I had the best experience at the Auto Zone at 14193 Manchester Rd in Manchester/Ballwin MO. On Wednesday August 28, 2025 around 1:20pm I stopped by the shop with the intention of getting my alternator and battery checked out as my car was hesitating to start and running on "energy save mode". Since I had replaced my battery 2 years ago (also auto zone but this was in Oklahoma) I was prepared to get bad news that it was the alternator. When I walked in the store I was greeted by a female who was so kind, hard at work and had time to pay me a compliment and we laughed after I asked her "what aisle is your lipgloss or make up on?" About 10 seconds after interacting with her a technician named Jason appeared and we discussed my problem. I followed Jason out to my car to pop my hood. We discussed my last battery purchase and some history on my Lincoln mkx. After about 20 seconds he said "good news, it's not your alternator, it's your battery. Let's go inside and I'll look up your warranty". We did just that and really, I had no idea there was a warranty and I'm still operating under the assumption that this is going to be a cost to me which is not an issue. However, I was delighted that the whole thing was covered no fee! I know that's standard but I'm a newly single woman so this is a very welcome surprise! He told me to hang out in the shop and he'd have my battery installed within the next few minutes. It was at that time around 1:30 and the shop had started to get a bit busy and I watched more employees come out to take care of their customers and all with welcoming friendly helpful attitudes. I shopped around and got some air fresheners, a car trash can and some hooks for bags. At that time Jason comes back in, lets me know he's done and we go out to start my Lincoln that started right up and purred like a kitten. I was really impressed by this crew and felt like writing this review as I know many times retail employees and auto care centers are prone to the worst of the worst. I can't say enough positive things about this location and even though there are 2-3 other Auto Zones within 3-5 miles of me, I will specifically be frequenting this one for my auto needs. Avoid this AutoZone like the plague. Manager is incompetent and puts no effort to help customers. Store associates are so dumb, you would think a brick fell on their head as they were a baby. I cannot emphasize enough to just avoid this store. I had to call corporate to file complaint. Please go to the Ellisville or Chesterfield location. I don't know why this place gets a bad rap on Yelp. I have always had a good experience. Sometimes it takes a bit due to the number of customers but I am usually not in a hurry to get my bits and pieces. I have had them come out and test batteries, take sensor readings, and assist with wiper blades. Sometimes they are very busy with folks doing a lot with their vehicles but that is the nature of the business. The handful of employees I have worked with have always been patient and knowledgeable. They would even include me when looking for parts and such on their screen. My biggest gripe is the trash cans are always over full outside. Take a moment and dump them! read more

Went here on Wednesday to get a new light bulb for the front headlight. We lucked up on a great service representative Jared S. He was soo pleasant, professional, knowledgeable and extremely polite. He knew exactly what we needed, went and grabbed our part immediately before we walked to the aisle. He offered to install the light and made sure the part worked before we left. Awful service. I went in to this autozone looking for air fresher a d wiper blades. They didn't have the air fresher I wanted or the wiper blades. That's an inventory problem but not my problem. I was the only customer in the store and there were three workers (ha!) up front who could see me the whole time. Not once was I asked if I needed assistance. I heard at least three curse words as they chatted about their exploits of the night before. I decided then that I'd buy nothing from this store. On the way out I used the wrong door. Rather than tell me the exit was around the corner where I couldn't see they enjoyed a private laugh at the dumb dude trying to go out the in door. Very attentive to customers...however not very knowledgeable. I went into this location to get two sets of wiper blades for two different models of cars. One of the associates looked both cars up, told me that they had everything I needed then proceeded to lecture me about one of the models of my car and why "regular" blades wouldn't work for it and wouldn't sell me the less expensive blades. I purchased 4 blades, all at his suggestion, one set was what is normally purchased for one of the models then the other being the more expensive set. He offered to put the one set on the car that I had, which I took him up on and took the other set home. I went to a different location, pretended I was buying the set of blades for the first time and the associate at this location sold me the ones we are use to buying. I then told this associate about the other blades and he told me that it was unnecessary for the pricier blades. I appreciate associates being honest. I will only go to this location when necessary but know for next time that they shouldn't be selling me anything from what I'm use to getting. read more

Okay! The service was great. But I took my car to my dealer and he suggested I was ripped!! I had a battery I thought was dying in my 2016. Took it to the nearest Autozone for lunch. Was told the battery was dead. Was even showed it near death with their electronic checker. Left having purchased a new $160 battery. Felt Great! Right? The next day the car was dead again. It somehow managed to start. I took it to the dealer and he immediately asked for the key fob. He removes the battery from the fob and put it on a tester proved it was the culpret and gave the $2 repair to me for free. My dumb ass had warranty coverage and forgot. I wanted to share my idiocy with others to let you know the dying battery in the key fob will cause the car to behave as if the main battery is dying. I believe I am not the first person who had this challenge and was taken advantage of. read more

The manager of this store was so helpful and spent almost an hour working on my car for nothing more than the price of the battery. My teenage son purchased expensive under car lighting at this AutoZone, and when he got home he realized they wouldn't work on his car. He went to return them, and the manager said he couldn't return them because they are electronics. I had to come to the store and show them their return policy. Another person helped us and told us he would return them only this time as though doing us a big favor. I again explained their return policy states 90 days with a receipt if not installed. He then said he didn't know if they were installed. I explained they were not installed, and they should be able to tell if they were installed or not, because they were perfectly clean, wrapped and brand new. He then said he wasn't the one who told my son he couldn't return electronics, but he also didn't apologize for the way they treated my son and made me have to make a special trip just to get a standard return. It is unfortunate that they tried to take advantage of a kid, keep his money, lie about their return policy, and then not even apologize. Next time, we will go to a different AutoZone or competitor. read more

Awesome Customer Service!! I called my local Chevy Dealership and they wanted $180 to replace my low beam headlight bulb and it would not be ready for 4 hours. That seemed ridiculous--so, Googled it and watched a few videos and decided to do it myself. I purchased the bulb and told them I was going to try to do it myself. Chris (his name tag says Christian) offered to do it for me. Chris came out to my car and (just like the video) changed my bulb right before a storm started. So, Autozone saved me $160 and 4 hours!! I went in yesterday and had a helpful person wait on me and install my wiper blades. I had to order and pay for an air filter because they didn't have it in stock. I went back today to pick it up. I was in line waiting, while a couple of lazy people stood around, then suddenly became interested in "helping" people already being helped. OK, fine, whatever. I was then completely ignored by an older a$$hole with white hair and a moustache and beard. He looked past me and asked the guy behind me how he was. The man behind me pointed at me as if to let him know I was next. I told him I was fine and said that I wasn't with the man in line behind me. The jerk then walked past me and went to the guy behind me and started helping him find something. I said to another person who was there, that I guess I'm unimportant. He agreed that it was rude that the guy ignored me. The rest of the lazy jerks heard us talking, and witnessed the whole encounter, yet never apologized, and continued to ignore me. A pleasant African American gentleman said he would take the next person in line. He was very nice and helpful - the ONLY helpful person there. If I had not paid for the air filter when I ordered it the day before, I would have left. If you need anything for your car, I suggest staying away from this suckfest! I refuse to ever go there again! I wish I didn't have to give a star rating. Wish I could give a negative rating. read more
