Yay! Autozone. Look, it's an auto parts store, what do you want? Whatever it is, you're probably going to find it here. And they can't order it, they'll just tell you that. But on top of car parts, and tools, and oil, and blinker fluid, what you get here is a staff that's willing to go out in the dead cold (or the sweltering hot) and check your battery, and probably even replace it for you. Plus, as they say, you can get a reading of the codes if your check engine light is on, and they'll tell you flat out if you can fix it yourself, of if you're borked and need to go to a mechanic. read more

My car battery chose the coldest day with the highest wind chill of the year to die. My friend jumped it and suggested I take it to the nearest Autozone. My GPS took me here, which I had always driven past before on Buford Highway. I went inside and was a little overwhelmed by the amount of testosterone in the store. One man made eye contact with me, noticed my deer lost in headlights look and asked what I needed. I told him my dead battery situation, and he pointed me in the direction of his computer. After searching for my car make and model, he found a list of batteries that were in stock. The total cost came out to be $126 with a two year warranty. He installed it for me then and there. He threw on a less than heavy duty jacket and followed me to my car with his toolbox and battery. It was FREEZING and yet he tried his best to cope with the 18mph wind in the 20 degree (literally feels like -5 degree) weather and unscrew the nuts and bolts that held down my dead battery. He commented on some of the rust/discharge (whatever that was) that coated the "plus" side of the battery. They sell cleaner in store, but he told me a much cheaper and easier solution to break it down and remove it. It took him a little while since he was clumsier with his numb fingers exposed to the wind. Unfortunately I was just as cold as I stood there watching. I secretly kept wishing he would say I could go inside and wait if I wanted. By the time he finished, my fingers, toes and face prickled from the cold and I couldn't feel the skin on my body. Once he finished the battery installation, maybe 20 minutes later, I was good to go. I wish I'd caught his name, but he was very helpful and didn't complain once about the cold (except when he was agreeing with my own complaints about the wind and cold). I noticed other reviews showed less than stellar experiences. Mine was terrible because of the cold, but I cannot fault Autozone for that. I really appreciate their help! read more

i came in at the most unfortunate time. there was an old couple that were raising all kinds of hell. I must applaud the workers that had to deal with and dealt with them nicely. this place gets 3 stars just on customer service alone. we were helped by the russian guy Nick and he was very pleasant and knowledgeable. he was also the one who helped the said nasty old couple and he went above and beyond the call duty. however, i cant give this place any more than 3 stars just based on its location. it seems like this place is located in an area were unsavory characters are part of their daily buzz. im not sure i will come back to this joint but still, bravo to nick for his great personality and helpfulness. read more

I went in here yesterday to find a solution to my car remote key with a broken key hole. Tien, the parts sales manager, approached me to ask what me about what i wanted. He suggested using a glue to hold the broken key hole. Not only did he come up with the idea, he went to source for the glue and glued the keyhole for me. This means a lot to me because I can now connnect my car remote key with my other house keys on the same bunch Disclaimer: when I asked to pay for the glue, he told me that it was complimentary and cost too little to bother. Overall, that was such excellent regardless of whether I paid or not. I will be back here for my other auto issues. read more

I love these auto parts stores almost as much as I love hardware stores. I was having battery problems so I went here to get a free battery and alternator test. I checked all my connections, my belt, and cleaned my battery terminals first. Hopefully that's all it was because my car passed the free test that they run for you. I also needed a part for the engine which I'm going to install myself and some wiper blades. The employees here were very helpful and I had my typical fun just looking around at all the cool stuff *caveman grunt* I would recommend this Autozone ...and I always get a kick out of everyone working on their car in the parking lot. read more

The prices are always fair and the staff is always knowledgeable about what you need. O'Reilly next door is a nightmare. I always start there just because I'm used to the O'Reilly being great back home but the customer service is always poor and they lack knowledge and training. Last month I came for a windshield wiper replacement and it took FOUR employees and THIRTY minutes to try to change my wipers, they gave me the wrong ones TWICE, and then still couldn't change the wipers. Not to mention the attitudes and nonchalant customer service I received. I got a refund and came to auto zone. The store was pretty busy but I was still in and out in less than 10 minutes with the right windshield wipers. Thank you for being great. This place is crap. I wish there was an option for no stars. The manager, Gloria, was a pain. We waited in line for 10 minutes and when it came to our turn, they were quick to move on to the next customer. We just wanted them to look up a simple oil capacity for an oil change, but she said that they simply couldn't do it. I've been to Autozones all over Georgia and not one has ever said they couldn't look up that. She kept arguing with us saying that she couldn't look it up. I went to order a part and the young lady told me that I could go to another location to pick it up which was out about 10 miles so I told her I would order the part there instead so I did and paid the amount of the part. She said ok it will take one or two days to arrive and we will call you when it comes in. Even though they didn't call me, I went in the next day and the part wasn't there and the young man said oh check back tomorrow in which I did. I went in spite of receiving no calls and the same young man looked up the part then called another man over and both went to look at the items that had arrived to the store on the shelf. The other taller man came back and looked in the pc and said that part was never ordered . I was so upset. They don't care about customers and just brush things off with a smile. I needed to replace my headlight but wasn't sure exactly what I needed or how to do it. I already had a replacement bulb but didn't know if it was the one I needed for the light that was out. I had also already gone to an Advance Auto Parts where I was told that even if I purchased a headlight they couldn't install it for me, which isn't much help since I'm not particularly handy when it comes to cars.
