So August turned out to be the month that just about every repair was due on my car. It's about 5 years old and it's the first time I've had to do anything beyond an oil change since I bought it. That's a plus at least. However, the not-so-convenient timing of my battery dying made for an interesting weekend. I swung over to Autozone on Sunday evening (thank goodness they were open!). I had a huge event the next day and had several errands to run so having a finicky battery was not going to jive. I had them test the battery to make sure that a dead battery was the issue rather than the alternator, etc. Dead battery it 'twas. I bought the last one in stock, and they were able to replace it at no extra charge, and dispose of my old battery. High fives to team Autozone. They were so helpful and friendly. Then, came my next visit. While driving from meeting to meeting the following week. I noticed my headlight was out. Swung over to this location one my way home (so convenient for me!), grabbed a new headlight, and the guy at the shop replaced it for me... again, no extra charge for that. I did have to wait a minute because they had to deal with other customers, which is understandable. I hadn't changed my headlight ever on this car so I'd rather have someone else do it than me try it and fumble around like a buffoon. Anyway, I love that this is an easy stop for me and nearby if anything does happen. I am car-illiterate so any help I can get is a-ok by me. High fives to the guys here for helping me out! read more
