The most extremely mediocre bar ever. $1.25 Busch lights and deep friend potato skins are good. But any bar that willfully sells "Vantucky" hats loses 2 stars no matter how cheap their domestic selection is. It's a definite dive bar. The food is typical dive food. My favorite tator tots? No? Best chicken strips? Not even close. Good service? Yes. Nice prices? Average. Clean? So so. Would I go again? I could have sworn I had reviewed this place a long time ago. Apparently I was mistaken! I've been coming here off and on for years! I think the reason I keep coming back to it is because I have yet to go in there and be annoyed by patrons being loud and/or singing. No karaoke is a fabulous thing. The only thing that has been hit or miss are the employees. Sometimes they are extremely friendly and make sure you have everything you will need. Other times they ignore you and pour you the weakest drinks imaginable. I've even been there where they only focus on half of our table. I don't know about you but shouldn't you see what everyone else wants to eat and drink, too? There are pool tables, darts, comfy couches and plenty of tvs. Not to mention, great people watching! We used to enjoy this place for an end-of-the-work-week Friday beer. That all ended, though, when we had horrible service. I ordered my usual Mac & Jack's African Amber just be told rudely they don't carry that beer anymore. I asked what other types of Ambers they had on a tap and was responded to with sarcasm and an eye roll. I grudgingly chose one of the 2 then was brought the one I didn't choose but I drank it anyway and I don't recall what it was but it wasn't bad. When I asked for another one, I was brought something different that was rather disgusting. I told the server this beer was different than the first and she told me I was wrong. I have a pretty good pallet and that beer was definitely different. Anyway, it wasn't until I said to my partner in a loud voice that I was curious who the manager was so I could tell him/her about this horrible server, that we started receiving smiles when she came around the table and less rudeness. I don't think she over heard me but I'm guessing the table of men next to us that she kept rubbing up against heard us and likely told her of my comment. So, just to sum it up. First of all, What pub in Washington gets ride of Mac & Jacks? That is just a horrible thing to do. Secondly, this place has rude servers. read more

Okay, I did go back to Auto's, after a 2-year absence stemming from the "medium-well only" burgers. They apparently became aware of the fact that cooked-to-order burgers are the rule of the land (hell, you can even special order a Big Mac). The downside of this change, however, is that it is nearly impossible to get the cooks there to change generations (?) of over-cooked burgers. I've tried "medium," even "medium-rare" and it still comes out gray throughout. So, you can order 'em any way you want, but you're sure as hell going to get 'em medium well. I've coped with this fact by ordering other items on the menu. They do a wonderful breakfast, the beers are cold, their Taco Tuesday tacos are really quite good, and you can't help but become friends with Nikki and Katie Jo. They're tops, even if their cooks are color-blind. read more

This is a horrible bar. I would come here to shoot pool and every time would be racially profiled and even have the servers talk about me behind the bar like I couldn't hear them. I ALWAYS had to go up to them and tell them what I wanted. They rarely ever did unless she was one of the nice servers which they fired after a little while so I stopped going. I even was harassed by the owner for playing pool with the table open because they are so shitty and the servers get tired of opening the table because I suck at pool. Either fix the tables or I'll pay for the games but don't talk down to me because your tables are crappy. My friend also came here a few times with me and she felt sick after getting her beer. The next time she got a water and she felt sick from that! We believe they put something in our drinks. This place needs to be shut down honestly. I can't believe the city has this bar with horrible, rude, racist, ugly people. Everyone is so unprofessional and racist it's DISGUSTING!!!!!! read more

Situated on the corner of a strip mall, right next to a oh-so-friendly-looking tattoo parlor lies Auto's Pub. It's not very big, holding maybe a dozen tables, 3 pool tables, some dart machines, and a juke box. First walking in, the impression given is "oh wow, a dive bar." It's really not bad. The wait staff is quick, the bar is well-stocked, and the beers are very decently priced. I believe we were able to drink most of the night away on less than $40. It seems to get crowded around the 10-11 hour, with regulars, and newcomers. The tables are clean, the bar is bountiful, and the food, while being somewhat greasy and fried, is actually quite good, for being strictly bar food. If you're in The Couve, and you're looking for a place to wet your whistle, but don't have much to spend, and don't stand much on ceremony, it's a great place to stop. Plus, there's a Sheri's within stumbling distance for all of your after-boozing solid-food needs. read more

I ordered two different beers, which: either arrived watered down or were some other beer entirely. Drinking Black Butte Porter every night sort of gives you the experience of Black Butte Porter. I ordered one and got something that tasted like a watered down amber ale (I've had watered down drinks, but watered-down beer: I've NEVER had!). This was after ordering a different porter that was definitely some sort of amber ale, I guess. What's going on here? I don't know. They weren't serving food at 11pm, which seems weird for a bar that's open till 2. A quick walk to, choke, muchaz grassias, was needed afterwards. luckily MUCHAS was still serving food even 20 minutes after their closing time. On the positive: So I gave it a whopping TWO stars for one reason: our waitress was friendly and attentive. Maybe I'll order her a Black Butte from a real bar so she'll know what she'd be serving if she worked elsewhere. read more

