I stopped in last week trying to find out more about the propeller shaft from a 07 Acura RL…read more First off, if you come here, make sure you take item in question off the car first. This place doesn't have a lift so they won't be able to inspect it without it off the vehicle. Second, AJ was able to give me a bunch of information to make a good decision on the propeller shaft. He was hoping he could fix the CV boots, but the parts he could get wouldn't fit properly. Right off the bat, he noticed that it was carbon fiber. When I put my hand on the rear u-joint and realized it was shot too. AJ pointed out that the u-joint was staked in place and even if he replaced it, it'd be extremely difficult to center and then there wouldn't be a way to balance the shaft. Both of us were really hoping he could repair the propeller shaft, but it looks like even if he could find the parts to replace the cracked/leaking boots, the u-joint would still be a problem. The other option was for them to build a replacement driveshaft. AJ seemed confident that they could make one and I believe they could. It would have to be made of steel for strength, carbon fiber would be out of the question and aluminum wouldn't be strong enough because of the size restriction. All in all, if you need anything done, these guys should be your first place to check out. They have a wealth of knowledge to help you make the best decision. Thanks AJ and thanks Drive Train of Mesquite!

I get my oil changes at the dealership and they did that and after that was completed, the service advisor tells me that my oil pan was leaking and that I needed to replace it. The cost was $530. The advisor continued by telling me that the passenger side front axle had grease all over it and that that repair would cost $2150. I was suspicious and untrusting of Clay Cooley simply because of the entire situation, so I had seen online Dwight's & Don's Auto Care and I decided to give them a try. I met with Justin and explained my situation and he presented himself as a truthful guy and I decided to give them a try. Well, after everything was done, my oil pan didn't need to be replaced. It was the oil filter housing assembly that needed to be replaced because it's plastic and had broken. As for the front axle and the grease, Don told me that they cleaned it up and that the boot wasn't torn and that there was no reason for any further repair. So, after going to see Dwight's and Don's Auto Care, I went from a possible $2100 repair bill to a $400 repair bill. My Palisade SUV is running good and I highly appreciate Justin's and Don's sincere honesty. This was my first time in their shop and they took care of me like I was a regular customer and from now on I probably will be. Thank you so very much, I'll definitely be back when any other work is needed.
