I really want to give a shout out to anyone that is looking to buy a new or used vehicle. I have wanted a Genesis G80 3.3 turbo for about 5 yrs now. I saw one on auto trader and it was every thing I was looking for. I sent an email right away to inquire about the vehicle. I was contacted by Mr Larry Johns salesman I was at wk and had to do a lot of texting back & forth. I told him what I had & basically what I wanted to make this deal happen for me. He was very helpful in answering my questions and made me feel that he didn't just want to sell a car, but wanted me to get what I wanted. I knew the dealership would make money on my trade, but that's what they are there to do. I can not say enough good about Larry Johns, he's the reason I drove 4.75 hours. I told him I was willing to drive for the right car but most of all a good deal. I secured the vehicle through my credit union before I went to pick it up. I also dealt with Carlos S in finance on signing the papers needed to finish up. Now I also know that he makes his extra money with what he sells. I could also tell that there was a little friction between he & my salesman. It was his tone & how he spoke to him, it was disrespectful in my opinion. I even text Larry and told him I was sorry that Carlos was being ugly to him. I get that he wanted to make the upsell of warranty,gap ect but I was not buying and he basically wanted to get me done & out of there and move to his next customer. I think that in general he may be a nice guy but feel strongly that he should treat all customers with respect and realize that just because I wasn't purchasing anything extra didn't make me a lesser customer. I stand by this statement Carlos, and it will help you to go farther in this business. People will forget what you did ,they will forget what you said, But they will never forget how you made them feel. That goes for customers and the salesmen you deal with on a day to day basis. I just want you to think about what I'm saying. If you take constructive advice and use it to better yourself then I feel you have great potential and I say this with respect for you. Larry was great and he actually called me the next day to check to see if I was still happy with my new car and trust me I have bought many car's, He is the 1st salesman to do a F/U call. We just had the worst experience trying to purchase a new truck. We should have negotiated the price BEFORE going to the dealer. The "discounted" price on the internet was very deceiving because when we decided on a truck and started making a deal, that "discounted" price went away because there were "add-ons" that were already on the vehicle (how convenient), so there goes almost all the discount! Very DECEIVING!! They also tried forcing us to finance through Ford; if we didn't, we would lose any little discounts that they were offering. I knew we were in trouble when they started with "where do you want your payment to be?" We should have not only walked out we should have RAN!! We kindly told them we didn't want to talk payment, we wanted to negotiate the price but even the manager came out and asked the same question! In the world we live in today where people are trying to make ends meet, I really dislike deceiving companies like this. I have had my 2021 Lariat in for more warranty work than I ever had to have on my 1998 Ford 150. Regardless, this location refuses to repair a factory default on my tailgate bed liner. They say it's wear and tear. Been waiting three days now for the GM to call me for a meeting. I will not quit. But I recommend going to Temple or Georgetown. Soldiers beware. read more

Every time we come here, we have an appointment. Every time we wait over 2 hours. Why have appointments of you don't plan to honor them? Once again over 2 hours and still waiting....with an appointment!!! They are nice and friendly but don't honor time or appointments. Always wanting to "add services" not needed. Sales department specialize in ripping off people. My car was used. No high mileage, bought, Driven a couple 100 miles brought back. They sold it to me as new. Should have been at least $6-8,000 less. Kelly blue book backed me on this. They refused. They are not the only cat place around here to be this bad. Seems to be a Killeen thing. Without question, the worst car buying experience I've ever had. I recently purchased a new Mustang from Automax and although they are nearly 90 miles from my home in south Austin, I made the trip as they had the model and color I wanted. To "save time," I ran the numbers online, included my VIN with the trade in, and was pre-approved by Ford Finance. I got to the dealership upon opening. My salesman was perfectly nice. I had arranged a test drive which took a bit, because the car I wanted was on the showroom floor and needed to be moved out. Mind you, I arranged the drive the day before. This could have been done in advance. After the drive, we went to work on numbers. Keep in mind, I had already done the footwork. They came back, offered me