After doing some online research about used car dealerships with inventory that might suit my needs, I arrived on a Saturday morning. I was helped by Skyler who was able to show me some cars onsite as well let me test drive a couple styles. She was extremely helpful, and by that afternoon I was in a new vehicle, and had also gotten rid of the old car I had. The process was painless read more

Absolute worst Dealership that I've EVER visited!! Avoid at all costs!!! I bought a car here last year and there were some issues they agreed to take care of after signing. I was supposed to make an appointment at the San Antonio location. I also bought an "Appearance Protection plan" because it was supposed to protect the visual appeal of the car. However, two days after buying the car, we learned that they GLUED the bumper on. Yes, glued. I called about the bumper and took the car into Auto Nation San Antonio, and waited for about two hours as they supposedly repaired the bumper. Turns out, they did not do the repair. So I'm not sure why they had the car for two hours. In addition, I learned that the protection plan I bought was useless because the car had to be newer than 7 years in order for it to be applicable. (The car is a 2017 bought in 2025.) Because of these issues, I requested my money back for the Appearance Protection plan after learning that I would never be able to use it and they refused. I filed a complaint with the FTC, BBB, DMV, and the AG. TX DMV got back in touch with me and agreed that what they did was fraudulent.(Unfortunately it took them a few months to complete their investigation) Whilst attempting to handle this situation, I have learned that there are a plethora of other similar complaints against Auto Nation. I wish I had done more research beforehand. If you are brave and decide to buy from any Auto Nation, I would strongly urge you to have them complete all repairs then and there BEFORE PAYING ANYTHING and not waste your money buying any of their extra plans. And definitely inspect the ENTIRE car, NOT just the obvious possible problematic issues. read more

I visited AutoNation USA after being in contact with ND about a car I found on their website. Very quick response, sent me detailed pics of the car and helpful in making my decision. Their store is clean with very friendly staff. They made us fresh coffee and walked us through the purchasing process. Summer was very helpful as well as Zo. We purchased the car and warranty and felt it was a good car buying experience! read more

I wanted to wait a little before writing this review because I'm unsure whether what happened was intentional or simply incompetence. I had been communicating with the dealership for two days and even made an appointment to purchase a Toyota Sienna, VIN 5TDKK3DC2BS121668. I spoke with the salesperson that morning, and she told me they would have the vehicle ready. When we arrived, the vehicle was there and ready, just as promised. My wife took it for a test drive, but when we went inside to complete the paperwork, we were suddenly told that the vehicle had already been sold. They then tried to sell me a different vehicle, which made me feel as though they had used the Sienna simply to get me into the dealership. Somehow the vehicle remained listed online even after they told me it had been sold. The salesperson was very kind, but unfortunately, the overall experience was not a good one. Judging by other reviews, this appears to be a common practice at this dealership. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this dealership. If you decide to visit, confirm in writing that the vehicle is still available before making the trip, and even then, proceed with caution. read more

Our experience at this dealership was completely overshadowed by the unprofessional behavior of Eddie, who I believe was the sales manager. His conduct toward us as customers was unacceptable and far below the standard anyone should expect from a business. Rather than handling the situation professionally, Eddie engaged in an abusive verbal altercation. No customer should ever be spoken to or treated in that manner. Any dealership that allows an employee--especially someone in a leadership position--to behave this way is failing its customers and damaging its own reputation. The only saving grace of our experience was Raheem and Chris. They treated us with professionalism, respect, and courtesy, and they were the only reason our visit wasn't an absolute disaster. Management should take this incident very seriously. Employees who verbally abuse customers have no place in customer-facing roles. Based on our experience, Eddie should not be allowed to interact with customers until significant corrective action is taken. No business should tolerate this type of behavior, and until it is addressed, I cannot recommend this dealership. read more

I have bought a lot of cars in my life time and this location is without a doubt the worst experience I've ever had with a finance department! Mr. Drummond AutoNation USA Katy I am writing to formally express my concern regarding what I believe to be deceptive and misleading business practices associated with your organization. On April 21,2026, I engaged with your company for the trade of my vehicle for one of yours . Based on the information presented--whether through advertising, verbal assurances, or written communication--I made my decision in good faith. However, my experience did not align with what was promised. Specifically, how long it would take to receive monies due to me. This discrepancy has caused not only frustration, but it raises serious concerns about transparency and ethical conduct within your business operations. Customers rely on accurate and honest information when making decisions, and the situation I encountered falls short of that standard. I hope your company takes this feedback seriously and uses it as an opportunity to improve its practices and restore trust. As I am prepared to escalate my complaint through appropriate consumer protection channels. read more

