Mahalo Auto Zone Pearl City! All of you were so amazing. I was having a rough week. It started off with just having to buy new brake pads and rotors. But it also escalated to having to also buy more brake fluid and order brake calipers too. (Also super awesome is that I placed the order for the calipers on a Sunday. I was told that they wouldn't arrive until Wednesday thru Friday. But guess what?!?! I got a call on Tuesday, and they were there already!) And then having to reset my car battery! Omg.... On my last visit, I was in considerable pain shooting from my back down my leg. Justin and his co-worker provided a chair for me to sit on while he went to fetch my part. After I paid for the part, Justin walked me out to my car and offered to help me step down from the curb. I just saw him in Walmart a little while ago. Call roadside assistance and car dealership. Not helpful at all. I end up at auto zone. Uncle Mane helped initially then uncle Ben came out to help me add coolant to my car. Ample amount of parking every time I passed as this Autozone is tucked in a corner away from the other shops so less crowded. Reviewing based off of my experience today as I noticed yesterday my car battery was dead and I had to get it jumped by a co worker after work. This morning before work and after work, my car was able to turn over as I turned the key in my ignition but almost didn't want to start. Knowing that my car was probably due for a battery replacement and that Autozone offers free battery testing to verify prior to purchase, I went straight to this location. Upon entry I was greeted by Kaui who also helped me. I asked him if he was able to do battery testing and was able to verify I had a bad battery and assisted me with finding the best replacement battery and also was able to assist me replace it as I'm 7 months pregnant and not allowed to carry certain weight like a car battery. His customer service was so excellent. He was kind, courteous, and very efficient. Since I entered the store till me leaving with a new battery, I was in and out within 20 minutes! He also didn't try to upsell me on anything I didn't need but tried to find what was right for me and my situation. They also offer first responder/military discount which I had no idea about and was able to use. Also note they give you a credit toward your purchase for recycling your old battery. Hubby and I occasionally come here to get whatever my car needs. They open up at 7:30 am. Plenty of parking up front. It's right next to TJ Maxx. The store has everything you need from batteries to filers, etc. Hubby knows more about cars and knew exactly what my car needed. I turned on my air and it had a bad smell so hubby picked up something that would clear that smell out and it worked. I had to run the ac for awhile to get the smell out and it works fine now. I didn't have any issues as hubby went inside himself. He came in and came out quickly. read more

