**Caution** Today, I went to AutoHaus for a simple state inspection and to have a reverse light bulb replaced on my car. I even brought my own bulbs--this should have been a quick, easy job. Instead, I was stuck there for an outrageous hour and 17 minutes for something that should have taken 20 minutes max. And that's being generous. I've changed these bulbs myself before. It's a 5-7 minute job with two bolts to remove. The inspection itself? 10-15 minutes, tops. Then came the real slap in the face: $76!! $12 for the inspection. $64 for labor. - TO INSTALL BULBS I PROVIDED. At no point did anyone bother to tell me how long this would take, or what it would cost. And when I rightfully called them out on it, the employee had the nerve to be dismissive and condescending. Instead of addressing my concerns, he sarcastically asked, "Well, why didn't you do it yourself?" To which I replied, "Because I can't do an inspection myself, and I thought it would be easier to do them at the same time." For comparison, I called another local shop after the fact. They quoted me $10-$15 for the same job, plus the $12 inspection. And guess what? They would have had it done in a fraction of the time. Let me be crystal clear: AutoHaus ripped me off! They wasted my time, overcharged me, and treated me like my concerns didn't matter. If you value your money and your patience, take your business elsewhere. read more

I was quick with the review I posted. When the Autohaus team "fixed" my sons car in one day, we were shocked. However, once we got it home, it began dying, and acting so strange. The turbo wouldn't engage, car would idle all over the place and die. They thankfully had it towed to them, at no cost to us. They then said it was a solenoid. Got it fixed, car still wouldn't engage the turbo. My 17 year old son found the problem; they didn't attach the charge pipe. Very disappointing service. Had to find new service center for our 2018 Mercedes after the local dealer closed. Tried Autohaus but unfortunately encountered dealership prices but nowhere near dealership service! Went in for a B service, oil change and tire rotation, and asked them to check musty smell from ac when first starting car, which is generally fixed by cleaning the evaporator. Dropped the car off in the morning and were told they would call when ready. We called at 4:30pm as we hadn't heard from them and were told "it's ready, just didn't call", and we live 30" away.... So we pick up our car and are presented with a $450 bill. $200 for oil change, $50 for tire rotation and $200 for diagnostic and cabin filter. So in comments the tech wrote "ac blows cold, changed cabin filter (which was very recently changed) and said "if this doesn't work we'll have to do further diagnostics", $100 for "diagnostics" and $100 for cabin filters that didn't need to be replaced, smell still there. then on top of everything, we leave shop and tire pressure warnings come on. they rotated tires but didn't readjust air pressure since they are different from front to back. Wife had to take car back today and was not impressed with their attitude. Needless to say we are looking for a new service center. read more

great people with an honest attitude and if they can't help you they won't waste your time or try to over sell you on repairs. They are a little bit out of the way but I like that, the lot has a nice fence around it and I feel safe leaving my cars there over night. I think the women who picks up the phone could work a little on her customer service skills but once in the shop anyone I've talked to were friendly and open. I like that they are AAA endorsed and associated with Napa but independent. read more

My family was moving my son back to Indiana from Southern California when the air conditioner compressor locked up and we were stranded near Joplin, MO. The AAA tow truck driver took our vehicle to Autohaus for evaluation. This place was very busy but when the lady in the office found out we were stranded, she called about parts and worked us in the next day. They were a week out on appointments but gave our situation a priority. We were able to get home the next night. These people are outstanding and would be very deserving of your business if you live in that area. We are very grateful for what they did. AAA+ service! read more

Our VW Touareg started having trouble in Joplin as we were traveling from Chicago to Dallas. We pulled in to Autohaus and told them our situation and they checked it out right away. They were also honest that the expected problem might have been beyond their ability to fix in a timely manner and recommended we send it to the dealership. They gave us a ride to the car rental place and helped deal with the tow truck company after we had left. Super friendly and compassionate to our situation. read more

God Bless these folks! We've just moved to Joplin, and our VW got sick. After talking with several other places, they took us in and fixed our car, quickly. In the long run, they even saved us some money. And a 2 year warranty, who does that anymore? So kind and so honest, really good folks. We won't be taking our cars anywhere else. Went in to fix my fuel pump issue. When I was told the price, I checked around another place that would do it for quite a bit cheaper. I went back and told the woman at the desk that I planned to go elsewhere to fix it because it was cheaper. After I told her she returned my keys to me but was fairly rude about it. I wouldn't recommend this place. Find a cheaper place with courteous staff. read more

It's taken me a few years to write this review, but I can't say enough positive things about this shop. I was driving from Southern California to Chicago when my Audi started to experience issues in Texas. I stopped at a foreign auto repair place in Amarillo that charged me $200 to tell me it was my catalytic converter and send me on my way. The car had many other issues than just the catalytic converter. My car leaked oil constantly from Texas to Missouri. I was filling my oil every 30 minutes. I was very fortunate to find this place while I was stuck in Joplin. The owner (I don't remember his name) called the parts distributor in Springfield and asked the driver to turn around to go back and get the part. It was a Friday and if they didn't go back and get it they wouldn't have it until Monday. I started a new job on Monday. I was in a real bind and they did not take advantage of my situation. They charged me a fair price, repaired the problem, and the owner even gave me a ride back to my hotel while they worked on my car. This would be my repair shop if I lived in the area. My husband and I toured Route 66 in May, and when we got to Joplin, our BMW Z4 began acting odd. We called Autohaus and they got us in right away. Turned out to be a serious tire problem, so they called the tire store with whom they normally deal. We were out of Joplin and on our way again the next morning. The folks at Autohaus went above and beyond what they needed to do to help us out. We really appreciate the service they provided. We finished our amazing Route 66 adventure with style!! I hit part of a truck tire on a cross country trip. It was bad. AAA came and towed my car to this Autohaus in Joplin, which was very lucky as my car needed significant repairs. Everyone was very polite and professional, and they got me back on the road within 4 hours... so if you ever have car trouble anywhere near Joplin, MO, I definitely recommend using Autohaus! read more

Had been a customer for 5-6 years, and had no problems, they are overpriced, but thought worth it. Two months ago I needed a power wire ran from battery to hitch on rear bumper for scooter lift. Rusten quoted me as price of 95 -100 about an hour of time. I have been a mechanic for over 60 years, and know it is a quick fix. So I suckered in, and wound up setting in waiting room for 3.5 hours. They had no wire supplies, had to call O'Reilly's for every piece, from plain wire to terminals and fuse holder. Then they charged me $297.84, seems they charged me from time ran in shop until backed it out. Claimed their mechanic worked only on it for the whole time. With my missing foot, and stroke on other foot, I could have done the job in maybe hour and half. Then on top of that,. they twisted off the key to my scooter, trying to use it on the lift. So they just lost a good customer, of several years and I am telling everyone I see what a rip off they did on me, will never darken their door again and discourage everyone I come into contact with to do the same. By the way I had my own business for 15 years and grew up in my dad's shop dealing with the public, and know how to treat people and be fair. read more