WARNING: BAIT-AND-SWITCH TACTICS I inquired about a 2023 Ford Explorer listed at $22,495 (Stock #PGB36198). Before arriving, I was assured multiple times that the vehicle was available. My family and I came ready to purchase -- but upon arrival, we were driven to another Autonation location and told the Explorer had "just" been sold. Here's the problem: within the same hour, I had friends call about the exact vehicle, and both were told it was still available. This is a textbook bait-and-switch. I've worked in auto sales before, and I recognize the tactic. Sadly, this dealership openly misleads customers. Please use extreme caution and verify everything before you waste your time. I'm sharing this to help others avoid the same experience. read more

Called Auto Nation Ford in Katy Texas about a 2025 F-250 they had advertised in their website as having an MSRP of 106k but they were giving an "AutoNation discount" of 10885 to get the price to 94. Part of the listed equipment on the FORD FACTORY WINDOW STICKER of the truck was a warn winch valued at 4200.00. The pictures didn't show the winch so I called to get information about it. At first nobody seemed to know anything about the missing part on this new vehicle. Once I pressed them and after numerous calls I talked to a ride manager with the last name of Aaron, he advised me that they didn't put the winch on the truck as directed by Ford and that this was Katy of the discount. Nowhere on any of their ads does it disclose that they have removed a significant and expensive accessory. From my research this is illegal but according to Mr. Aaron this is a normal course of business for AutoNation Ford of Katy Texas. It's fraud and false advertising. Don't believe any of their ad prices as they are false and misleading. read more

If I could give a zero rating I would. These people are scammers. I've had two horrible experiences with this company as a whole but I'm only writing about this location for now. This Katy location essentially sells cars with transmission issues, tries to force a warranty down your throat (an extra $5k) and doesn't correct the problems that come up even for a so called autonation guaranteed car. We purchased a gmc Yukon xl for $33k. Car drove fine for the test but the next day I noticed lagging, jerking and hesitation. I return the car and tell them this car is malfunctioning and it needs to be fixed. Keep in mind they tried for at least an hour to make my husband buy a warranty and gap insurance. These people were over dramatic, loud and clearly trying to "sell" you. My husband said no. After returning this "autonation guaranteed" vehicle they informed us they would not be fixing the car and it had transmission problems. I then asked if we purchased the warranty would it be covered. We were told it still would not be covered by the warranty because it was a preexisting condition. Such a a scam. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS BUSINESS. THEY SELL BAD CARS!!!! read more

FRAUD ALERT!! - If you are considering buying a car here, don't. I would give this dealer zero stars if I could. Their "Certified" 125 point inspection documents aren't worth the paper they are printed on, and when you discover that they are falsified and fraudulent, they will refuse to honor their warranty or take any action to remedy the issue. You are truly on your own when dealing with these POS. Better to buy from a private party and take the car to a mechanic you trust to be inspected. read more

Went to test drive a car there that was listed online. I had drive. 45 minutes to get there on a weeknight. I told them I had been talking with another Autonation dealer previously . I sat for an hour waiting on a sales person. I went back to the desk to ask if I was ever going to see the car. They said they weren't going to help me as their salespeople get paid on commission and I was supposed to bring my salesperson from the other dealership across town to show me. They didn't even have the decency to tell me they weren't going to help me, just look at me every time they walk by and ignore me. I'll never be back to this location and may not use Autonation anywhere else either. I realize now it was my mistake for being honest with them. Next time I know to lie through my teeth. read more

They suck! They lie about communicating after sales complete and don't trust the extended warranty. Also make sure your vehicle is fully inspected before purchase if you do purchase from here. I had a terrible experience at AutoNation I came in with my family, clearly explained to the salesperson what I was looking for and my situation, but instead of helping me, he kept showing me vehicles that didn't fit my needs--only what he wanted to sell. When I didn't go along with his suggestions, he got frustrated and abruptly handed me off to another salesperson without even explaining the situation. The new salesperson was confused, so I had to repeat everything I had already said. Meanwhile, the original salesperson stood at a distance singing at the new guy, almost like he was mocking him for having to assist us. At that point, I was completely done with the unprofessionalism and walked out. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone looking for respectful, helpful service. read more