It was disappointing to read Future P.'s review of 8/4/2017, since Auto's Pub as described in that review is certainly not the Auto's Pub we know. We live in the area, and this is a neighborhood bar and grill-nothing fancy, but good pub food (burgers etc), large portions for the price, and an excellent selection of beer and cider on tap. Granted we have not been here in the late evening, but have enjoyed multiple lunches and weekend brunches here, as well as happy hour type food. Absolutely no issues like what were described. We find the staff friendly, but not excessively so. People using the pool tables are well-behaved and have a good time. Restrooms are clean. This is not a foo-foo bar trying to be chic or avante garde. It's a neighborhood pub with lots of TVs so you can see your favorite teams, no matter where you are sitting. read more

I came here with multiple friends and after one beer I got cut off for absolutely no reason besides the fact that my eyes were glossy because I have a glaucoma. The bartender was drastically terrified by the fact that I had a disability and refused to serve me "because I was stoned." I sincerely hope that no one else has this issue in the future. read more

So... my girl and I were starving and this was the only place open closer to our house, or waitress was hella cool, extremely attentive and nice, my burger (smoky and the bandit) was HUGE and frigging awesome! But... my girl ordered the nachos and they were pretty foul! The beef was way way salty and really greasy, but the worst part was the nacho cheese sauce, I've never tasted nacho cheese that was more spicy then a frigging jalapeño... it really sucked! But other then that everything was great! If the nachos were better then we definitely would've given a 5! The amazing waitress tasted the nachos and agreed that was some spicy cheese !!! & she took it off our tab and brought her a 7up! Super nice!!!! read more

Auto's Pub is a 'destination place' for me, it is not my corner bar! Apparently Auto's Pub has bad luck keeping good waitresses/servers. Parts of my orders have been forgotten...like last night! Have been ignored several times in the same night when there was a small group of patrons after the pool league finished play...again, like last night! Server was way too busy chatting up a patron at the bar to view the empty pitcher at our table, and finally having to request our check from the Bar Manager! Sometimes a place is so bad, you just have to tell people about it. This is one of those places. My friends and I were looking for a late night locale to play pool and as the first bar we went to was closing, they suggested Auto's as a place with pool tables nearby. My friends and I arrived, wreathed in smiles, immediately ordered a round of drinks, gave the bartender a nice 20% tip, stuck a bunch of money in the jukebox (as the place was quiet as a tomb) and racked up the balls to enjoy a game or two. Before long, the quiet bar was a group of strangers made into friends and with the second round of beers came the urge for a cig so after one quick sip a few of us stepped outside for a chat and a puff. When we returned from the smoking area, our freshly ordered beers were mysteriously gone. We asked the bartender where they went and she gave us a cold stare and said she'd taken them. When we asked her to replace them she rudely suggested we were drunk as a justification. (If she thought we were too intoxicated why did she let us order the beer and give it to us in the first place??) To put things into fair perspective, yes, we had a few already in us but we were by no means out of control or being rude or disruptive... We couldn't figure out her attitude and after this strange, chillingly unpleasant reception, we decided to leave. As it was late and we'd had five drinks in seven or eight hours, we decided we were on the line and would rather be safe than sorry and asked if she'd mind calling us a cab... She told us to call our own cab! After already having been treated to unprovoked rudeness, having had our drinks stolen and been accused of being drunk when we were by no means out of control, I decided Auto's and the owner/bartender(ess) were the worst I've encountered in my entire 34 years of life! This place is gross I came in here one Saturday night a few weeks ago with a couple of friends we took our seats at a table and one of my buddies went to use the restroom, well a moment later he came back with a disgusted look on his face, we asked what the matter was and he told us that the men's room was disgusting, so I went and saw it for myself and he was right. The bathroom reeked of urine and vomit, I say that because there was literally vomit all over the urinal and running down the sides of it and on the wall behind it. The floor was littered with used paper towls and the toilet was stuffed full of them too I nearly started gagging,I returned to my friends at the table and luckily since it was busy they had not yet ordered any drinks. We got up and left and will not be returning. I expect this type of thing at a truck stop bathroom but not at a packed dining establishment. read more

We went and had their $6 sunday breakfast, it was great. 4 strips of bacon, 3 eggs, hash browns, and toast. they have 3 egg scramble with ham, hash browns, cheese, toast for $7. The food was good. The waitress was a little slow and did not tell us how it was done. They have coffee pot, cups, sugar on the bar to help yourself, the jam is also there. We had to ask for everything until I went to bar to get a refill since waitress not attentive, bartender very helpful and told me where everything was. I had told her it was our 1st time there, she was very friendly and helpful. took quite awhile to get the bill, waitress not great, but food, bartender great. $1.50 beer. we will go again, the breakfast is only on weekends. they have pool tables, dart boards, lots of tv, very comfortable, feel at home bar.
