Just had routine services done this month at local dealership including rotation. SEVERAL lugs stripped or broken so clearly whoever the newb was that put the wheels back on air wrenched them not paying attention to how they were threaded. Went in to have my AC checked, the mechanic said he thought it was a specific part but had to take it out and check. After leaving my car for him to check the part he showed it to me and confirmed the part was bad. Proceeded to quote me $250 for new part and labor. Came back a few hours later to pick up my car and was told it was $800. $250 for the post replacement and $550 for the freon. When I questioned the guy at the desk he told me that replacing the freon was needed as part of the work. They never disclosed that in the beginning. The guy at the desk apologized repeatedly and gave me a $50 discount "for my trouble" then blamed the mechanic saying his English wasn't the best. Extremely shady way to run a business, I've also filed a complaint with the state and city, fortunately my credit card company agreed this transaction was fraudulent and reversed the charge for the freon. I would completely avoid this place but if you must go there, get your quote in writing prior to letting them do anything. You try to trust people and they take advantage of you, not a way to run a business. read more

He gave me the price exactly at cost, up-front and recommended a coffee shop across the street if I wanted to wait 20-30 min for the car to be ready. (Really cool coffee shop by the way.... Relaxing vibe and got a bunch of work done while I waited) When the car was ready, instead of calling my phone, he walked over to the coffee shop and came to give me some details on price. Updated: the store manager was really apologetic for not waiting for me the other night. They finished the body paint a day earlier than expected, am happy with the service they provided. __________________ It was more expensive than I expected, but I was told the work had to be done. They also performed more services than I originally went in for, again saying it was necessary. Overall, I'm fine with the work--nice people, and the price seems fair. However, I had to drop my car off again. I called ahead to let them know I'd be 10 minutes late, and they said it was fine. But when I arrived, the garage was closed, and no one was there. I called their number and waited nearby for 10 minutes, but no one contacted me. I understand it was after business hours, but they assured me it was okay to be a little late. I drove 1.5 hours from the suburbs, only to find out they closed on time and didn't wait for me. Such a disappointment. read more

I took my car in for an A/C recharge, and not only did they give me a far better quote than any nearby shop, they also tested my system for leaks, and offered me to bring it back in for free if there were any further issues. I sat waiting in their office for my diagnosis and listened intently as Gary the owner fielded phone call after phone call about cars and pending repairs. He knows his stuff and the theme that came across in all of my eavesdropping was that this guy was here to serve! Trying to save folks money via his knowledge and experience came through with each call he faced. No sales pitch just honest opinions and ideas. My car problem was no acceptation - the computer diagnosis came back with the fact that I needed a new 12 volt accessory battery not an expensive emissions repair. Gary was honestly upset that they did not have the part in stock, he found a local battery store that stocked it. Negotiated a cost on my behalf and told me how to replace the battery on my own. Bonus was he waived my diagnostic charge and sent me on my way with the knowledge that I could do the repair myself. I came here to do suspension work on my 2014 Audi Q5 in late September 2023. I saw the reviews on Yelp and thought, maybe this place could handle the job. After a decade of only taking my car to Audi, I thought I had found a trusted alternative. I called the shop and it was answered by a gentleman who said I could bring the car in and they could take a look. This place said that only one of the repairs Audi said needed to be done was urgent but I could wait on the other repair. The gentleman was very nice over the phone and sounded very trustworthy. When I asked if they could do the repairs, they said absolutely, they would just need some time to get the Audi parts. They charged me $4,500 for an axle, bushings and lower control arms. I could have paid that at Audi - but I assumed they were competent and took them at their word - and using Audi parts as they stated. That was my mistake. About a week later as I'm driving to my sister's wedding, I hear what sounds like a flat tire. I pull over and I realize that there's this large plastic flap that had fallen - and I can't pull it off. I had no idea what this thing was, but I knew I needed to keep going. It eventually comes completely off. I call them the next day and ask if I can bring the car in - because my car was just in a week ago and this large plastic thing flew off of my car. They tell me that I'd have to leave the car and that they have too many cars right now. Frustrating response - but I digress. 2.5 months later, I make a 3 point turn and I hear a large crank from the same area they supposedly just repaired. Even at that point I thought to myself - oh it must be the cold - it can't possibly be the same area I just had fixed 2 months ago. Later in January I hear the noise again and a third time while parking in February and I say to myself - I should probably get this checked out. I went on chat gpt and asked what the noise could be and low and behold, control arms and bushings came up. I gave New Autohaus a call again about my repairs and got the same response as last time. I could leave the car but that they were busy. I then decide to just take it into Audi to make sure nothing is wrong and to my surprise, I was horrified by what they showed me. It was clear that I had after-market parts installed, re-used bolts that weren't supposed to be re-used, after market hardware in other areas that wasn't the right size, holes that were made bigger so the wrong screw could fit and screws inserted the wrong way. Some of the bolts were over torqued (never knew this word before), damaging my steering knuckle, cracking it - costing me another $2,800 to repair. The axle that they replaced was actually loose - the bolt was barely still on. To say I was mortified would be an understatement. Thank God I don't drive that much, because the mechanic at Audi told me that with the work they had done, if I had hit a big bump, my tire could have just fallen off. I have no idea what would have happened if the bolt holding my control arms fell off. When they showed me loose screws where my belly pan should have been - I became instantly enraged. All this time I had given them the benefit of the doubt and it hadn't even been screwed back in properly. The screws were literally just flapping around. If they didn't have the parts or the know how to repair the suspension on an Audi - they could have just said that. They didn't though and they charged me top dollar for work that I ultimately had to do again, plus purchase new parts for ones that they damaged. It's obvious I won't be back - and I have certainly learned my lesson. Any serious car matters on foreign vehicles - I'm taking it back to the dealer. Just as an FYI - you might want to check out their better business rating. Now I know to cross check there too. read more