What a horrible experence. My spouse and I purchased a 2022 F350 with the extended premium coverage plan for 3 years and 175,000 miles in April of 2025. By July of 2025 the vehicle stopped running twice. No dealer can sevice it, under warranty, because they claim that I did not purchase the extended warranty. I sent my sales guy (Danny Mccomick) the finance guy, (Mr. Rojas) and a service man my contract that shows the purchase. They all agree that it was purchased, but don't seem to know what to do to fix it so I can get the lemon of a truck fixed. They are wasting my time and have wasted my money. Came in as I was called by one of their employees stating that they could give us a better deal on my vehicle. Got here and asked for the girl that we had an appointment with and she passed us on to another guy that was over appraisal. Then that guy came over and passed us over to another person that was over sales. We arrived a little early so I understand if she was not available but didn't like getting passed around like a damn ping pong. We came prepared with the stock numbers and pictures of vehicles that we wanted to look at. Now of course when you are going to spend over $30,000.00 for a vehicle you want to make sure you get what you want right? Well the sales person that we got stuck with told us that we could not look at any more cars after looking at 4 of them because his manger told him that we should know what we want and we don't need to see any more vehicles and we should just pick one we already seen! I mean really wth!!! If I am going to spend a substantial amount of money on anything, than I want to make sure that it is something I want and something I am going to be happy with. Highly unprofessional. Also, when a sales person tries to tell you that they can't do this and they can't do that when you know that it's a lie, it really leaves a bad impression. Another thing that really upset us was that they took my trade to appraise it and did not tell me what they were giving me for it until I was ready to sign a credit application. They kept my vehicle key and were literally holding me hostage. Cause I was ready to leave after the salesman stated what his manger told him. I understand not wanting to show a lot of cars but we were only wanting to see 4 cars in total. Don't get into this line of work if you know you have to be outside showing vehicles off or have to help customers. Your not the only one outside, we were too! Also, customer service is key when trying to retain your business. We were never even offered water as well and they didn't even have a soda vending machine. Sad that most of the vehicles that we looked out had problems ranging from engine lights on, cracked windshields, AC not cooling and body damage. The vehicles look great on the website but in person nope, not the same. Needless to say highly disappointed in the way we were treated and the inventory was crap. We do not recommend anyone going here. We wasted over 5 hours with these people. Highly disappointed and will not go back here ever! read more

My experience at this dealership was just a waste of time. I'm in the market of purchasing a new car and I saw a vehicle advertised from this lot that was to my liking. One of the salesman reached out to me after my online inquiry telling me that he was able to work with me. I submitted all of the information for a credit check, and I told the salesman that I knew that I was a little credit challenged and what the parameters of a deal would be for me. I also told him that I was going to be out of town and so to let me know if he had a bank that was willing to work with me and I'll be more than happy to come and do the deal. He assured me that getting the financing done would not be an issue and that he was going to work on this for me. We connected again the next day, and he was insistent on me driving to Katy and visiting the lot. I explained to him again that I was out of town, and I did not want to waste a trip coming all the way back to Houston earlier than I had anticipated if he was unable to find a bank that was able to work with me. He stated that due to previous fraudulent activities, it was a requirement of the lot for the customers to be there in person. I've never heard of this before, but I obliged. At this point, he also told me that he was sure that he was able to get the deal done, except the car that I initially wanted was not available Because it didn't pass their inspection and he did not feel comfortable selling me that vehicle. They supposedly found another vehicle of the same make and model that was actually newer and he said that would be a better fit for me, and that I would be able to get the deal done with this one. I asked him was he sure because once again, I was about an hour and a half away from Houston, visiting with family and had no plans on returning into the next day. He told me that we could get it done and to please come to the lot. So I cut my trip short And drove back to Houston excitedly thinking about to get a new car. I get there only to find out that he hadn't even run my credit yet and the second vehicle which he had told me would be available to me was now no longer available. I asked him why was he so sure that everything would be able to be done and wasting my time when he hadn't even submitted my credit application? He then has me fill out ANOTHER credit app which I had already done the previous day and then tries to push a Volkswagen crossover vehicle on me with a down payment of $3000-$3500 and a monthly note of over $500. Are you kidding me? It was an attempt at a bait and switch as I'm very very familiar with the tactic because I used to sell cars. You just wanted to get a customer onto the lot and try and push something off on them in a vehicle that you're needing to get rid of because now you're losing money with it sitting on the lot. I wasted three hours of my day, ended a family trip early AND I still don't have a vehicle. I wouldn't recommend this dealership to anyone. Find you a dealership whose Finance Dept has wonderful relationships with the banks who can get a deal done for you. This was a waste of time. read more

