Battery and alternator test
Win S.

Came here after my car died at work and I got it jump started! Had to wait in line for a while because there are not too many people working and they give you full attention. Thankful for the latter, though, as they don't rush you out if you have a car issue and really take the time to explain what's going on and to run the tests on your car. I worked with Ricardo who was very friendly and talked through my different price options and warranties for a battery. He walked out with me to check on my car to run the diagnostic test to ensure that it was just my battery problem and not the alternator, which would require taking it to a mechanic. We found a lot of corrosion on my old battery and he cleaned off the protective plate that was covering it. It was a really cold day! So he told me I could wait in the car while he worked. Quick replacement process in and out, took less than a half hour. He also covered the new battery in protective grease.

I didn't realize they do an array of FREE SERVICES such as - Free Battery Check - Free Engine Check - and a bunch of other stuff I didn't think I'd need. Holy smokes. Admittedly this is not the best AutoZone I've been to, but I just had to post this review because I just saved myself a few Jacksons by coming here first. The first time I came into get it checked...the guy couldn't find the OBD-II port in my car. Normally it's under the driver side steering column. He couldn't find it so I left. After researching, I located the OBD-II port in the passenger side foot well. Another young guy checked it out with the hand-scanner and told me it was reporting a slow Oxygen sensor. This this happened right after I had gotten an emissions inspection at a gas station in Shirlington, we were really skeptical whether this was a valid alert or just a false alarm. He told me if the light comes on again, then it's probably a "valid" problem. So far....so good....no check engine light.

I give this place five stars because of Edwin and a new product called Armor all ultrashine headlight restoration wipes! I was about to spend $180 at some nearby auto shop to fix my blurry and dim headlights, it was called a headlight restoration job. Edwin swooped in and told me all I needed was some wipes and he even showed me how to use them. Not only will I be back at the store, to see edwin, but now I trust AutoZone as my automotive best friend. Go Edwin, go!!

Don't go here. Very rude people. They would rather talk and laugh than help a 100% disabled Veteran. These people SUCK. GO SOMEPLACE ELSE.

Jason told us which bottle of Freon we needed for my car, and then was instructing us on how to do it.

Bait & Switch I…read morecalled Olympus at around 3:45p on a Friday to check if they had available a car battery. The lady checked and quoted me two prices: flooded battery is $179 with 2-yr warranty and AGM battery is $230 with 3-yr warranty. I stated I would go go the AGM. She told me the battery had to be delivered to their MD store from their VA store. I agreed and told her I needed the battery that day as I had secured someone to install it for me. She said no problem call me back at 5pm and I'll confirm if it's been delivered or how far they were away. I called her back at 5pm and she said the driver was minutes away from the MD store and I should head to the store to purchase the battery. I headed to the store and advised I was there to purchase the battery. That is when I was told the battery was $279 with tax it was $297! I told the guy I was quoted $230 by that lady in the VA store. He tried to lower it to $255 plus tax but would not honor the $230 price even after calling her who also confirmed she quoted me $230z. I was left driving around store to store trying to find a battery before stores closed at 6pm to ensure I had it in time to have it installed that evening. FRUSTRATING! Lost a customer and earned a BAD review too! Olympus do better! Honor your price quotes - that's what a good business does!!!

I've been going here a lot lately to get miscellaneous parts for my 1999 Honda Civic. So far, I've…read moregotten spark plugs, a front headlight, and an air filter. They always have the parts I need and best of all, they are at least 50%, if not more, cheaper than any chain auto supply store in the area. The service is excellent and they seem very knowledgeable. If you need parts, I highly recommend you check them out. They also have locations in Fairfax, Woodbridge, and Chantilly. I can't say if the other locations are as good, but just in case you're not near Alexandria, it's worth to check out.