less on the trade than I had worked out online. We went back and forth and came to a number. This took two hours between the drive and the haggle. Usually, once you agree to a price, you sign the paperwork and drive away. Not at Automax. I was asked to wait and they'd call me in to sign. I sat in their waiting room for THREE AND A HALF HOURS, waiting to sign paperwork. They have a deal in hand, and just let the customer sit there waiting on their inept finance team. Once I got called in, it was another hour as the guy assigned to me went through my papers. Six and a half hours is too long to buy a car. This dealership sucks. Never again. I have never been so disappointed in a business. I have purchase vehicles from Automax in Killeen and they have done all the service work for years for both personal and for my farm business. Clearly the new ownership doesn't understand or care about customer service. My F350 pickup developed an oscillation in the front, about the time I received a recall notice to take it to a Ford service center and have it repaired for free. On Monday, I scheduled and appointment for Wednesday morning and asked to talk to the service writer, I was told they do not take calls until 11:00 am and one would call me back. On Tuesday, I called back because they never called and was told they do not talk to customers on the phone (I have always been able to speak to a service writer before if needed) and I should just come in and everything would be taken care of for the recall and a lower if they couldn't do the work while I wait. I took off work and arrived 35 minutes before my 7:30 appointment so I could wait for the vehicle. When they opened, the service writer advised me. 1. It would cost $100.00 to diagnose the problem. They would not do the work recall work without the diagnoses. 2. I needed to drop it off and leave the truck. They don't stand behind what they sell any longer. Would not recommend them. read more

Since the new owners have taken over this dealership isn't worth dealing with. They tell you one thing and do another. Then they try to blame you for the information you were given being wrong. They don't follow up on anything and if you call customer service, no one answers the phone. Complaints to Ford Corporate get the same results. They try to call to resolve things and no one is available to talk to them. I will never waste my time with this dealership again. When it's time for a new vehicle I will go somewhere else. I called Automax service center yesterday and explained my check engine light came on. I made an appointment for the following day for 8:00 AM. I arrived on time and was told it would take 7 Days just to run a diagnostic of the problem. I would have had to leave my only source of transportation at Automax. Sales Manager Brian owes me a 2nd key, console vault combo, door entry code, and tire key lock. Been going back and forth for a month trying to get these 4 basic items. Keep getting blown off with an email or just plain non responsive. After spending $85k and having emails that I'm owed these basic items, I've had to waste my time coordinating with local dealerships in DFW and paying more $$$ to get items that Automax should have had ready at time of pickup. If you want to get taken advantage of my all means they are your people! It was actually no surprise to me they have a 1.5 star rating on yelp. I get with the way the market is some prices are fluffed to make a little bit of something on a sale. However this dealership feels it's necessary to put a $10k markup on newer vehicles for the sole reason they are a "hot commodity" steer clear away from dealerships like these. Overall they at very competitive to any dealership I have seen and done business with. They offer food for lunch during the weekends and long business deals that drag you out at times. Trade-in value here is great too but also depends on the condition of your vehicle. They have a great surplus of banks to help you get the best interest rate depending on your credit score and income to debt ratio. Definitely know your worth! After many attempts to speak with Title they ignore my calls or "not available". We are military and moved out of state, we gave them our new address. They sent my extra key (to the right address) and sent my plates to a random address in Texas (not even the right city). I call again and I'm told by the general manager assist to "just register your car in the new state". First our home of record is Texas, we're military and not required to register our vehicle with the state military orders move us to. Second, we already paid for registration in Texas. It's the Title department playing games and the managers not holding the employees responsible. No accountability or integrity in their work. read more