After purchasing my Toyota Highlander 2016 less than two months ago, I need to update my review. While my first review was focused on the seller/management service, this one is about the actual condition of my vehicle. On Saturday, February 15, I took my car in for an oil change. Unfortunately, they discovered that both my engine torque strut mount and lower control arm bushing were in very poor condition and need an urgent replacement. The repair estimate is around $2,200. This was quite a surprise, especially since AutoNation USA Katy claims on their website that they perform a 125-point inspection on pre-owned vehicles. I'm starting to doubt the accuracy of this claim. A first red flag for me was the Carfax report, which showed that AutoNation performed an oil change and windshield replacement just 2 week before I bought the car. Yet, the windshield was cracked. They replaced it 5 days after I bought it. also, they never did the oil change and the light for the oil change was on 4 weeks and 400 miles after I bought it. This raised further concerns about the thoroughness of their inspections. I'm not outright advising against purchasing from AutoNation USA Katy, but I'm sharing my personal experience to help others. You might want to explore similar vehicles at other dealerships, where you might find a better condition car within the same price range. I hope you have better luck than I did. read more

I had an amazing experience purchasing a vehicle with the salesperson, but unfortunately fell for the upcharge warranty scam. DO NOT add the $1,200+ plan on the purchase as they will not honor the promised oil changes and various other services that were supposedly included. Extremely shady business practices. We came in knowing the vehicle we wanted, paid in cash, and were still screwed over. Buyer beware. ***EDIT: Autonation has reached out and Raheem (I believe was his name) was extremely helpful. There was a misunderstanding and will now honor the maintenance warranty/package that was added. Handled well and will be changing my review from 2 to 4 stars. I really appreciated the attention to customer satisfaction and will be open to buying from them in the future again. Again, I would give the salesperson 5 stars (Summer Stiles) as she was amazing throughout. I will update/edit the review after I am actually able to utilize the services paid for, stay tuned (8/2/24). read more

I purchased a vehicle on September 21, 2024. At the time of purchase, I was only allowed to test drive the vehicle within the parking lot, as it had not yet undergone inspection. Despite this limitation, I was assured that several necessary repairs would be completed, including: * Replacement of the cracked windshield. * Tinting of the windows to resolve the bubbling tint issue. * Completion of the supposed inspection. I was assured the repairs would be finalized by Tuesday, September 24, 2024. When I picked up the vehicle on Thursday, September 26, 2024, the windshield had not been replaced, and after driving the vehicle from September 26th to October 30th, I noticed a persistent noise coming from the dashboard. Given that I was within the five-day/250-mile warranty period, I returned the vehicle on Monday, October 30th, 2024. The salesperson I worked with was very accommodating and assured me that all necessary repairs would be made, including the windshield replacement and dashboard noise. I picked up the vehicle on Friday, October 4, 2024, assuming the issues had been resolved. Unfortunately, while the windshield was replaced, the noise in the dashboard was still present when I drove the car off the lot. I made a U-turn and returned the vehicle. This is unacceptable and poor business practices. I've been lied to and inconvenienced for three weeks by this dealership, and I will return this vehicle and inform corporate for a resolution. Be careful when purchasing vehicles from this dealership. read more

My dad purchased a car here yesterday around 10 am, paid cash. The sales guy said they would have it ready the NEXT the morning...I don't know why it needed to "get ready". The NEXT DAY I drove my dad 150 miles to go pick up the car HE HAD ALREADY BOUGHT. We arrive at 10:30 am and it is "not ready". They gave my dad some other car to drive trying to upsell him. That's right, they BAIT AND SWITCHED my dad on a car he had already purchased!!!!! They refused to give my dad a time of when his car would be ready. He comes back at 5pm and guess what? The car is not ready. They told him that he could take the loaner car back the 150 miles to our house and they would bring him the car. I highly doubt that. My dad told them he would not leave without the car. At 7pm (this is over 30 hours they have held my dad's car ransom while trying to upsell him another car) they allow him to take HIS car. AutoNation Katy a NIGHTMARE‼ I am writing to express my DEEP frustration and disappointment regarding the vehicle I purchased from AUTONATION KATY. I bought a 2017 land rover discovery with low miles ( 65,598) ,under the impression that it was in good working condition. However, shortly after the purchase, the car had every issue in the book within the first month all hell broke loose. From water leaking in through driver window and windshield, to serious mechanical issues. I now discovered that the car has a Serious engine problem and requires a complete engine replacement $34,000‼ This has been a shocking and extremely frustrating experience, especially since I trusted AutoNation Katy to provide a reliable vehicle. I had no reason to expect such a major issue when I bought the car, and I find it unacceptable that a vehicle with a bad engine was sold to me in the first place. A car that requires such a costly and significant repair should never have left the lot without full disclosure of its condition. LOOKS LIKE LEMON CARS ARE BEING SOLD IN AUTONATION KATY! This situation has not only caused me financial strain but also a great deal of inconvenience, as I now face unexpected repair costs and a vehicle that I cannot safely drive. I trusted your dealership's reputation and feel let down by the lack of transparency regarding the condition of this car. The General Manager is rude and dismissive!!!!!! No empathy of any type or guidance . STAY AWAY FROM AUTONATION KATY ITS A FRAUDULENT and SKETCHY car dealership. Dont expose yourself to this headache !!! NOT A REPUTABLE CAR DEALERSHIP ‼ read more

