Auto Fleet - power steering issue

I purchased a Nissan Pathfinder from this dealership less than two weeks ago and paid an additional…read more$500 for a 90-day powertrain warranty. At first, I felt like I got a fair deal upfront. However, since buying the vehicle, several issues have surfaced. First, the roof trim came loose, which I had to glue back myself. Then, I discovered that the rear door handle was broken--a detail I missed during my inspection, so I had to fix that as well. And this morning, I realized the power steering fluid is definitely bad, which may require me to spend $2,000 to $3,000 to replace the pump entirely. It's evident to me that this vehicle was not properly inspected by a certified professional before it was listed for sale. The "computer readout" they provided, showing old diagnostic codes, was apparently from the previous owner, as they didn't even bother to run it themselves. I take full responsibility for trusting these people--Alvin, in particular, was great to work with--but unfortunately, this dealership refuses to stand behind their products. They are doing everything possible to avoid covering repairs that, in my opinion, should have been addressed before the car was listed for sale. Who sells a car with bad fluids, broken trim, and a faulty rear door handle--something that could have potentially trapped my kids? To make matters worse, although I paid for the warranty in full to cover issues like this, they are politely refusing to cover any of the repairs because they "aren't engine or powertrain related." While Alvin tried his best, he has no authority to make decisions for customers, which is frustrating. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I wouldn't call my car a lemon since it does run, but the lack of accountability and customer support is unacceptable. The only reason I'm giving this dealership one star instead of zero is because of Alvin's efforts. So, thanks, but no thanks--save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else!

Beware. Here's my story - I found a car online, I'm quite a distance away - upstate New York, in…read morefact. But these cars are hard to find and this one was what I'd been looking for. The salesman, Alvin, was great and I felt he was trustworthy. He agreed to take the car to a nearby auto mechanic to double check it, at my expense. That checkup found serious issues, and the salesman got the dealership to agree to fix them. Why? I had a great, newer car to trade in. But today, when they finally got the parts and had it fixed, Alvin came in to work to find that instead of taking it for its final check at the auto shop, it had been sold to someone else yesterday. Yes, I was disappointed and I am not pleased. But since they used my report to make fixes to the car and sold it to someone else, it seemed the least they could do was pay for that inspection. The owner, Roger Tinsley, just told me he "wasn't doing that" and I "should have bought the car quicker." Since Auto Fleet's inspection didn't find any of the issues found, and they were the ones who said there was a delay in getting the repair parts, I find that an interesting argument. So - I'm out $250 and I don't have the car I thought I was getting this week. Don't make my mistake. Go find a place that isn't run like this one.

I've never been to a car dealership where I actually felt like the sales people were actually wanting to help me instead of just selling me a car until now. I live in Virginia and was able to order both cars through their website, and was able to coordinate ordering accessories through email. Both Amy and Caleb give me courtesy calls to keep me posted on the status and delivery dates. Thank you for the amazing customer service and communication. The level of professionalism and genuine hospitality I received made me feel very welcome-like I was actually a valued customer. I will gladly make the trip to Dick Brooks Honda for future car purchases. We purchased/financed our 2025 Honda Pilot through Honda and have been very disappointed with how…read moreour recent service issue was handled. Our Pilot has approximately 21,000 miles, and the A/C suddenly stopped working. We brought it to Dick Brooks Honda and were told by Justin Dowling that the A/C clutch and coil need to be replaced. According to the repair order, the parts are currently "on backorder with no ETA." What was most disappointing wasn't that a part was backordered. We understand that parts shortages can happen. It was the response we received when asking what we were supposed to do in the meantime. We were given our vehicle back with no functioning A/C and essentially told by Justin that there was nothing they could do and that we would have to continue driving it until the parts became available. The loss of the A/C has also affected our ability to adequately defog the windshield in humid or rainy conditions, which creates a visibility concern while driving. This makes being told to simply continue driving the vehicle indefinitely without functioning A/C even more concerning. My husband called back and specifically asked to speak with management in hopes of finding another solution, especially since temperatures have been extremely hot and we have children who regularly ride in this vehicle. Unfortunately, management's response was still that there was nothing they could do and they trusted Justin's earlier assistance since he is the best in the service department. We weren't demanding anything unreasonable. We simply expected some effort toward a solution, whether that meant checking for the parts elsewhere even if they were not local, discussing a loaner or rental option (they told us that loaners/rentals were not an option), escalating the backorder through Honda, or otherwise helping a customer with a nearly new vehicle that is still under warranty. The lack of options was frustrating, but the lack of concern and effort to help is what was most disappointing. We have now had to escalate the matter directly with American Honda Customer Service and open a formal case ourselves. We also own a Toyota and have dealt with Toyota's service department on multiple occasions, and we have never been treated this way when dealing with a vehicle issue. The difference in the level of customer service and willingness to help has been very noticeable. This experience has seriously affected our confidence in returning to this dealership for future service or vehicle purchases.

Unfortunately in the past we have been burned by other used shady dealerships much like this one, so we got an inspection before deciding to purchase. Upon inspection, they found that there was a steering gearbox leak. Once we gave this information back to the dealership, they said that this should have been caught by the dealership shop before putting the truck for sale. We were then were told that they would take $1,000 off of the price of the truck sold as is (why would anyone want to buy a truck that they would have to fix?). Absolutely not. Then, we were told that they would talk to the repairs department and see if they could get the truck fixed and we agreed that if that was the case we would happily purchase the truck. Unfortunately, 1 day later the truck was marked down by $2000 and the sales associate reached out and said "there was no leak" when you can clearly see that it is still leaking in the background of the photos sent. Obviously, the truck has not been repaired and they are just hoping to get it out the door by any means necessary. Coincidentally, the estimated cost and labor of fixing the issue was around $2000. All in all, integrity and transparency is everything to us and had they been willing to fix the problem, we would have happily did business with them. Save yourself the money and headache and shop somewhere that is not selling cars that they know need repaired.

The staff were polite and respectful, but there were several issues with transparency and communication that made the process frustrating. Initially, I was sent photos of a different (new) vehicle than the used one listed online, and I noticed the VINs didn't match. I pointed this out, but it wasn't corrected until I was already in talks about pricing. After negotiating what seemed to be a fair price, I began my more than 2-hour drive to the dealership. About 20 minutes into the drive, I was informed that the vehicle in question was not the Limited trim but an LE--explaining a $6,000 price difference. At that point, they offered to discount a new Limited model by a few thousand dollars, saying the price difference between it and the used one would be around $3,000. That sounded reasonable--until I arrived and saw that the discount hadn't really been applied in a meaningful way. I also inquired about the college graduate incentive, and again, the total financed amount remained unchanged. It felt like discounts were being mentioned but not truly reflected in the numbers. My final MSRP ended up being about $37,000 before trade-in and down payment--higher than expected based on our conversations. To add some irony, the dealership advertises a 3-day, 150-mile return policy, which barely covers my round trip to the dealership. It's a nice gesture, but not very practical for out-of-town buyers like me. I did end up getting the car I wanted--although it wasn't fully loaded--and I'm happy with it overall. Still, I wish the process had been more upfront and accurate from the start. If you're shopping here, I'd recommend double-checking all the details before making the drive
