"your car just needs a new ac compressor, $1800"…read more interesting- i had brought it in for overheating and an oil leak. i don't care about the ac, and don't usually use it- why does that matter if it's off? "the ac compressor uses the same belt as the water pump, so it's the problem". um, ok. what about the oil leak? "we can't diagnose that until you fix the AC, because it's in the way and all" cool. not gonna sink that money in, so pay $140 diag fee, start driving the 20m to my home deep in the desert. immediately notice that there's no power steering. as i'm getting within a mile of my destination it stalls. low battery. pop the hood, and two interesting things pop out to me: 1. the a/c is on its own dedicated belt. nothing else. you could remove it and disable ac but prevent any of the other issues. i did not need to pay for an ac compressor to fix or diagnose anything else. they could have just pulled the belt. 2. there's a second belt, that's goes to both the power steering and the alternator. it is completely missing. turns out it was sitting in the back seat. fortunately my friend wasn't far behind me. we jumped it for a bit to get the battery good enough to go back down the hill. they did refund the diag fee, which was nice.

They are terrible, truly screwed me over and almost had to take them to small claims court. I've…read morenever dealt with a worse mechanic shop. Spent $1600 on repairs to my car a year ago and already everything they've done has had to be replaced. They put in front struts, one of which quickly went bad. Had 2 separate mechanics tell me the strut needed replacement after Liberty had just put new ones in, so I returned to Liberty since they were still under warranty. Bijan refused, saying there was nothing wrong with it, even though you could literally see the bolt being pulled through the metal. After much argument, I had to pay out of pocket for a new one and had to go directly through O'Reillys where the part had been purchased from to get reimbursement, where I also found out that Liberty had charged me almost 2x as much for the struts as he had purchased them for. I later took the old strut back to show Bijan and he admitted it was bad. They claim they believe in preventive maintenance but they just want to do a bunch of unnecessary work they can charge you for. A year ago they claimed I needed new rear struts and a new axle because the the engine was resting on the broken axle, sagging down several inches. A year and several mechanics later, the rear struts are still fine and the axle is fine-the mechanic I had look at it said it has a tiny crack in it but replacing it wouldn't improve the safety or performance of the car, it would be an unnecessary repair. Seriously, avoid this place, they don't honor their warranties, will do unnecessary repairs, overcharge, and all the work they did to my car just needed to be redone by another mechanic.

Woods auto repair was the one I stopped at! They seen that I was having an emergency and offered to help me asap! My upper radiator hose had busted. They were able to help me right away, and the price wasn't too bad either. My car ended up having worse issues that caused the radiator hose to bust. But I do appreciate the fact that they helped me the way they did. They replaced the hose and had me on my way. Also helped me understand the issues my car was having. They made it easier for me to let the dealership know exactly what was going on and what needed to be fixed. Thank God for warranties! Overall I was very satisfied with the services they offered. After my car was smog checked, this Prince told me, no insisted, I take my car to be checked or risk a complete system failure. That's the nice way of saying you are in grave danger. When my mechanic described what might have happened had I not come in, the pushing up daises image comes to mind (as well as my truck hurtling head over heals into space). I will be forever grateful to Smoggy's until the day I die (which is now a later date). They'll have all four of my vehicles from now on. Oh, and the customer ahead of me probably feels the same way. Mark, the guy that runs this place, does not do a visual inspection to let you know whether you might fail or not before starting the test. Stay away if you have a muddy cat. Or do his job for him, clean your cat before going. We have gotten our 1996 Jeep XJ smogged 2-3x here at this very same shop since we've lived in the desert (6yrs) and this year he decided to fail the Jeep with the same catalytic converters it's had for 10 years! Never failed smog before. He couldn't be bothered to use a green sponge to clean off the catalytic converters encrusted with mud. How Lazy can you be! Generally, he has a bad attitude towards customers. It's a mix of arrogance marked with superficial friendliness. We went home and cleaned up the cat and took it back to him. He admitted that they were the right numbers after all and that the cat was legal and fine, but he refused to test the car again. Now my car has a failed smog test on its record all because this person couldn't be bothered to clean off a bit of mud. DON'T GO HERE!!!!
