First I would like to give a big thanks to Johnathan who I believe is the manager at this location. This guy should be a District Manager. I have been purchasing items and batteries from Autozone since 2005. Just recently I was in need of a new battery and and called the Montrose location and talked to a representative and was told I was in the system and that my battery was still covered under warranty. Great I said and explained that I would be by later that day. As it turns out I had to pick up my son from school which is across town off of Bissonnet and ideally I found another AZ location near his school. Kill two birds with one stone. The rep at the Bissonnet store explained that I would have to leave the battery there for two hours first just to see if it is really dead or if it would take a charge. Fine...I will run some errands with the little one and come back. Come-back....battery is a dead duck. Ok...lets get a new one and use that warranty. Oh..Sir week can't find your battery in the system or any transaction of purchase. I see. This is a AZ battery yes...yes and you have every transaction I have since 2005....Yes. And you are telling me that in the past two hours this transaction disappeared like a fart in the wind. Yes. BLANK BLANK BLANK. We'll sir if I suggest you go to the store where you purchased before. I called the montrose location and got Johnathan. He simply tells me to come over and he will handle everything. The drive back to Montrose...I was preparing for a war of words. I've been dealing with Autozone all throughout my teenage years. However, ever since I got my new car I haven't really been getting my own hands dirty anymore as the only maintenance that I do are oil changes and tires. However, recently my battery finally died. Well I figured it was either my battery or alternator and was really hoping it was just the battery. This happened of course on my way to watch the Broadway "Wicked". I was dressed up with a tie and all walking into an auto repair store...yeah they probably thought I was a total douche. Anyways the guy behind the counter was not judgmental and went outside and did a quick diagnosis of my battery and sure enough that was the problem. I got a new battery but he's like we don't do hard installs...since my car is newer there is a lot of junk covering it up. I was pretty bummed out but he was like I can let you borrow some tools to let you work on it. I was like alright that's cool. I went outside and he actually came outside with me anyways. I started doing the work in my clothes without any hesitation, I guess by me getting my hands dirty he was like this guy isn't a stuck up douche. He ended up helping me remove all the extra coverings and replacing my battery. He even gave me a free bottle of water since it was blazing outside and I was soaking wet. A little extra goes a long ways! BTW: there are 2 autozones near by but when I called the other location the person who picked up didn't speak English. So if you're ITL come here instead! read more

Absolutely exceptional customer service here. Autozone in general has outstanding customer service, but the individuals at this location consistently go out of their way to make sure we had everything taken care of. You can't beat their typical Autozone services, like the check engine light code check or rent a tool services. I've come by before and they always give honest advice and walk you through the cheapest and most efficient solutions instead of trying to sell you the most expensive part in the place. My girlfriend and I stopped by on a Saturday evening after her car battery seemingly died while we were grabbing dinner. The store was busy and they only had a couple of people on hand, but the gentleman (Marcus?) came out and tested the battery, informed us that it was charged but had a bad cell or two in it, and got us a replacement with a five year warranty for a good price. He came out and installed it for us, and we were in and out in about 20 minutes. read more

I came here a few days ago to get a new lightbulb for my low beam. I had no idea what I was doing or what I needed. The employee, Christian, at the counter was so very helpful. Kudos to AutoZone! Last week, couldn't disarm my car alarm system with my key FOB. Called AutoZone looking for a new battery for the FOB. Since my car was not drivable because I couldn't disarm it, Stephen, a manager at the Montrose AutoZone, went well above and beyond. He sent one of his staff (Garza; a kind and knowledgeable young man) out to me (about a mile from them) with a new battery for my FOB. When replacing the FOB battery did not resolve the issue, Garza correctly diagnosed the issue to be my car battery rather than the FOB battery. After speaking with Stephen, he went back to the store and brought out a new, replacement car battery to me and installed it. Was informed that the battery was at no cost bc I still had about 1-week left on the warranty of the existing battery that I'd, quite coincidentally, purchased from AutoZone. Talk about luck! Couldn't say enough good things about Stephen and Garza and the level of extraordinary service received. Truly a neighborly and beyond gracious approach to customer service. I have consistently visited this location for the past 5 years and never had a reason to complain. That all changed the last time I stopped in for new wipers and bulbs. The level of unprofessionalism from the cashiers was unbelievable. There as a single employee working his register and a line with around 10-15 people. Finally a second cashier opened another register and announced verbatim "if anyone needs service please come to this line". To much confusion, around half of the line migrated to the new line so that there were an even number of people in both lines. The line I was in continued and the cashier checked out two customers before me. Then it was my turn and out of nowhere the cashier decided that I needed to be in the other line. I was dumbfounded as to what suddenly changed and I attempted to explain. The cashier then raised his voice and cut me off mid sentence insisting that I get in the back of the second line (BEHIND the people that had migrated from behind me). I am still dumbfounded as to what exactly happened. Needless to say, I placed my items on the rack beside me and left. Purchased all of the parts on Amazon and saved around 20 dollars. I will note, ALWAYS buy the insurance for the battery as it really does pay off...i was able to replace my battery for free this past weekend since i was within the last week of the deadline/cutoff...now the reason i gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because i am the one that had to bring up the fact that my last battery was purchased here just short of 2 years ago when they didn't seem to notice that even though it came up in the computer...but again, once i told them they were quick to refund the cost of the new battery and give me (and install) a new one...so get insurance and if ever needing to replace it ask them to check the coverage expiration date of your old one! read more

