1-Star Review for RT28 Motors - 137 Main St, North Reading, MA…read more I bought a used 2017 RAM 2500 from RT28 Motors, and the experience has been extremely disappointing and costly. Within days, the truck failed the Massachusetts state safety inspection for major issues including: * Bad ball joints and tie rods * Broken side mirrors * Steering concerns * Suspension and emissions failures These weren't cosmetic issues -- they were safety violations that made the truck illegal to drive. Before the inspection, I had already raised concerns about the steering. I was told it was "just a wheel balance" and brushed off with "Are you a mechanic?". I was also promised in writing that repairs would be handled once the bank funded the deal. After they got paid, they delayed registration for nearly a month, preventing me from getting it inspected within the state's Lemon Law window. That's not just frustrating -- it's deceptive. By the time I could inspect it, I had to pay over $2,500 out of pocket for parts, labor, and a wheel alignment -- just to make the truck safe and legal. Now, after providing receipts, the failed inspection report, and documented communication, I've been ignored. Since posting about my experience, I've received multiple statements from other customers who say they also received vehicles with incorrect or unsafe parts installed. That's a pattern -- not a one-off. I'm not someone looking for a handout. I'm self-employed, sober 7 years, and a father of four -- including a newborn. I did what I had to do to keep my family safe. I've filed a Chapter 93A demand and will pursue legal action if needed. If you're considering buying here, think twice and get everything in writing -- including a full third-party inspection before you sign anything.

I am writing this review to let people know that Liberty Chevrolet in Wakefield is awesome and…read morehighly recommend them. I bought a 10 year old 2016 Chevy Sonic from them and discovered the A/C had an issue. The A/C was working but was leaking freon around the A/C compressor which unfortunately was not covered under the 90 day warranty. I reached out to Liberty "after" the sale where I had to pay to replace the A/C compressor and while Liberty really had no obligation to cover they offered me compensation to make right which I really appreciated. Again they stand behind their sales even after the fact so you will be in good hands if you choose Liberty!

I want to start this off by being fair, our direct Sales guy Herve was great. He was friendly…read moreresponsive even after hours so the content of this review is not a reflection on him. I brought my 2024 Chevy Trax in with an very apparent engine knock. I had heard reports on this issue and was expecting the worst (Engine replacement with a long wait time). I had made an appointment for a Tuesday but had to have the vehicle towed there the Friday before, GM wanted to tow it to a different dealer but I stuck with Liberty. I left a message for the service department explaining the situation and asking to get a follow-up call back. Days went by and I heard nothing. My appointment day came and despite calling back multiple times the phone was never answered and voicemails never lead to a callback. The Friday after my appointment arrived with the dealer having my car a week and still nothing, me and my father (co owner of the vehicle) reached out to sales to get in touch with service. Only at this point did we finally get in touch with someone only to find out the vehicle has not even been taken on a diagnostic drive. We were assured it would be looked at immediately and we would get a call back in a few hours. I checked periodically the MyChevrolet App to see if they were driving it as it does tracking, come to find out my vehicle was parked 10 miles away in the middle of Salem. Now I work in the industry but I dont see many Techs taking a vehicle with a very obvious low end knock on a 20 mile "diagnostic ride" to a random spot in another town/city. We confronted about this the service department became flustered. We were then told the car could not be looked at until the following Tuesday because they need to tear apart the engine but it is now too hot to work on. Through all this I had been in contact with sales on potentially trading it in for a 2026 Trax as my 60k mile warranty was almost up on the 24. I wanted at this point to go elsewhere however they had my car that would ultimately be a trade in so I was basically stuck. My sales guy was able to find an upgrade I wanted and this is where things got worse. They offered me 1k less on trade then I was hoping so I countered and said I would walk for less because the financing wouldn't work, that where their sales manager came in. To start off this guy was extremely condescending. He starts off with a nice Power Move handshake (for lack of a better description the text book Donald Trump pull handshake) like he was showing his dominance. Which validates some of the other reviews here especially from Women being intimidated. He had a snarky answer for everything and responded like we were the dumbest people on the planet (I work in the industry, and my father grew up in it, his father retired from GM). They agreed to my terms but again a snarky attitude when I simply asked that I keep the basically brand new tires on my 24 and have those swapped to the 25 which I would pay for (this benefits them as they can now list my old car as having brand new OEM factory tires). We got passed along to Blake at this point in financing. We went in asking for a GM extended warranty however they wanted us to get their All State service plan stating it was better, when we countered saying they make more commission they said thats not true and they do it because its better than GMs and they care about their customers (after some research the All State plan doesn't mandate OEM parts are used, allows for negotiation of labor rates, and of course they make a higher commission selling it). We stood firm and got what we thought was an extended warranty, turns out is basically a service contract that I still need to pay a $100 deductible on which we don't remember being told because we were never given the documents for the warranty and were show the wrong documents and finance numbers multiple times during the process which added to the confusion. When we questioned the dealership about this after the fact when we found out it wasn't a warranty and we have a deductible (only found out because I noticed the warranty paper work was not included in what we received and reached for it to be sent over which it was however filled out and unsigned) we were told by Blake that he would not have forgotten to mention it because and I quote "he is a machine". There was questions about validity of signatures on said documents as we got sent unsigned documents twice however at this point its not a concern and could be a simple accident, however that doesn't change the fact that I was lead to believe it was a "WARRANTY" and not a service contract but now Im stuck with it as I paid for $2,000 for it. To wrap this up DO NOT GO HERE! They are condescending unprofessional and practice intimidation tactics as well as numerous instances of situations that were borderline bait and switch. Personally if I was GM I would kick them to the curb as a dealer. Word of advice find a Dealer that is still family owned.

