Blatantly discriminated against and lied to. Last night Wednesday 1/30 I went in 8:08 pm for my battery to be checked. The older gentlemen addressed me "what do you want". I was taken aback and responded "I was hoping to get my battery tested" He said "why". I explained my issue and that I wasn't going to buy a battery until I knew mine was bad. He said "yeah we don't test batteries for walk-ins after dark, go to another location in the morning" I spoke to other branches and supposedly this is a lie and against company policy. I called the location again to get the guys name. The younger gentleman answers & I proceed to explain I was mistreated and asked for the older gentleman's name. The guy on the phone, "what's your problem man? I ain't given no names. You don't like our policy then go somewhere else" Basically they said "get lost pal we're not helping you" I hope these guys get fired. I will be calling corporate today and following up every day. I purchased spark plugs, and I noticed that they automatically included dielectric grease on my receipt, which I already have at home, for an additional charge. When I requested a refund for the grease, I was met with a dismissive attitude. I was told that the grease comes with the spark plugs, but that simply isn't true--if it were included, it would have been part of the original price. Because of this experience, I will avoid this location in the future. read more

Marquis, the manager in training was so helpful to me and my friend. He helped her search up the correct brakes and rotors for her car, and made sure she had the correct brake fluid. I needed to recharge my AC and he came out and looked at my car and found the correct AC recharge kit that my car needed, as well as recommend somebody who could do it for me. This man took time out of his lunch break to help us! 10/10, marquis should get paid $100k a year. read more

Customer service! They selected incorrect wiper for car, tried another. 15 minutes for a refund!! Register wouldn't work, asked if another could be used, said no. After 15 minutes we moved to another register! When refund finally complete manager told employee to do two returns for another customer before putting my old wiper back on. No apology from mgr, just a dirty look. read more

No one likes to deal with a dead battery. Asking people to jump you becomes a problem and the more you do that the worse all other power supplies like alternator and starter start to wear down. I was in a pinch and only had a little bit of time. I rolled into this Auto Zone not expecting speedy service. (There were three people there before me with hood up) I went inside and was greeted by a woman who seemed a little down. I explained my situation. Told her a dad joke and turned her frown upside down. I later found out that she was only a little sad that she had to be there on her only day off! I would be sad too! LOL She went on to inform me of the batteries they sold and the warranty they provided. When I suggested the smallest and cheapest, she did not try to upsell me or lie about anything. She simply gave me what I asked for and quickly installed it herself. Still helping every customer that came thru the door. This young lady was awesome. Paige, this one's for you!!! I went in to get a new headlight. I'm not very car savvy so I always ask for assistance putting lights in or changing my battery. The woman told me when I bought my bulb that someone would be out to help me soon. I wait outside for 10 minutes and finally go back in because it was so hot. The woman had forgotten I was out there. She instructed her coworker to help me. The staff member came out and was complaining about how she needed a screwdriver, then how she was going to have to take my battery out to change my light. I explained I was about to go on a roadtrip so I did need it done. Then she returns to tell me that she can't do that for me because the battery had to be moved. I popped across the street to J&W Auto Services where the guy changed my light without removing my battery in a total of 3 minutes and he didn't charge me! For an employee to tell me that they don't have time to help me is inexcusable!!! I'm a customer just like the others waiting. I was in need of a battery for my Volkswagen Jetta TDI. AutoZone is close to my house, so, I figured if I got the wrong type, I could return it easily. The man at the counter was polite and helpful. He did not treat me as a "mechanically challenged female." He offered to install my battery if I brought my car to the store, but I had help at home. He did carry my battery to the car for me. I don't frequent auto part stores, but, if this had been a clothing boutique, I would frequent it often. In fact, some fancy-schmancy stores could learn big lessons in customer service from this gentleman. He even gave me a rewards card. If my head lights burn out, I won't hesitate to return. read more

If I could give this location, specifically Keisha, more than 5 stars I absolutely would. I went in to get my battery checked after needing a jump start earlier that day, and it turned out I needed a new battery (terrible news for someone that starts a new job the following day). They were short staffed and Keisha still took the time to be so sweet and welcoming, set time aside to check my battery, walk me through my options, and change my battery. She made a potentially extremely stressful situation for someone needing a car to start a new job the following day smooth and seamless. Going to any places car related as a young female can be a terrible experience due to it being common to experiencing patronizing males but this was a completely different experience. I've never had such a positive experience in this type of setting and I will absolutely be returning for any needs that arise in the future. read more

Policy first, customer second... Employee pulled the wrong part, when I tried to exchanged it I was told the re-credit had to go on my card, (which my bank could hold for 3-5 days). They refused responsibility at this point. Three different managers and not one of them knew that if it was a debit transaction (which it was) you could get cash back. An employee later revealed this to me, but by then their system blocked my exchange so I couldn't do anything and they wouldn't just switch it out. One manager yelled at me to stop wasting my time trying to exchange the part, then ignored me when I tried to talk to him. Another manager snatched the replacement part out of my hands as I was attempting to explain how simple this exchange could be. The main manager said that was their policy, you can't do a return without the system, so its not really their fault. Reallly? You pulled the wrong part. You failed to explain the difference between debit and credit transactions. You refused to simply switch out the parts, and deal with the computer end of it later. This is what our society in the computer age has come to. A solution is right there, but because of a "policy" that needs a computer input at that very moment, they lost my business. So, the managers don't think for themselves, and the employees are in no position to help because they are outranked. None of this matters apparently because without their system, their hands are tied. In the end I paid for the same part twice, ($400+) then had to return next day to get my cash refund, met with the same don't want to help attitude from the same manager. Lost my business for good. I gladly drive the extra few miles to their competitors. read more

Had a great experience today thanks to Andre! He changed both of my blinker lights quickly. He then asked me to turn on my car and checked my oil where he then said I needed more and it would stop the rattling... which he got the oil for me, filled it up and the sound stopped! I drive by this AutoZone on a daily basis. It doesn't look appealing (but then car parts aren't exactly my kinda items to drool over) so I've never stopped in here. This past weekend my car decided to have 2 burnt headlights. I had no choice but to get them replaced (guess after a month of "one headlight" I finally have no option left... hey hey, I like that "one headlight" song ok??). Being a typical chick, I didn't even bother to look for anything in there myself. I went to the counter and was helped promptly. Besides a brief moment of WTF when he told me it's $99 EACH, which I told him I bought it before for way less, he found the bulbs for my car for $25 a pair (good try buddy on the up-sell, but damnnnn, $100 a piece?!). I asked him to pleaseeee put them in for me. They didn't charge for labor, which in itself was worth the wait. So I doubt the guy was master mechanic, but you know what, he got the job done, it was affordable, and I no longer have to worry about Popo. I will be back again... considering how often stupid Volvo burns through headlights! read more
