found the exterior in great shape. The only thing that sets auto parts store apart for me is customer service, they are all basically the same. An acknowledgment entering was great. I asked where something was and the clerk came from behind counter and showed me. I ended up not getting anything. The store was clean and well organized. I drove in from out of town needing help with a license plate cover and me being a girl I couldn't figure it out so I stopped here on my way to New York and Kyle made sure that I left with my license plate secured as well as going above and beyond to find everything I needed. Sunday visited this location with a dead battery, Kyle was the one that helped me out. He was knowledgeable, kind and most important honest. This is a great location! I've been shopping here for the last ten years (wow, since I was a teenager!) and it's been a consistent experience every time. The staff are always knowledgeable and helpful beyond compare. The prices always seem fair to me because it beats paying an exorbitant amount of money at an automotive shop. As of late, I have had the misfortune of needing various car supplies, but was fortunate enough to remember this particular shop and its convenient proximity to my daily travels. My most recent visit entailed a purchase of a pair of new windshield wipers. An associate quickly helped me find the ones I needed. Another associate quickly and earnestly offered his help in replacing them. I vehemently declined as I was feeling stubborn and dead set on accomplishing this *minor* feat on my own - like the strong, independent woman I am. But alas, my protests were all for naught because I couldn't get the dang old wiper off the doohickey. After waiting a respectful amount of time *probably* watching me struggle from inside, the kind associate came to my aid. I asked him to walk me through the process and show me exactly how to do it so I could replace the second one on my own. He was patient and effective in his explanation. Again, my independence (read: stubbornness) made me send him off after his demonstration so I could work my magic on the next wiper blade. As I was fussing with it, the manager rounded the corner outside, returning from her break, and offered her help as well. It was refreshing to see a woman in the automotive field for once. But as with the last, I told her I had to do it myself. She insisted on silently staying in case I needed help and I accepted. Once I successfully replaced it in record time (the first time is still a record!), she actually sincerely congratulated me. -- I know it may all sound silly reading this but all of those little interactions really added up to make an otherwise annoying chore an exciting learning experience where I felt supported and genuinely cared for. This was my first visit to AutoZone, which is located on the south side of Haygood Road shortly after driving past Haygood Shopping Center. After several unpleasant experiences with a closer auto parts store on Shore Drive, I was hoping for something better. Thankfully I found success. The store was large, clean and had ample parking. The moment I walked in, a nice young man behind the counter asked if he could help. When I told him what I needed, he walked me directly to a well stocked shelf. Pointing out the item I was seeking, he told me they had two brands that were exactly the same product. One, he said, was $1 less expensive than the other. He saved me money. Customers always remember that. I was in and out of the store in record time. That was important since I was in hurricane preparation mode. AutoZone at Haygood will now be my permanent first choice for the type of product they offer. read more

Stopped in with my son to recycle oil, of course needing an empty pan before doing 2 oil changes. Both counter employees were busy but gave me a head nod and thumbs up when I motioned to the back corner of the store..."first rule of oil change club is there is no oil change club." There was a convenient roll of paper towels on a cart nearby. When I asked if they had high and low ac service port caps and if they were universal, the counter guy told me honestly "I don't know." He did find and suggest a $4 repair kit that came with 3 schrader valves plus high and low caps. Turns out, 1 cap sorta fit and the other doesn't which means they're potentially NOT universal. The spunky, comedic young Hispanic lady ("Jackie"?) that was checking me out actually was checking me out. When I jokingly asked for a nice guy discount, she looked at my wedding ring and said "you're not single, you're married and have a son, there's nothing in this for me." I laughed awkwardly, paid with my credit card and exited quickly just after warning the next customer behind me "good luck!" read more

Truck alternator and batteries went bad during a vacation in VA Beach . These were purchased under warranty, and the process to get them was extremely difficult . The computer system was not " syncing " we were told and they could not find all of the data confirming that our purchases should be under warranty: we had to call Lee in A WV store who was super helpful and trying to help. Needless to say, we had to buy a battery and an alternator and then " return it ." It was end of the month so not sure if they just wanted the sale or what, but my boyfriend had to also install the batteries himself and also the alternator with little help. We had to purchase tools to also use . This all took over three hours just to simply get the parts to drive home 6 hours. The process should have taken less than 30 minutes ( I'm not talking about the install ). Just the transaction took so long because the clerk at the store didn't know how to do the transaction properly . We will have to take care of the warranty situation in WV and are out 600 when we should not have paid anything due to warranty. Not only was it super difficult to even get the parts. We also had no help with install. If you break down and are out of town , don't recommend . Clerk was nice but not helpful at all when it came to the warranty and the program we were supposed to be a part of to make a smooth transaction. read more

The very kind, professional, & knowledgable associate, Micah, diagnosed and changed my battery in less than 15mins! This had to have been the best service I've had at any Auto Zone. Today my mom had stopped by autozone to have her battery checked since her car wouldn't start earlier in the day, it did come back as a bad battery. The employee jumped her battery since she was waiting for a particular employee and didn't want to disturb his lunch break and since she lived so close it was no big deal for her to come back. On her way out of the parking lot into a busy street her car died, leaving her partially in traffic,this is when I received the terrified call from her. She didnt know what to do and couldn't get her car started, in park or out of the way. She called the store and the employees inside rushed out to push her out of traffic and back into the parking lot. I finally get to the store, purchased a new battery for her and Mark and Heidi went out in the freezing rain to install it for her! The employees at this store went way above and beyond for a customer today... Thank you doesn't say how much I appreciate all of you being there for my mom. read more

Was in Haywood Rd store #2008 a month back getting some routine stuff for a used Honda CR-V the wife and I had purchased. Before we got out of Auto-Zone parking lot the check engine light came on, so out and came the O.B.D. reader for a P0420 code (Catalytic Issues) I like theirs cause it does not cost me anything to have them do a fast diagnoses. This problem got resolved in home driveway with a PCV change, propane vacuum leak checks, new DENSO plugs, and a few Eric The Car Guy videos. Light has not returned since. (knock on wood) So approximately a month later I'm buying some air fresheners of all things and the nice lady with black hair asks me how the car is doing, it was REALLY NICE to know that someone in a CHAIN STORE remembered my Wife, me, and CR-V. I got an old school vibe from that Auto Zone today, I hope your experiance is as good as mine. Service with a smile goes a long way these days, Give that girl a raise! read more

Mike at Autozone Haygood is rude and unprofessional. I asked NICELY today if they had a tail light bulb for my daughter's car in stock and they did. I then asked NICELY if he could pop it in for her and he said he would. My daughter then got there and Mike immediately proceeded to lay into my daughter about how I needed to learn how to talk to people and was extremely rude to her making her cry. He put it in and slammed her trunk, not even checking to see if it worked. If he couldn't perform the service, he should have told me. My daughter heard me on the phone and I was not rude about my request. I'll wait for a answer from management as to what is being done regarding this complete lack of professionalism and customer care. But won't hold my breath for a response.
