My 81 year old mother stopped at this store for a battery issue. Advanced sold her a new battery…read morethat retails for $129.95 ( I know because I own a shop in Maryland) But, she had to pay $220.00. When they installed it for her they used a shim on positive connection. My mother never needed a battery she needed a new positive cable connector. Using a shim should have been a clue that it was not the battery. I feel they were extremely dishonest and were clearly taking advantage of a elderly person. Shame on you Advance Auto parts!!

My car was serviced at Mercedes Benz of Alexandria with certified Mercedes mechanics, as to which I was told, there are no mechanical defects nor issues with this car. I went back to have it re-inspected, failed again. At this point, it seems as though this shell is running a fraudulent inspection operation. DONT GO HERE FOR INSPECTION THEY ARE ALL CROOKS. I had them install a particular truck bed cover that not many people have or sell directly in this state. They provided no protest to the idea and made my wish come true. I purchased a set of side steps from them. Why is this worth mentioning? Here's a secret: Certain car dealerships - whom I won't mention here - send their trucks to these guys and end up selling the installed package for about 3-4 times the original price of the equipment. This wasn't a surprise to me because having been in the business myself, I've seen retail markups go up to 100% or higher. Save your money and come here first. I had a Viper alarm/remote start system installed here as well. Here it may sound as a complaint, but since it was an isolated incident among the other times I have had my truck serviced here, I will let it pass. I had to come to Trick Trucks twice for this install. The second time was on a tow truck! My truck was serviced and fixed back to how it was supposed to run in no time. In conclusion, I will state that the employees here are very knowledgeable in their field and have a lot of good advice on the pros and cons of different accessories. I advise everyone to do their own research for their wish-list of custom parts before waltzing into any store similar to Trick Trucks. If there is a product that Trick Trucks doesn't sell or promote, it doesn't mean they won't work with you to get it installed. Prices may be a hassle, but I would rather have a peace of mind knowing that my vehicle is being serviced by professionals who know their product.
