If there was a no star rating I would give this location, better yet a particular member - Ken K…read morezero stars. I'm a delivery driver who relies on their car for making a living as a college student. My older car had been having some problems so my friends suggested I buy a rebuilt alternator through Advanced Auto Parts online and they'd help install it. After the installation, my car worked normally for about a week then continued to die. After replacing the battery along with the rebuilt alternator, it was clear my culprit was the defective rebuilt alternator. I was forced to go to an auto repair shop to get a brand new alternator and another couple hundred dollars spent on the problem to finally have it fixed. My plan was to return the defective alternator back to Advanced Auto Parts to get my money back since it didn't work. After talking with Ken K. he told me that he didn't want to refund my alternator since he was concerned with meeting the stores quota for the quarter. I was immeadiately off-put by this comment because if their product didn't work, I wanted my money back. He kept prying me to return it to the store I had picked it up at because it was their problem - not his. He said he would be losing money by giving me a refund and I stated I had already lost enough money buying this product from Advanced Auto Parts and time out of working as a driver. I had to push to get him to give me a refund. This was the most unprofessional customer service interaction I have ever had in my life. He continued to try make an apathetic apology saying that he doesn't understand why a rebuilt alternator would be defective. After all was said and done, he said "I hope that doesn't happen next time and keep in mind you should return it to the store you picked your item up from" well Ken K, there won't be a next time thanks to your off putting social skills.

I had the best experience at the Auto Zone at 14193 Manchester Rd in Manchester/Ballwin MO. On…read moreWednesday August 28, 2025 around 1:20pm I stopped by the shop with the intention of getting my alternator and battery checked out as my car was hesitating to start and running on "energy save mode". Since I had replaced my battery 2 years ago (also auto zone but this was in Oklahoma) I was prepared to get bad news that it was the alternator. When I walked in the store I was greeted by a female who was so kind, hard at work and had time to pay me a compliment and we laughed after I asked her "what aisle is your lipgloss or make up on?" About 10 seconds after interacting with her a technician named Jason appeared and we discussed my problem. I followed Jason out to my car to pop my hood. We discussed my last battery purchase and some history on my Lincoln mkx. After about 20 seconds he said "good news, it's not your alternator, it's your battery. Let's go inside and I'll look up your warranty". We did just that and really, I had no idea there was a warranty and I'm still operating under the assumption that this is going to be a cost to me which is not an issue. However, I was delighted that the whole thing was covered no fee! I know that's standard but I'm a newly single woman so this is a very welcome surprise! He told me to hang out in the shop and he'd have my battery installed within the next few minutes. It was at that time around 1:30 and the shop had started to get a bit busy and I watched more employees come out to take care of their customers and all with welcoming friendly helpful attitudes. I shopped around and got some air fresheners, a car trash can and some hooks for bags. At that time Jason comes back in, lets me know he's done and we go out to start my Lincoln that started right up and purred like a kitten. I was really impressed by this crew and felt like writing this review as I know many times retail employees and auto care centers are prone to the worst of the worst. I can't say enough positive things about this location and even though there are 2-3 other Auto Zones within 3-5 miles of me, I will specifically be frequenting this one for my auto needs. Since the…read morecar has no spare, I live three hours away, and no one in my area will touch the car I had to have it hauled to plaza. This happened on a Saturday. I called up in advance to alert them the car was coming. I was told there was a tire at the dealership (first issue). I was never called that day to be alerted there was no tire. I finally called the dealership at 3:00 pm to find out what was wrong with car (second issue). I was not given a loaner since they were going to have the car over the weekend, which turned out to be them having the car for almost a week (third issue). I finally had to settle for a different tire on the car just so I could get my car back. This is my 5th smart car and my 6th one is on the way. I have also purchased a Mercedes from them so I am a repeat customer. Communication sucks badly at this dealership!!!! If it wasn't for really liking Jamie Winston and Archie Young I wouldn't waste my time going back! Service department needs a huge overhaul in training for communication

So unsatisfied with my latest experience!! I will start by stating my car is under warranty…read more My car locked up and sent out multiple malfunction messages when I started it in the morning for work. The car would not go into gear and none of my electronics were working (heat, Sound system, etc.). The message read out, Car inoperable see service department. It also read out about 6 other messages of malfunctions. I called the service department and let them know what was happening and that my car was not drivable. My car was taken in for evaluation. When the service department received my car the malfunction messages were not showing any longer. The messages were no longer displaying after the car set for a long period of time and then was restarted. I had tried this at home before bringing it in to service. I had restarted the car several times after letting it sit and had the same inoperable messages being displayed. The service department kept my car for a few weeks. I was told that they could see the codes I reported to them when they ran diagnostic on my car but could not replicate the problem (car freezing up and becoming non drivable) so they couldn't do anything. Why not replace the parts that the diagnostics said were malfunctioning! Next they said because they didn't replace any parts that would be covered under my warranty that I was responsible for labor charges. I was charged $300.00 to get my car back without a single thing done to repair it!! I was told they found a potential part that could have been faulty but they were not 100% sure if that part was the cause of the problem so they did not replace it. I could have just burnt my money and had the exact same result!! Thanks for absolutely nothing