I just drove through a car wash with my windshield wiper blades on automatic, which broke off one of my blades. I've only had this car for less than a week and don't know anything about these wiper blades, so I went by AutoZone to see if I needed to replace it or if it could be fixed without waiting to go to the dealership. If you need a new car battery, get your current car battery jumped, then make Autozone your first stop. That's really all you need to consider when you're sitting there waiting for triple A or whomever is going to jump-start your car. If it is you that is jump-starting your car because you are smart and have jumper cables in your trunk, meditate on your next stop while you (hopefully) successfully find another car to attach your battery and cables to. By the by, you should have a set of jumper cables in your trunk. Why do you want to make Autozone your next stop? They'll change your car battery for you: take your old one and connect the new one for you. Oh, if you consistently get your batteries from any Autozone, they'll have your buying history on file. Make them check when you got the last one - you may have a rebate coming your way if your current battery is still under warranty. read more

I didn't have much time during lunch to run errands and get a windshield blade so I expected my visit with Autozone to be quick. When I entered, I was promptly greeted by one of the customer reps named Erik. I told him what I needed, he quickly looked it up in the system and guided me to where I can buy my blades. He even suggested that the ones I buy were the most recommended. I'm also glad that they do free blade installations (for most cars). Erik was able to install my blades quickly and in the hot heat. He didn't show any judgement or make any comments when I mentioned that I know nothing about installing blades on my car and that I needed a lot of help. Most guys would jump on the idea of this but he was very professional and understanding. What a great customer rep! He was so super friendly, acknowledging and customer service oriented that I will come back here for my future purchases on car related items. read more

My car got stranded in a Pet smart parking lot, and It wouldn't hold a charge even after jumping. I made my way to Auto Zone, and they both lent me the tools to replace the battery and walked me through how to remove the battery. I came one day to get a new battery and the guy told me that I would need to come back the next day because I needed a manager override for the swap. I uber the next day to do exactly what he said and the Hispanic woman that really didn't even help me, was so rude and disrespectful. Didn't even apologize that I was told the wrong information and wasted my money, and that I would have to come back, spending more money. She did not give a damn and it showed. THANKFULLY the manager John was kind enough to ask what was going on and allowed me to switch the batteries and bring my old one back and apologized for being told the wrong information. That is good customer service unlike the ugly woman. Even when John told her to do it, she still continued to be rude and had the balls to say in front Of me that people were being rude to her. No ma'am, you're the one who is rude as hell. I'm sure she gets a lot of complaints on her rude ass. Then come to find out, the guy I previously spoke to was a damn manager but was too damn lazy to help. If you're gonna be in the customer service business then you should at least try to provide some damn customer service, at the bare minimum some damn kindness and compassion. Fast, efficient, no BS. I don't know what more you could ask for here, besides maybe a place to sit. I went to Autozone after my car battery faile me, as many do in these hot Texas summers. It was very busy with people having similar problems and this Autozone is a well-oiled machine. I waited in line, told the guy what I needed. He gave me my battery options and recommendations (if you're planning to keep the car for more than two years, get the 5-year warranty) without recommending the most expensive option, let me know how many people were in front of me, and gave me a time estimate (about 30-45 minutes). Unbelievably fantastic customer service. I came in on a Monday morning before work with battery terminal connection issues. One of the guys in the store, John, came out and took a look at what I was dealing with and gave me a couple of options as to how to fix it. He gave me all the tools and supplies I needed and within 10 minutes my problem was fixed. Long term. I went back inside to wash my hands and asked John if I owed him anything and he promptly told me, "No, but come back anytime you're having any issues." Sidenote, I have been to this location before to buy batteries and they're always very helpful with getting me exactly what I need and informing me of the battery recycle programs that I can save money. The first of many times I went to this location was so so. But after needing to go back again-3 more times because my car was having a bad week-I had the opportunity to meet and talk to a very well versed associate who answered all my questions, help me locate items, have suggestions, etc. I forgot her name but she really went over the top and helped me out. She obviously recognized me the many times I went into the store in a matter of a week or less. Each time, she greeted me with the same go get them attitude.
