I should have written a review for O'Reilly after my first visit because I had such a good…read moreexperience so now, after my second visit, I have to sing their praises. On my first visit, I was in search of bolts for my license plates - simple, right? Maybe not. I actually needed two different kinds of bolts, one of which goes on with a funky wrench that I definitely don't own. After the friendly counter person helped me find the two different kinds of bolts, he offered to install them for me at no extra charge. So in 15 minutes, I was in and out with securely fastened license plates. Fabulous! Having remembered the great customer service I'd received on my previous visit to O'Reilly's, I decided to stop in and pick up new wiper blades. Again, the friendly counter person (not the same guy, but equally as nice if not nicer) came out and helped me find the correct sizes for my Mini. He made good recommendations and didn't try to steer me to the most expensive option which I appreciated. After I paid I went to grab the wipers he said, "Just let me get my coat. I'll put them on for you." You'll put them on for me? It was 5 degrees, dark outside and windy and still, he trudged outside with me and within two minutes my wipers were installed. So now I think that going the extra mile is a thing at O'Reilly's and it's really impressive. I wanted to believe that maybe it was my shining personality and quick smile that got me special treatment but I think it's actually just amazing customer service. I will be a customer for life at O'Reilly's based on these interactions and I highly recommend them for all your auto parts needs.

They seemed good until they weren't…read more I purchased a 2020 Impreza, former lease, in 2023. It looked showroom fresh when they showed it to me. It passed inspection for the first 2 years, and I had undercoating put on it. Now in 2026, with 53000 miles on it, it wouldn't pass inspection, because oil from a gasket leak was dripping on the exhaust pipe. When they showed me the undercarriage I was shocked to see how much rust was on it. To make matters even worse, they wanted over $4,000 to fix it! I emailed the original sales person with my problem. 5 days later they wrote that the email had gone into their spam section. I still owed $10,000 on my loan and the car was only worth $10,000, so I had nothing to trade in at the new dealership I went to!

So we dropped it off in the morning, received a video from the technician and hour later determining the source as the gaskets around the oil pans and some hoses. Despite leaving 4 messages we never heard from them. My husband showed up and they had miraculously found another leak whkch would require them to remove the entire engine to repair at a cost of over $4 grand. Mind you the technician on his video never identified this leak. Needless to say we spent $400.00 and they fixed nothing. We will never be using this dealership again.

Paulin's is the only place I take my car to in southern Maine!…read more They're so honest! I really don't know much about cars, so in the past, people have tried to take advantage of that. Due to that matter, I kept going to my regular garage in my hometown...which is 5 hours north. Now when I need something fixed or an inspection, I only go to Paulin's. Their pricing is more than fair, and they won't fix something unless they truly need to. I have had multiple instances where I have gone in for tiny, itty, bitty problems, and they have taken care of me at no or little charge. Any garage could have taken advantage of that and could have charged me for something I didn't need, but not Paulin's. Because of their great service and integrity Paulin's gets 5 stars in my book.

The finance person was also very professional and friendly. The neutral - took longer than expected, but I guess this is how the process is when ordering. There was some miscommunication/lack of disclosure on a military discount that we found out day before closing did not apply unless we used their financing. Also, I was disappointed that my near total brand loyalty over decades only was worth $500 discount, but that was what it was. The bad - Took delivery of a new Lexus Rx350 yesterday that had been ordered in early December. We were told by our salesperson that the car would arrive on Tuesday and they would need a couple days to recon and sticker the car. We made an appointment for Saturday. After arriving at our appointment on time, our salesperson was busy with different customers. At first, this bothered me because we had an appointment, but the situation resulted in us going right in with the finance person which ended up speeding the closing process. After the closing, we were taken to a special glassed in room where they process the final delivery. Unfortunately, the temporary plates were not on, and the rim was put on upside down when installed later. The technician did fix it promptly once brought to his attention. Then we moved to the technical part - when trying to log into the app, a different person's name was in my profile - very disconcerting. I was helped through correcting. Once ready for the actual tech support part, our salesperson was available and did that part. The inside of the car had several strings and stickers hanging off that had not been properly removed during the recon process that they had 5 days to complete. Also, the vehicle was quite dusty. The salesperson even commented that she would need to speak with that department about how poorly they delivered this vehicle. Overall - I have the vehicle I want and love. I found the process often frustrating with no real alternative option - Berlin City is the only Lexus dealer in the state, and I felt like the customer service was overly complacent. The dusty car with stickers and hanging strings was a huge let down. We have gone out of state before, but that comes with its own issues. All that being said, the sales and finance staff was super nice; however, the experience needs to match the demeanor.
