Needed a new battery for my Wrangler JLU, which I now know has an extremely / unnecessarily complex electrical set up with an auxiliary battery tasked (only) with starting the engine and running the auto start / stop feature...but I digress. Anyway, I called around looking for a specific type of main battery as mine was definitely shot due to the little battery being shot; this was the only location close to my house that had it. But, they said my ride was not included in their list of "authorized" vehicles that they could change batteries on upon purchase, as is their policy (apparently, only on MOST vehicles). Might that be because my JLU is unnecessarily complicated and convoluted to change the battery on? If I go on that tangent I will, again, digress. I certainly understood their position - I did not want to be the one to change out the battery either! So, I took a ride out there to pick up the battery - fully planning to bring it back home and struggle through the process with the assistance of all my friends on YouTube. Upon arriving - dreading the rest of my day, I found this helpful, knowledgeable, kind and polite young individual (forgot his name) who very cheerily sold me the $300 battery. He asked me if I wanted it changed - as is their policy (apparently, only on MOST vehicles) - at which time I replied with what I had been told over the phone. He simply said "let's go take a look at it." Fast forward ~16 minutes and a couple of dry jokes later - mine not his, and voilá...battery changed without a hitch, a huff or a complaint from this young lad. He put everything back where it belonged - just the way it was, wiped down the "work area" and said "there you go, sir; have a nice day." Now, that is what I call excellent customer service!! Above and definitely beyond. AutoZone has my business for life, and that location will always be my go to! Thank you, young man. I should look up your name and post it here later. You deserve personal recognition above and beyond this here review. The world certainly needs more people like you - now more than ever! But...I digress. read more

My car needed a new battery-it was completely dead. I removed the dead battery and went to Autozone to properly dispose it. Then Howard helped me find the correct battery for my car. I visited this store many times since I moved to the area back in 2005 and it is safe for me to say that I spent quite a bit of money purchasing items here for the various vehicles I've owned during that period of time. I went to the store recently looking for fuses for my vehicle, not a big item for sure but left with nothing and rather disgusted with the absolute lack of interest in me as a client. I literally stood, wandered around, and the lack of interest was baffling particulary since the store was not particularly busy at all ( I believe there were 2-3 people in the store counting myself). When I ask a question about the fuse in particular the staff couldn't answer it which I understand, afterall they can't be expected to know it all but their utter lack of interest in assisting me was a definite turn off. I tried to pry a fuse out to compare but had no tools and when I asked for an electrical plyer to do this I was literally offered to purchase one!! really? now that's lame. In this day and age where one can order anything from Amazon and other retailers, AutoZone would do a better job at being a place clients feel welcomed and cared for. That was completely absent from my visit today and, as mentioned above, I walked out with nothin after having perused a few items I wanted to purchase as I am spicing up one vehicle. Not only did I leave with nothing but went home, pulled out a fuse, purchased a fuse kit from Amazon together with an assortment of accessories for the vehicle all of which will be delivered to me tomorrow without the need to face staff who wouldn't care for giving me any assistance whatsoever. So AutoZone, this long-established client bids you adieux.....train your staff better particularly to the fact that every client, no matter how insignificant the purchase at hand, is a relationship that should be fostered and nurtured. read more

Wow!! They need to get rid of the Manager Fritz over here at the Pembroke Pines store! I bought a sensor (warrantied) and the sensor is bad. I go there and they said they have one in Lauderhill, so it could be here in Pembroke in a week, I said no problem. Then he wanted me to pay for the sensor from the other store and when it came he would refund my money in a week. I said so I have to pay double for a warrantied product. That's bs. That's insane, when it is coming from another store. The guy has zero customer skills and seems racist towards Latinos (he came out the gate with a nasty attitude towards me). I'm filing complaints with the DBPR and State of Florida with their scam of holding money and making interest on it, it's called "factoring". Screw AutoZone!!! read more

I bought a brand new alternator, installed it, it was defective, so I came back to get my $270. The manager told me he wouldn't refund it because I had no proof that it didn't work. How was I supposed to prove it if it wasn't in the car anymore? He didn't try to help me in the slightest. The receipt specifically said I could return the item within the warranty period if it didn't work. It said I could get a replacement OR refund. So then I took it to the actual autozone that I bought it from in Lauderhill. The manager there told me that they have machines to test the alternator to see if it didn't work. WAY TO GO PEMBROKE PINES MANAGER, COULDVE JUST TESTED IT TO PROVE IT WAS BROKEN INSTEAD OF PURPOSEFULLY TRYING TO MAKE ME EAT $270. The Lauderhill location issued me a full refund & gave me ZERO problems. Won't be returning to this one. read more

