I went in to get a headlamp for my car. They were very helpful when it came to selling me the part. I was having trouble installing it so I went back in for some help or guidance. I had heard they might give me a hand with it if I had trouble. The clerk gives me a blank stare and tells me it's too complicated.....really? I had never written a yelp review before, but my experience yesterday is worth sharing. I generally take my car to a trusted mechanic to have any work done, or parts ordered. But the unfortunate circumstance of my car headlight being out forced me to look outside the local garages last week. All I needed was a new headlight bulb, and every sensible mechanic charges their hourly rate for what is likely a very quick process. I considered doing the headlight switcheroo myself, but I didn't have the experience or knowledge to get it done. I stopped at Autozone and Andrew was quick to offer to help me find the right bulb for my car. He was one of the most friendly and helpful workers I have encountered in a store. Not only did he quickly help me in the store, he offered to try to change out the bulb for me... and at dusk, on a Friday night, that is exactly what he did. They immediately came to assist me and I told them my problem and what I was looking for and not even a minute and I was at the cash register paying. The guys here are super friendly helpful. I stopped in here one day last week on a morning it was sprinkling. The cheap windshield wiper blades I bought from Wal-Mart (yeah, I know, but it was close to home) flipped over while they were moving when I turned them on. The one on the driver's side almost fell off when I was on the freeway. I went into the store thinking I was going to have to buy another set of wiper blades. I forgot the guy's name, but he said all I needed was some little plastic pieces that were missing, and he put them on for me in the parking lot. He did not charge me for the parts, since they were from his box of spares. They worked just fine after he put them on. I am very happy with this store and will visit again if I am in the area. read more

Javier G. The part sales manager has some shitty customer service. I bought a lighting kit, and the lighting kit came with a faulty wire that I needed to get replaced. I asked if I can just get the wire replaced but he kept suggesting that I needed to return the whole kit just for one wire. I asked if he can just take out the wire I need and get it over with. He then agrees to do that but with the most annoyed looked and rips open the box and gives me the wire. He then "lectures" me on what the proper procedure of how doing a return/replacement. It's not my fault I got a faulty product and had most of it already installed. read more

I would like to say thank you autoZone for having such a great management team with Jose and Al ! I just moved to Oceanside and my husband is currently deployed to Afghanistan. I was in a car accident totaling his vehicle. I purchased a used car and it turned into a mechanical nightmare! I have no family here and was nervous to have to put my trust in a store. The battery kept failing and I was able to find out it was the alternator. Al helped me primarily and was able to narrow down my best options. I finally felt a bit of relief to know I could get car stuff handled here without the unnecessary sales pitches. He spent his time explaining what was needed and and my best options price wise. He also explained to me about my car battery terminals being loose and showing me which ones to purchase. This is all stuff I would have never known. I've made 3 or 4 more visits there for purchases working on this vehicle. I would like to send a big thank you to the management team at auto zone Oceanside for being a little glimmer of light in this hectic time for a military wife!! read more

I no longer shop here, even if I had to use up the store credit I will go to a different location. I bought a wire crimper that didn't work. I bought the correct crimps from them too, but it would not compress enough to hold onto the wire gauges that it was speced to work for. I brought it back and wanted a refund and they refused, I told them the problem, and they couldn't disprove it, they didn't have a sample wire. I was in the middle of work and had already bought a crimper from somewhere else that worked for the same sized crimps. My only option was to go back home, bring them a sample of the work and a spare headlight with the right wire gauge to have to prove to them it wasn't working. Mind you I rarely go there, it wasn't like I am the type to use it and then finish the job and return it, the crimper was extremely useful and I wanted to own one that works for future projects. The clerk treated me like a liar and a criminal. They would only give me store credit. Before this I bought my batteries here, my wipers, and a lot of parts. After this incident I no longer shop here. I don't even want to drop my oil off here. read more

Always great friendly and knowledgable customer service, though occasionally slow because of being understaffed. AutoZone also has a lend a tool program where on select tools a customer can leave a deposit (essentially the cost of the tool), use it and then return it. It is a free service! read more

Everytime I have gone to this location they are more than helpful and have gone out of their way to help me. They always seem busy but worth the wait. I would recommend this auto parts place to other women. I bought a battery and they made sure my car would start since it had been so low on charger. read more

This place is great. Israel stopped what he was doing to help clueless me and my car. I had what I thought was a quick headlight bulb change, instead it was my connector that was bad. Israel helped me order a connector and then helped me a few days later to install it! He was so extremely nice and helpful!!! I will definitely go back here next time I need something for my car! read more