I needed my upper and lower control arms replaced on my Audi S4 and they got back to me with MUCH more reasonable quote than the dealership and they were able to get me in that day! When I came to pick it up, they showed me my chewed up bushings and even took care of a stripped rotor set screw in one of my rear brake rotors, which had me pulling my hair out previously. Everyone was extremely personable and VERY accommodating and definitely knew their stuff. I also had some questions about some "maybe" items and they weren't shy about telling me that they could wait if I wanted to but that they'd be happy to take care of them when they get a bit worse. I had an amazing experience at Auto House with Javier. My Acura MDX started shaking and showing warning lights, and I first took it to McGrath Acura of Westmont. Ed told me that it was a fuel system issue and needs replacement quoted me a repair cost north of $2,500. That seemed excessive, so I got a second opinion at Auto House. Javier quickly diagnosed the actual issue--just the spark plugs and coils needed replacing--and charged me only $1,218. The car runs perfectly now. Its been a ride for me. Today 02/20, I am feeling helpless. So I had to write the entire sequence. I will keep you all informed. I have taken my Honda accord to AutoHaus for the starter grinding issue. 1st visit: Dropped the car Car was kept for 3-4 days, Autohaus did analysis and found that my car needs a new torque converter (as per the torque converter design. flywheel is welded to the torque converter) and new starter to address the starter grinding issue. (Estimate $4700 with the new waterpipe and timing belt) 2nd Visit: Felt the sudden jerks after the delivery I paid $4700 and took the delivery, While driving back home I felt heavy jerks in lower speed. It was so scary for me. So I took the car back to the shop. They kept the car for a day and it was informed that the cable was loose. They gave the car back on the next day. 3rd visit: No smoothness in the transmission which was never there before I was feeling a sudden slip in the transmission in lower speed (20-25 speed at 1500 rpms). Garry took the test ride and said comeback in few days will do transmission fluid change. it might solve the problem 4th visit: No smoothness in the transmission Garry kept the car for a day and did the fluid change. He reported that transmission has other issue which he didn't touch. While coming back I didn't feel much improvement. I took my car for a road trip thinking that the issue will resolve over time. But.... no improvement 5th visit: Reported the same issue Autohaus is still having my car since last 5-6 days. 2 days back Anthony reported that transmission has issues. when I countered that issue was never there before except the starter grinding issues. He mentioned that he will take the car to Honda dealership for further diagnosis. I will be visiting today 02/20 to get an update. Update 02/20 6th visit: to get an update Anthony informed me that he acknowledge the issue and tried to fix it. But failed. So they gave the car to Honda dealership for further diagnosis. Antony said someone from the dealership will call and provide the information. But no one called me yet. I am again going to AutoHaus to get the dealership information. I just want to see my car 7th visit: Visit to McGrath Honda (in Grand Ave) I met with Mc Grarth Honda Service manager (Jeremy). Explained him the reason of coming and the issue that i am facing. He assured me that he will diagnose the issue further. I requested him to give me the honest opinion on the mechanical issue so that I can take a call. Update 02/21 I got a call from Mc Grarth Honda Service manager (Jeremy). As per him, my car needs a new transmission and he certified the work AutoHaus did. Yes YOU HEARD it RIGHT.