Great oil change specials from time to time. But, WOW the service is horrible. The employees here lack people skills and don't seem to really extend their hand to help you find what you need. I frequent this store often because of their specials when their competitor do not have the brand that I need on sale. Every time that I've visited, it seems to me like if the customer were an inconvenience to them and are making them work. What prompted me to give such a bad review was the final straw that broke the camel's back... A 'manager' was attending me. I was waiting in line for a bit, while they rang up another customer and then walked away to check up on what the other associates were doing. Which there were many people awaiting to look for parts for their vehicle, so a search for parts on the computer was ongoing. The 'manager' didn't even bother to excuse themselves and a few minutes later finally was acknowledged and said they'll be right there. As I was rung up, there was a security device that was on an item I was purchasing. They proceeded to ask whether I wanted them to remove it and I told them 'yes,' because I wasn't sure what device I needed to use to remove a security device and this seemed to bother them. But I figured it out that it was a device that just needed to be cut and thrown away. If I would've known this, I would've done it myself... When it came down to pay for the items, I swiped my card, and the card reader said 'waiting on cashier.' So that I did... The 'manager' asked, "are you going to pay and swipe your card?" HmmmMmMm... Then they proceeded to blame the computer for being slow...THEN all of a sudden, without excusing themselves, they take off... What the?!?! Well, 10 minutes later, after swiping my card 3 times, they finally came back and all they needed was to press a button to finish the transaction, I asked what happened? "I was removing the security device." No apologies, no thank you, come again, sorry for the wait... Just handed me my bag and off I went... GOSH! Wake up and smell the coffee and stop treating your customers like if we were dummies! You're a company with great potential... read more

I bought a grease gun to lune the hubs on my boat trailer. The gun would not release from the fitting and it broke the fitting off the hub. I took it in and Taylor did his best to help me. He took the gun apart to try and fix it. All of a sudden I'm dealing with the manager who accused me of breaking the fitting. The manager told me he wasnt going to replace it or return it without the receipt. He would not replace my grease fitting and he refused to put the gun back together. This guy does not understand anything about customer service. His tool broke my gear and he didn't donthe right thing. And then he blamed me for it. Never again. Realized my tail light bulb was busted on this Friday evening. Autozone was open, I walked in 930pm, lucky for me the place was empty. Today I needed a new car battery, needed it installed and David H helped me by installing it. He also took the time to help install my windshield wipers. As Gerard, one of the AutoZone employees, went on to change my newly purchased battery, he found out that both connections to the battery heads have been completely corroded and disfunctional. Gerard went above and beyond his call of duty to replace both connections so he may be able to put the new battery, and all that in the scorching heat of a summer midday in South Florida. read more

Customer service is terrible... Go down the street to one of the many close competitors. Tried a simple return on some cheap product I didn't like and they treated me like some low life who was trying to screw them out of a few bucks. It wasn't the money, it was the way I was treated. The staff are knowledgeable people and they installed my battery and I was out of there in about 30 minutes. Customer service was horrible! Waited in line to have my battery checked out, and when it was my turn the employee said he'll meet me outside. I waited by my car for about 5mins. Went back inside to see what was taking so long and he was attending another customer. He said he would only take a minute so I patiently waited, reason being he looked overwhelmed but it obviously took longer than a minute. When he was done it looked as if he was going to help but then asked if he could attend one more customer, me being in a good mood I agreed. Thinking it would be quick, which he wasn't I waited another 10mins. Another employee (think it was the manager because she was wearing a gray shirt) finished with a customer and asked next in line so I asked her if she could help with my battery and she looked around and said well let me see another customer first. At this point I was loosing my patient so I told her that I was already passed up twice and that I've been waiting for about 20mins. The look on her face showed she didn't care and asked for the next customer in line. This was the worst experience ever. I just wanted to see if I needed to purchase a new battery but experienced THE Worst customer service ! read more