They do a really bad job of patching up banged up used vehicles and getting them to just barely run. I was looking at a Ford Escape with an ok price and mileage. It had a few cosmetic issues that needed repair before fitting into that price point. A few dents, bad smell inside, front windshield had a bad ding and needed to be replaced, brake pads and a few other things needed to be done. Sales guy insisted it would all be done in one day. We go back to find one dent left, windshield still has not been replaced, and the inside still stinks. We walk off the lot. Sales guy apologizing profusely saying he had to leave because his wife had surgery and the service crew was too busy. One more day he begs. My girlfriend needs a new car pronto. I tell her not here, let's look elsewhere. Fine, we'll give them another day. I was going to look elsewhere, but got too busy with work. We go back the next day. Everything is fixed but the windshield. The ding has been filled with epoxy. I say F this place. We end up buying the car as we're running out of time. I figure another rock will crack the windshield and insurance will replace. Neither one of us are happy, but we end up buying it. It seems nice at first. One month later, the stereo quits working. $3,000 to replace. Her mechanic brother looks at it and gives the bad news, and more bad news - front axle is bent. Never again. I wished I had looked at reviews before beginning my purchase. In my very first call with Omar, the salesperson, I told him before we discussed any details that I had just had surgery and would be unable to travel to them. I asked several times if that would be a problem. (We purchased another car from several hours away 3 years ago with zero issues but now everyone we spoke to for this purchase kept insisting we had to do it in person.) He assured me several times that it would not be a problem. We then spent a couple of days working out a deal. When I spoke to the finance guy, Carlo, I also reminded him of the fact that I would not be able to complete anything in person. Once again I was told this was not a problem. A bit later I receive a call from Omar, the salesperson, telling us there was a problem. The vehicle we were buying was supposed to be a RETIRED loaner however it had "accidentally" been loaned out again and had been rear ended. Omar asked if he was able to find us another vehicle with the same specs just in a different color, if we still wanted to go through with the deal. He found us another truck and said technically it was $3,000 more but since it was their mistake they would honor the price of the original truck. Fine, we agreed to move on. I let him know what time my husband was flying in so he could make our appointment. We were under the assumption that everything was ready, my husband just had to show up, for him to sign in person and I virtually, give them our down payment and we were done. This was not the case. When my husband arrived, there was another delay because the spare key could not be found and another had to be made. This is where it all went downhill. The finance guy is out sick and apparently they don't keep written or electronic records of deals made because he was the only one who know anything about the deal. I guess they trust their finance guys just to remember the details of every deal they have going, not stopping to consider what happens if they are unavailable for whatever reason. They tried to get us to agree to a much higher interest rate, then insist that I must physically be present to sign the title application. When I reminded them about not being able to travel due to my surgery, they refused to budge saying this was policy. I don't understand how neither the salesperson or finance person I spoke with SEVERAL times were unaware of this policy or were aware and chose to withhold information to secure the deal. As my husband had already traveled across the state, we decided to remove my name from the deal in order to complete the deal. The interest rate they gave us was slightly higher but not dramatic enough to make us back out. When we asked if anything could be deducted from the price, Omar then gave us a line about how they are #2 dealership in the state with the best prices and they are in line to become #1 or some such nonsense. We are extremely upset that in order for us to leave with the vehicle that my husband flew across the state to retrieve, we had no choice but to accept the higher interest and payment with only $200 off of the vehicle price (only once we complained more) for the way this whole deal was fumbled from the original truck being loaned and wrecked, lost keys, not allowing me to esign the necessary paperwork, and refusal to honor your deal. This purchase was not made lightly and was a very big deal to us. The entire experience has left a very bitter taste in our mouths after we were excited for a new vehicle. read more
