Finally Fred barked from behind the counter and said it will be a minute. He proceeded to do something with the register and finally after another 2 mins asked ' what do you want' in a tone that was rather offensive. I explained that I would like to have the battery tested. Once again he barked at me saying 'it won't happen'. I have to wait 10-15 mins. This guy', and older man had no right to be in this line of work. I left the store and proceeded to Auto Zone where I bought a battery.

Not a good way to greet a customer. I ignored it because i was in a hurry but his rudeness continued. He got mad at me because i did not know right away some specific info on my vehicle. He then informed me that they did not do battery installs on my vehicle type, a 2018 Kia Optima. I suspect the real reason he told me this is because it was about 30 minutes until closing time and he didn't want to help me. So i said thanks for nothing and went to Auto Zone, where they couldn't have been nicer. They had me fixed up and on the road in no time. They were more than happy to take my money. Imagine that. I had never been in an O'Reilly before and you can be sure i'll never go back. This interaction took place on 6/11/26 at approximately 8:30 pm. I don't know the name of this extremely rude employee, but he may be in need of additional training.

He also helped us get a needed coolant flush done. When the initial problem was confirmed to be present and covered by warranty, he helped us to get a loaner vehicle while the repairs were taking place. Items that were totally not under control of Mitchell were the acquisition of the needed parts by the dealership, so we know that is unavoidable. I will definitely reach out to Mitchell for any other problem than we have and know that we will be dealt in a fair and competent manner.