For the simplest task like changing the oil they will keep your vehicle for 3 days and serve you lame excuses about backlog, people called in sick or something like that. Service advisers do not return calls so you have to keep calling and calling in order to find out when you'll get your vehicle back. Service manager is no better, nothing but lame excuses. They changed the transmission fluid. After that the fluid started leaking which it did not do before. I brought it back, again kept it for 3 days and it's still leaking. I'm going to a different dealer now, no matter how far I have to drive. This is the worst place ever! don't bring your car there for service. First they offered us 6k on our trade. I showed my offer from another dealer which was 13k. Then they said ok we'll match the other dealer which was 13 trade. I said ok, however they added 6k add on additional fees to the purchase order which literally just offset the so called matching offer. I had asked for my keys back to leave over 5 times they kept my keys to keep us there. I asked again for my keys to get my medication from my car which they had test drove for appraisal and left on the other side of the lot and didn't tell us. I finally got the keys and and left. Make sure if you shop here that you look closely at your purchase order a vehicle that was listed at 19,998 came out to 27k and change. That is just bad business and extremely unethical practice. The listing also says click here for a lower price, the salesperson said that's just to get people to come in. We don't actually give a lower price. But At the end of the day Should be listing price plus TTL only. Maybe some doc fees and other smaller additional items. They had additional 1599 for one item another 1599 for paint ect another 1599 for window bs and the list goes on. I have purchased 3 cars with Auotmax Ford so it is only fitting that when I am in the market I check with them first. This interaction REALLY disturbed me. a 2020 2.7L Crew cab STX base truck 4x4 is approx 35-37k as a sales price after all discounts and rebates at most Ford dealerships. keep in mind this is a cloth base truck with lots of blank spots. ( This is not a get 0% and 1 million days no payment pay MSRP deal I am referencing. ) I decided to put in a request for a vehicle I saw on Cars.com that had an approx 5" lift and 16-17" wheels and oversized tires aftermarket. The price online showed 38900. This was about 2-3k higher than a typical BASE STX 4x4 crew cab. I reached out to see what the price was and was shocked at a 49k sales price. I thought we must have the wrong truck. It was the right Truck. I have purchased a 2017 and a 2018 F150 XLT from Covert and worked with their accessories teams ( They all use the same outfitter companies ) 1200-1900 cost for the wheels and tires and then 1200-1600 for a lift and level. WHERE in THE HELL they got a 14-15k mark up is ridiculous and fully exploiting #Fords BLOATED MRSRP sticker prices. Also, i still think its borderline illegal and deceptive trade to list your Truck all over sites with a sales price that does not include the accessories because you know you are ripping people off. If any of you are dumb enough to pay this for an STX with a bare bones lift and wheel kit you are crazy as well. The part that troubled me the most was the shitty and combative demeanor of the sales person texting with me when I pushed back. Needless to say I am angry that I ever spent a dollar at this dealership and I can tell you it wont happen again. I will also make sure in my line of work ( Which is Relationship building and sales and referrals.... ) I will NOT ever tell people to buy from this dealer again. NEVER. I replaced the 12v battery in my 2013 Lincoln MKZ hybrid myself. 15 minutes! There is a battery Management system sensor that requires resetting when the battery is disconnected. My code reader would not reset so I took it to Automax in Killeen, Tx. They pulled the car in and 15 minutes later told me it was a $75 1/2 hr job! I literally showed them. Video of the 2 minutes required to complete the BMS reset! No diagnostics, no mechanical, just hit to buttons and reset! Will drive farther to be treated as a real loyal customer somewhere else! read more

I called to make an appointment for an oil leak and the earliest appointment was a week later. No problem, but when I went to my appointment I was told 3-5 days before they even look at my truck. Why would you schedule an appointment if you can't honor the appointment for 3-5 days?? People have work and schedules, 3-5 days was only for the initial look and then parts can be ordered. The last several times that I brought in my 2O13 Ford Mustang and 2006 Ford Explorer for services were uncomfortable thanks to their Service Manager - Billy Stinson. Within the first year of owning my 2nd Mustang from Automax Ford, it was discovered that I had a leak from what I recall around my differential/ wheel area in which Mr. Stinson informed my me that it was a small leak that occurs in Mustangs and FORD is aware of it. I could bring it back at another time appearing CAe The last time I brought it up, Mr. Stinson initially appeared to have amnesia, then stated it would cost $300+ out of pocket to repair because my warranty