Bough a thermostat gasket. Product spec states gasket included. It was not included. Went back to autozone and employee said "this thermostat doesn't use a gasket". Showed him the description and install instructions. He said "that doesn't mean it's included, you have to buy it separately". Asked if he could please check another box to verify because of the product description. I was told that he wasn't going to do that, that I have to order the gasket for $10. Got a refund, went to O'Reilly, thermostat was cheaper, it also didn't come with gasket BUT THAT WAS STATED ON THE DESCRIPTION, ordered for $2. They had a $10 and $2 option which I later learned Autozone did as well but the $2 was never offered. I was polite and was treated with complete disregard. Another customer there asked for OBDII scan. Store was otherwise empty and late morning. He was told "I'm not doing those right now". When asked why, is the reader not working? He replied "I don't know I'm just not doing those". Customer service is trash. I understand if you're dealing with a disrespectful customer but we were two chill customers that had two basic reasonable requests. read more

Worst service EVER! Day shift crew on April 3rd 2015 are the most rude people! I witnessed a young boy come in and he was spoken to very rudely by a female employee. She yelled at him and told him we don't do card transactions over the phone and when the other male employee asked for a receipt and credit card, she rudely interrupted (before the boy had a chance to speak) yelling that they don't accept credit cards over the phone and they need to see a receipt and the card. I was thinking to myself "I'm pretty sure you guys just told him that less than 10 seconds ago. & There's no need to yell at him about it!" Then the boy ended up telling them he's going to another auto zone because he was frustrated from being yelled at.. When he left, in front of all the other customers, the female employee says I hope he has to deal with so and so because she's a pain to deal with... Unbelievable! Next in line, a man was buying a big heavy utility box for the back of his pick up and asked if the employee could bring it out. So he did, yelling where's your vehicle? The man quickly paid for it and followed the male employee out to his truck.. When the employee came back in, he said loudly "I guess that guy couldn't put down his purse for 2 seconds to carry that thing out by himself." The 2 employees were laughing but I was NOT! Last I checked, that is the employees JOB! These 2 are completely disrespectful and ignorant!! & This is only one of my experiences here.. I've had other bad ones too because of these ignorant employees. Another time that I can recall was when my S/O and I called to see if a rental part was available. It was.. The same female employee gave us the wrong part and we didn't notice until we got home. We went back and she ROLLED HER EYES at us and gave us a rude remark when we told her it was the wrong one. If you want my advice, go anywhere but here! Awful AWFUL service! If I could give negative stars, I would! I honestly wish I could do more than just write a bad review and never go in there again. The clerk at the Allen Park store was friendly and passed on important information about using the AC recharge I purchased. He showed me exactly where the low pressure service port was on my car. He also helped me get my windshield wiper blades on correctly. Now they won't come lose while I'm on the freeway! read more

After complete brake failure on my '99 Ranger, I was terrified and forced to pull into their parking lot. After topping off the brake fluid, we realized that one of my brake lines was cracked and was losing all the fluid. Consequently, I had no brakes whatsoever. Scott and his staff including Amanda (?) were so helpful in this otherwise catastrophic event! They allowed me to keep the car in their lot for nearly a week until I could make arrangements to have the car towed to a mechanic that they had done business with in the past. I will be a repeat customer and ambassador for this store since they went above and beyond to help me in a really tough situation. I only wish all businesses treated their customers like this!! You need to know what you're looking for. The one employee I dealt with was very brash in telling me to pour an entire fuel cleaner bottle in my tank. She specifically told me to ignore the label for a 9 gallon tank even though the bottle treats up to 25. Luckily, two guys in the parking lot asked me if I've ever used the product before and when I explained that the employee told me to pour the whole bottle in, their response was "Absolutely not." They were both into building race-cars and gave me much better advice. I saw another customer get treated rudely by the same employee regarding his corporate account. At one point she interrupted him with a sharp "Listen!" As she repeated herself about the way the computer works. I got the sense that she had a very limited knowledge of vehicle maintenance and parts, but carried herself in a way that suggested she was an expert.
