Ok not to get all political, but it's December 2020 and this is now my go-to store. I go 2-3x per…read moremonth and I drive past a half dozen auto parts stores, including two other Advance stores, to get here. The service is really good, prices and quality comparable or exactly the same, and the staff here wear masks and have social distancing measures in place. Those last points probably make it a hassle sometimes for the staff, but I appreciate it because while we're in the middle of a pandemic, and our country is managing it poorly (the worst in the world), 4 Tennessee cities are among the top 7 worst cities in the country. Including Johnson City. Look, I just need a filter or a part, I'm not trying to risk my health, nor anybody else's, so I come here. They also tried to straighten out my loyalty points account, greet me neighborly when I come in, and are really considerate and patient. Thanks, JC University Parkway Advance! You're doing things better and it shows.

I wish I could give zero stars…read more.. On February 15th, my employee "purchased" a part from this establishment that was supposed to be delivered via UPS. To this day it has never arrived; we have never received a tracking number in spite of multiple requests; we have never received a return call in spite of multiple requests; we have not received a credit in spite of multiple requests. Today I was forced to contact my credit card company, to report this transaction as fraudulent, and to receive a credit from them for a part never received. At one point this yard even stated that UPS was to blame as they delivered it to the wrong yard. I will never use this yard again. Well, I guess I was the only one "used" the first time...

I bought an engine from them back in August and due to my work schedule, I was unable to get it in…read moreuntil Mid-December and started it yesterday 22Dec2015. When I went to start the car up, there was a ton of white smoke pouring out of the exhaust. My initial thought was maybe it is gray indicating the mixture is too lean, but my fear was that the head gasket was blown. Then I started to hear noises coming form the radiator and sure enough, there are bubbles in the overflow. Checked the compression and sure enough the middle two cylinders are well below minimum. Called the company to let them know that the description they provided was incorrect and they guy was baffled that a person would call back 4 months later when I told him that I just got the engine in due to all the parts that had to be ordered. I was told by them that the engine was in good working condition when I bought it. To me a blown head gasket is not good working condition, but hey what do I know. To absolutely confirm that it is a blown head gasket and not the rings or the valves I will do a leak down test, but either way that is still not a good working condition engine.

Always friendly, caring, professional, are accurate with their quotes, provide excellent service, from the front desk check in/out service, to the quality work they do on my vehicle every time. They call me before doing any major work to let me know cost and always have great value for the work they do. They are honest and I appreciate their integrity. Something that is rare in business. I've recommended them to friends and family who have all also been satisfied with their service. It's nice to have someone reliable taking care of me and my family's vehicles and safety. Thank you, Porters!

On 6-17 I took my truck in to get an alignment and the castors and cambers adjusted, everything…read morestarted off well then the tech asked me to come in to the shop so I did and he wiggles the tire and said I had a bad ball joint and I needed to take it and get it replaced then call back.I said ok and went to the office to settle up and they said no charge since they didn't do anything.I then took the truck home and jacked it up to replicate the movement I saw and everything seemed tight so I took it to two different shops which both shops checked it and said the ball joints were fine, the last shop even asked me how long since someone had messed with it because he pointed out fresh tool marks on the tap and that's when I figured out that they didn't want to do the alignment because adjusting all of those can take several hours it's not just a quick alignment job I then called to explain the situation and what I thought had happened to Greg the store manager who quickly became argumentative and hateful and swore his guys would never do such a thing which I don't blame him for wanting to defend his people but I feel he should've kept an open mind and at least attempt to look into the issue.I will never be back there as I feel they cannot be trusted Thank you
