As a young woman, I personally find it incredibly hard to find a mechanic/auto shop that will:…read more 1. Not talk to me like I'm a moron. 2. Not try to rip me off. 3. Be fair with their prices and honest with their work. I've never had a bad experience at any Firestone, but these guys in particular are really just outstanding and really deserving of praise. I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review! I've been coming to this location for about 4 years now. They are always kind, explain everything and are happy to answer any questions you may have. They are always happy to make recommendations, but never, ever make you feel like you're being forced into making repairs. They are honest, work efficiently and have great attention to detail. These guys really make an effort to get to know their customers, too, which is also rare in my experience. I had an issue in early 2016 where my car broke down on the side of the New Jersey turnpike. I was 21, had never had an incident like this away from home, and was just with one of my good friends. We were two young girls stranded in (what felt like) the middle of nowhere. I had it towed to the nearest Firestone, and the guys were great there, but they were having a really difficult time (I mean, they told me I may need to get a tow from NJ back to RI) locating the part that I needed (it was a small bolt that had snapped off). In a panic, I called my local Firestone to ask them for advice. Chic and his team were literal lifesavers on this day. They were able to identify the part number, locate the closest place the guys in NJ could get said part, and were the true reason my car was able to be fixed/driven back to RI. They went above and beyond here and I'll never be able to thank them enough for that. More recently, I had to get four new tires (which I dreaded) around Labor Day, and Mike worked with me to find the right kind of tire for me/a set that was in my price range. He made the experience easy and seamless. I just got my brakes and inspection done yesterday at this location. They were incredibly fast, kept me updated, and called me as soon as it was done. It was a Saturday and they seemed very busy, but it only took a little over two hours - which is incredibly fast to me, because I normally have to wait 3 hours for an oil change at my dealership. Their prices are modest and they always offer great coupons/discounts. I tell everyone I know to go see Chic, Mike, and the rest of these guys. They always go above and beyond and are overall a fantastic team.

They took 55.00 from me, and said 1500.0 yo fix what was wrong with my car when nothing was wrong. I will never again in my entire life refer or go to Firestone anymore. They are a waste of a person time.

Found a nice Santa Fe for 7,450. They let us get it checked out by our mechanic and thus is when…read morethe scam/problems started. The owner only has 3 dealer plates and he and his son take them home apparently. We were late for our appointment with my mechanic because of that. The dealer nland the mechanic gave the ok for a full vehicle inspection by my guy that is literally 2 minutes away from the dealership. It took rouhly 1 1/2 hours for the mechanic to call me furiously telling me its unacceptable for the car to be gone for so long and demanding i bring it back immediately. I informed him that its being worked on like agreed and if hes a mechanic he should know a full sweep isnt 10 minutes, especially when a customer is late. I tried to inform him the car was soon done and we will be on our way back once the job is done but he hund up on me mid sentence. My mechanic finished up 20 minutes after that and told me the only thing wrong was a sticky shifter that some wd40 will fix. At this point between the numerous lies we caught the owner and dealer making and that phone conversation I was going to take my deposit back if my bill was more than 150 a month. I drop the vehicle back to the dealer and the rude mechanic was all of a sudden kind and excited that I was happy with the turn out at my mechanic. They told me I just needed to wait for AAA to contact me with a loan offer and send it to them after and for them to go through the vehicle themselves and do whatever fix ups mechanic or cosmetic. That night I got a call from AAA after my alert of a credit pull being added to my account. The woman said I was approved for 6200 with my 2000 dollar deposit and they need to send it to the dealer to finalize everything. I called the dealer to inform him of the good news and his response was to tell me don't worry if it doesn't go through amd he has another option that is guaranteed to work. The following day AAA called and the voicemail I got was informing me I've now been denied and to call her with any questions as to why (this was on 7/31/24?l, I have yet to call though I know o should). Soon after the owner calls me amd informs me he's waiting on a woman in charge of financing to get in. I informed him of the change in decision amd he let's me know he can put my information into his system and get back to me on this other option. 40 minutes or so later and he calls back with a careful tone to inform me I've been approved. The payments are (with a $2000 deposit) $318 a month for 55 months. I collected myself amd asked why so much for a car valued at $7500. His tone changed to extremely rude and tells me my credit is in the toilet at a 540 amd the lender has all these fees and the rate is 17.9. Side note: When I put the deposit down I informed them of a 615 score (not perfect but far better than that bs) knowing my equifax said higher before the hard pull and guessed it would drop roughly 15 points. Credit Carma that morning had me at 617 down to 613, equifax had me down to 600 from 620 and transunion is at 617. So when I hear my score magically dropped another 60-77 points I didn't bother stressing and said I would think it over. Told my in-laws I'm getting the deposit back and my father in law took the ride with me back. The mechanic was there but not the owner. I told him I'm not taking the car because of this false report. He takes us inside and pulls up my information showing a 540 and then tells me credit karma swings at 20-30 points and I should get a transunion account to see what's impacting my score and have it fixed. He refused to listen to the facts I gave him several times and told me it's a good deal for me to go through this lender since they don't do things like any other bank.He believes its a great program for me since if I make on time payments for 6 months my score will jump 70 points and he can call me back to refinance with an actual bank for a better rate. Apparently if I had atleast a 610, I could have gotten a far better rate... all this senseless back and forth to finally ask me, when no actually meant no, if I made a deposit. I gave it to him 2 days prior and signed the invoice with him. I say yes, he asks how much, I tell him, just for him to say the dealer isn't in so I'll have to come back tomorrow. I show my in-laws the scores I have between the 3 credit reporters and credit karma and realized that they never pulled my credit for this "loan" from their creditor. We agreed that they either own this creditor or are allowed to send in false information by them since they clearly falsified my information. The next day (08/01/24) I get a voicemail from the owner again, with a $50 less payment for 51 months. Then that Sunday another call asking to sell me the car still. They gave me a copy of someone's license and other private info to sell the old car too since he's looking for a 1000 dollar car. I got more but it's too fit on this post.
