David Mai at Solomotorsports is awesome. I had been…read moretaking my 2019 BMW X7 to another BMW specialist in Gainesville for years. Just spent more than 4k to fix a coolant leak. After that the car AC stopped working and acting strange. Brought it back and was told to replace the entire AC system for another 5.5k. I was then referred to David Mai at Solo Motorsport by a relative. He tested it for a day. Found a coolant reservoir was bone dry. Cleaned it and filled it up. The AC is now blasting cold air just in time for the summer, and the strange noise was gone. All for $150. Thanks David. You got a customer for life. John

The guys were somewhat nice, not rude or anything. Gave me some decent advice…read more In terms of the diagnosis on what needed to be done on the car, they spotted some issues I wasn't aware of and that was helpful. The issue here was what I was quoted for on repairs. Extremely expensive... for example my A/C was not working as there was a leak in the condenser. They quoted me $849.35 to repair the A/C, replace condenser, relay, and charge air conditioning system. I fixed the A/C for less than $80... bought a condenser for $25 and the charge for the A/C for less than like $15 and i was able to replace the condenser in less than 3 hours... They never worked on my car so I can't speak on what they are capable of but in terms of trust. I would be careful and get second opinions.

The tire shop that I go to had a gentleman who highly recommended Ewing Automotive Machine Service…read morebecause they had done work on his race car engines. I came to Ewing to have my wife's Cylinder Heads rebuilt for her J Series engine (Acura MDX) after the timing belt broke. Ewing rebuilt resurfaced the headers through a sandblasting process, and replaced a few of the damaged valve stem seals, and valve springs, and put on OEM valves. Keep in mind it is not a plug-in-play, after they do the work you will need to do a full valve adjustment after installation. The owners here and the staff are amazing though. They called me the following day to let me know it was ready and their prices were very reasonable. It cost about $500 plus tax. Overall, very impressed. From talking to others, there are quite a few shady machine shops, this place only replaces what needs replacing. I highly recommend these guys. They have been in business for a very long time and I see why. [Review #709] (7th Review of 2024)

A Trustworthy Team You Can Count On for High‑Mileage Cars…read moreThis was my first visit to Eddie's Automotive Service, and I'm genuinely glad I went. My 2012 Subaru has lived a long, well‑traveled life -- now at 180,000 miles -- and when I started seeing fresh oil spots in the driveway, I knew it needed attention right away. A neighbor who has trusted Eddie's for years recommended them for their excellent work and honest approach. From the moment I arrived, my car was checked promptly and thoroughly. Unfortunately, several issues were uncovered, but the team explained everything clearly and without pressure. Because I need to handle the repairs in stages for budgeting reasons, the mechanics helped me prioritize the most urgent items and created a practical list of what should be addressed next. I left with a clear game plan and real peace of mind. It's reassuring to find a shop that's straightforward, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to helping you extend the life of your car. I highly recommend Eddie's for anyone looking for honest guidance and dependable service.
