I have been meaning to come back and review this location for a while now. About a month or so…read moreago, I stopped in here on my way home to get new wiper blades. Of course, it was due to start snowing, and when I pulled up it was sleeting. I spoke with one of the guys at the front to figure out what size blades I needed for my car. Shawn then went and picked out the blades for me, which was great. He didn't automatically go for the most expensive brand like some car shops do , but picked something the middle range (that work GREAT btw). Then comes the problem - my rear wiper blade hadn't been replaced probably ever, and the rubber piece had completely come off. He then went outside in the freezing sleet, to try and fit not one, not two, but THREE different types/sizes of wiper blades on my car for me. I am so, so pleased with the customer service I received. I had no expectations of him putting the blades on for me, let alone trying multiple times to find something that worked for my rear windshield.

After they finished, the indicator lights stayed on, and they told me I'd have to go to a dealership to reset them claiming they didn't have the "codes". After wasting hours making appointments, it turned out the alternator was faulty all along. At first, they refused to admit it OR replace it insisting everything tested fine. But today, 4/24/2026 the general manager finally agreed to replace it. After a week of phone calls, wasted time, and money, I finally got my car back. And still, they didn't apologize, didn't acknowledge the hassle, and didn't even call me to let me know it was done. The general manager barely spoke, just told the associate to hand me my key. This whole ordeal cost me time, money, and peace of mind. I'm extremely disappointed and will never return. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Rimtyme knew I only get paid once a month but locked me into a weekly contract. I said in the beginning before I signed anything, I only get paid the first of every month. They said "it's fine we can work something out" just to get me to sign the contract. Now because they messed up the payment they want to blame me instead of working with me. Don't be fooled their priority is not the customer in Richmond. All they care about is the money. Got the car back and the rims looked really good and the shop was closing so we left and couldn't go over 50 all the way home had to take it to our tire shop and spend another $110 dollars to balance and put the calibrated in the wheel because one was broke. Called the manager Larry and he said to send him the receipts and he would credit it back. Never did. I will never do business with them again!

I arrived just after opening time around 8:30am, needing the parts I was assured they'd have.... well they didn't, BUT Parker (the clerk helping me) requested the required 8 pieces from another of their locations (I assumed). It took the full relayed 3hrs for them to arrive and they were worth the wait. $10 & change vice the $26 & change the BMW dealership quoted! Walked in for BMW spark plugs. Advised the attendant of the year, make & model. Whoa Baby $6.49 x…read more8, GREAT or so I thought until I provided them to my mechanic. He confirmed that they were not correct and would not fit. I didn't bother going back to Advance to exchange them as I assumed that they didn't have the correct size, given what they'd provided ;-{ I tried a competitor down the street a few miles who also didn't have them, but with the old spark plug on had they were better able to confirm that the car was likely taking the year model newer, SO that said, I held no harsh feelings toward advance. Though I found out that too was incorrect!!! Take two - Went back to exchange the parts HOPING that they have the plugs for the newer model. Luck was NOT on my side AND the rain was pouring down. The upside is (although I had to pay the mechanic a 2nd service fee for having to come back to my house) the attendant could read the desperation on my face and directed me to an import parts place vice the BMW dealership! Parts were twice as much, but the BMW dealership was 3 times higher!! Shout out to the attendant who helped redirect me to someone/another parts store, who could help, when they/Advance couldn't. I appreciate that!! That good customer service is what help them hold on to that 3rd star, however like BMW these other auto stores should pull the last digits of the vin to confirm particular parts!!