was up. By then, I'm dumbfounded. This could have been repaired while my warranty was active. Not only that, I was to receive my first 10 oil changes free of charge. That did not happen until I spoke with another rep about it two years after purchasing the Mustang. So, I drove straight to Benny Boyd of Lampasas and practically gave them my Mustang AND Explorer - only to return home with a beautiful 2020 Chrysler - Which I'm quite impressed with. I vowed not to EVER darken the doors of Automax of Killeen because of how I had been treated by their service manager and have completely severed my ties with the FORD brand. Truth be told, my father purchased this vehicle as a gift for me, and as much as it hurt to do so, I got rid of it and my Explorer so that I would NEVER have to interact with their service manager Billy Stinson - EVER AGAIN. Thje only reason I stop by was because I was looking at a Transit 350 XLT that had a number saying WOW! $19,980 so when I saw that I knew that could not be the price, but that is a good discount on a 2017, 47,000.00 van. Man I was wrong, so first the manager low ball me on my trade that is worth 17k on a trade he ofered me 14k. Then he told me that the numbers in the van's windshield were wrong and there was no way that he could honor that. I have the picture of the discount price of their van's windshield in my cell and they told me that it was a mistake. I do not know how it is on a dealership but when a store list a price by mistake 99% of the time they honor that price! Hard to believe how bad this dealership has messed up and continues to remain unhelpful. here is what happened. I saw a new 2020 F250 platinum I wanted online. I called and told them I wanted to put money on it to hold it until I was able to get to Texas and pick it up. I live about 11 hours away from Killeen. After they went to "put their hands on the truck" we negotiated that they add in the window tint I wanted and bedliner. During the negotiation they told me that the truck had just gone in to the shop to get the windows tinted so it was to late to get the shade I wanted. that's unfortunate but whatever.. They asked when I would be there to pick up the truck so they could be sure to have the bedliner on and have the truck ready to pickup when I got into town. We called a few days before we left and they told me the truck was getting the liner on, great. On our drive, a few hours from Killeen, we called to make sure EVERYTHING was ready and we could get in and out of the dealership quick as possible. Heres where the beginning of our problems start. We found out that the truck we HAD PUT MONEY ON was wrecked ON THE WAY TO the dealer! It was never even on the lot, much less had the windows tinted and was certainly never sent to get the bedliner on! Huge problem right? I will say that the dealership scrambled to make this deal right and in 24 hours they found a close replacement to the original truck and gave us a little more for our trade in than we had originally discussed as an apology. Were still not done though.. We were only given one key to the truck and the other was to be mailed when the bank gave the go ahead, apparently that's their standard procedure. When we left we asked that they get the door code to us in case we needed it for our long drive home. Days after we got home, we got the code. Now 3 months later we still don't have our spare key OR THE REGISTRATION! We were given a temp tag for an extra month due to covid slowing the process down. We've been driving around for a month on expired tags and no one has answers on where our plates are. We're also still waiting on the key. Ive talked to my sales man and the manager multiple times trying to get the key. The sales person stopped responding a long time ago and the manager, when he replies, keeps telling me he will look into it. But here we are, 3 months later with out plates or a spare key. I live about an hours drive from Kileen so I made sure I contacted them to make sure said vehicle was available. They confirmed it and we set up an appointment. They even called me on route to make sure I was coming and that I knew where to go. When I arrived the showroom was empty except for one sale guy. I went to reception and told them I was there to see Gerald. I was told Gerald was at lunch. ?????? I got assigned a new guy, Keith, who seems like a stand up dude. Wish I could give a lower rating, after you buy a 50k vehicle the customer service is over. 12k miles on 2022 explorer and the suspension is done. Wife drove it there to be told they could do a diagnostic in 3 days. Wife explained you can see where the seals are out and leaking all over. Vehicle is bottoming out. No one would even touch it or look at it. But boy did they show us the sodas, movie room and had all the service managers shake our hands when we were buying. I called 3 times and they said a manager would not come to the phone and speak with me. You are to leave a name and number and message so they can research before speaking to me.
