I stopped in yesterday to get tar remover for my car that was safe on paint. I was not greeted when I walked in, despite the place being fairly empty. I know nothing really when it comes to car maintenance, so I approached an employee standing at the register, and specifically stated what I was looking for. He didn't seem to know much about car maintenance either but directed me to an aisle he THOUGHT might have what I was looking for.
I went to aisle 3 and perused the shelves for some time, not seeing any product that claimed tar removal. I'd Googled some products prior to going into AutoZone, so I pulled up the search to see if I could find a similar container.
Employee from the register popped back to the aisle, and I told him I couldn't find anything on the shelves but I'd seen a product online. He asked to see my search, I showed him, and after a few seconds he found the item on a high shelf. I was dismayed to see it was $3 more than the online price. [sigh]
Employee didn't accompany me back to the register. There was another employee at the register but instead of ringing me up, I was instructed to wait for the other guy. Other guy rang me up and gave me a receipt, but did not put my items in a bag.
Otherwise, the place was clean for an automotive store. Pricing wasn't good, customer service was worse. read more