Did not disclose that the minivan had a salvage/reconstructed title at all. When I returned to get my money back after realizing what they had sold me and doing the CARFAX history (which revealed that the car was deemed severely damaged at auction on 10/25/2017) on the car they attempted to lie and trick me into thinking I had to keep the vehicle. They were unaware I had been in contact with a lawyer. They continued to lie but eventually realized they had to give me my money back. When the man that actually sold us the car arrived he yelled at me and said that I should have looked into the vehicle more before buying it. When I explained what he did was illegal he yelled at me again and loudly stomped off. I ended up putting a stop on the check so I did get my money back despite their attempts to keep it. I attempted to leave a review on their FB page but they blocked me and deleted my review.

Firestone Danvers Review…read more Original Date of Service: April 2023 for new breaks 2nd Date of Service: November 02, 2023 Service Requested: Inspection of front right wheel after hitting pothole, rear brakes screech when in reverse, vehicle shaking when travelling 60mph and when breaking. Findings and suggested repairs: - Screeching cause: Rear brake pads and rotors were worn down badly. They were replaced under warranty. Notice: They were new as of April 2023. - Vibration cause: Front calipers were "sheared", the brake pads and rotors were severely worn needing replacement, realignment needed. Notice: All breaks and rotors were replaced in April 2023 at this same location. November 3rd the manager (Gordy) called to confirm findings and quoted $638 to fix the front wheels He advised the calipers aren't covered under warranty because they weren't replaced in April. The rear pads and rotors were replaced under warranty from April 2023. I asked how both calipers were "sheared" and to describe what he meant but Gordy couldn't provide an answer, he said he had no idea how they were "sheared" and the calipers were in such bad shape they need to be replaced "immediately" for our safety. We agreed to wait on the repairs until I call back. November 4th, I called Gordy to let him know the cost of the front wheels will be covered by my insurance. He immediately stated "Well then, we also have to replace both front control arms" which were never discussed before, making the final cost $3k+. The Second Opinion: Location: Smaller local repair shop in Salem. (Not a national chain) Estimate requested for: Front / rear brakes along with all components for possible replacement if needed, the vibration and the screeching of the back wheels. The results: Vehicle's brakes passed inspection. - Front brakes, calipers, rotors, and control arms were found to be in good condition considering the age of the vehicle. The brakes were estimated at 6 - 8 months old and had good life left. - The rear brakes were also 6 - 8 months old and still had plenty of life left too. After his inspection and the owner of the shop took the time to show me physically each piece and what it would look like if it were at the end of its life and how absurd Gordy's quote was for services not needed. The Insurance Adjustor's findings: November 4th my insurance claims adjustor called to discuss what the Damage Adjustor found: - No damage to the control arms - No damage to front wheel calipers - Rotors and pads did not need to be replaced Ultimately, the insurance company denied the claim siting the lack of damage. After hearing this I shared my finding with the adjustor. My adjustor was shocked that Firestone tried to make money off of this situation. Although there are no legal actions to take, I can only warn those reading this to use caution when considering bringing your vehicle to any Firestone. Summary: After my experience at Firestone with Gordy, Sean and Mike I requested to speak with the District Manager. Gordy told me he can only take my information and pass it on to him. He assured me that the DM would reach out within two business days which never happened. Could it be that the Firestone in Danvers is following the instructions of their senior management to take advantage of their customers and find ways to make money??