Avoid coming to this place save your money and time. These people don't know how to work with customers and they just relying on their machine to test the starter. Bought a starter about 3months ago and today starter just stopped working, i just hear the starter spinning not contacting to the flywheel (battery is new).i took the starter back to this location (feb 13 about 8:15am) and the worker took it and placed it in the tester, she said it good so they cant warranty it, i ask her if i buy a new one and if the new one works can i return the defective one for refund, she went and ask the manager and the manager came and told me nope we cannot warranty it because its working. I told them yah it might work on that tester because the motor is good , i know it spins because i can hear it spinning when i try to start the car but the problem is its not turning the flywheel and they told me maybe the flywheel is missing tooth thats why its just spinning. Smh! So they just say no we cant help you. So then i bought a new one at oriellys and fixed the issue. I will not be coming to this place ever again and i dont recommend anyone on this location. I dont understand, this starter has lifetime warranty what so hard to warranty it, it might be working on your tester but not when its on the car. these people working here seems like they never work on cars before relying on the tester. I come here often because of the convenience, but truly the worst customer service I have experienced. One or two times, you give them the benefit of the doubt that they are having a bad day...but after several times and the same people it becomes unforgiving. It seems as they intentionally ignore you and do not like helping people. I can be the first in line and the worker will be on his phone behind the counter and not say anything. It's not until I say "excise me, are you open?" Then he'll say yes. SMH. There are so many jobs out there. This being the closest auto parts store to me, brings me here for various things...During the pandemic, I came here to use the OBD2 scanner and one of the guys actually came out and got the reading for me for transmission trouble. I got the P codes and had the problem addressed for that vehicle. Come 12/26, I got the flashing transmission indicator and went back to this store. The "parts manager" (whatever that means, it was on his name tag) was very abrupt, unfriendly and totally unhelpful. I KNOW FOR A FACT that I scanned for transmission codes last time. He tried to tell me that they NEVER had a scanner for anything but engine reading "in the 5 years I've been here". Ok, you're calling me a liar, or stupid or both. Nice. Not a smile, sort of sour look on his face speaking to me. It wasn't just him, I saw him interact with other customers, all laughing and smiles. When I asked him about adding transmission fluid, he told me to go to have it done! I KNOW I'm a woman and car guys can be pretty condescending toward females, but I have been a professional driver my entire life, owned my own semi truck and know a bit. Funny thing was, they actually sell an OBD2 scanner that will pick up transmission codes and had it in stock! I'd have bought it on the spot for over a hundred dollars. Sold me the wrong oil filter. While changing o rings for my filter it didn't fit. So I was like maybe it's a missed packaged. Tried the filter and did not fit at all. They are horrible and they gave me attitude. When I asked for the filter number he gave me attitude when he had to repeat himself again. I asked the person are you sure it's going to fit and with attitude he said "yess!!!" Nobody likes working brah but at least put a fake smile on yah face and give someone the RIGHT filter. I've been to this location several times and the service is always 5 stars! Twice the sales person came outside to my car and helped change the windshield wipers. Sure I could have done it myself but it was so nice to have them offer to help. One particular wipe was difficult to come off and then I needed to figure out the correct attachment. For the better part of two years on island with this car, I've had issues with the after market HID bulbs that a previous owner put in. Each time I went in for inspection I had issues. I could never resolve it by getting new bulbs because no one could assist or make me understand how to fix the issue; they simply told me what the current bulbs were with no explanation. The team here at Pearl City AutoZone assisted in explaining what I'd need to do in order to swap back to the normal, authorized bulbs, pass inspection and see at night. It is very refreshing to have that behind me. The team, consisting of Nick, Makana and Chay were able to answer all of my questions and assist me in changing out the bulbs while also bypassing the unnecessary after market equipment. All of this took place while I was getting my car battery charged. Outstanding effort and service on their part. This will be my go to stop for any and all automotive concerns. This place is total BS. I bought a battery about 18 months ago that supposedly has a 36 month warranty. This week my battery has been draining and I can't start my vehicle without being jumped. I came in on Tuesday and a worker used their "scanner" and claimed my batter is at 100% so they can't swap out my battery. Today is Saturday and again my vehicle won't start. I took a video on my phone to show them and also had my neighbor use his scanner which showed my battery is DEAD went back to AutoZone and the worker said it's not enough to put a warranty claim in and I need to just buy a new battery because they won't replace it. Took my battery to their competitor and used their scanner which also confirmed my battery is dead so I ended up buying a battery from them. I will never come here again even though they're 3 mins away from my place nothing but crooks!! read more

I came here looking to buy a battery because I though the one I had was already done for. I had it for almost 4 years so I figured it was time. I go inside and start browsing. The store employee (forgive me brother, I forgot your name but he was working Wednesday night) helped find the right size for my vehicle. He asked me a bit of what was happening so I explained. After hearing me, he tested my battery and told me it was still good, just needed a charge which he proceeded to do! I came back about an hour later and he gave me the battery free of charged! I tried paying for the service because he literally helped me save a lot of money! He said it was free. Was looking to upgrade my lights, headlights, map lights ..you name it, I wanted them changed. Asked the guy at the counter for help and was met with a very rude demeanor. Maybe he had a bad day? Asked what would fit my car and the type of lights I was looking for, headlights and fog lights. He answered, "you don't want fog lights, those are expensive." Appeared in the store. The wait for assistance was minimal. All was good on the customer service side. What was most shocking though was both employees were not abiding by the state mandated mask law. Both did not have a mask on. Yikes! In addition, there were customers in the store without a mask. When I called the number on the window/door sign that says "CURBSIDE PICKUP 808-650-6597" I was told to come inside the store to sign and pickup my order. THIS DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF CALLING IT CURBSIDE AND SHOULD BE REMOVED BECAUSE OF FALSE ADVERTISING. When curbside is available I prefer this option to avoid covid and delta. read more

I happened to open my hood to check my water for my windshield whippers. It was 4:30pm for about 2-3 weeks of driving my mother to all of her Drs. appt. I had noticed my engine was making funny sounds and not much power. Well after opening my hood I noticed my oil cap was not closed the cap was loose and oil had been shooting out all over the inside of my hood. I closed the cap and drove to Auto Zone. Owen was so helpful he looked up what kind of oil I needed for my 2001 civic Honda. He sold me 2 quarts and he even came out to my car and put the oil into my car. Stopped in to pick up a battery for my Tacoma late afternoon. Everyone working was very friendly and welcoming. The gentleman that helped me, I believed his name was Felix offered to change out my battery for me! Which was great, saved me the trip back to return my old battery. In addition to that, he mentioned that I needed to change my battery terminals as they were corroded. When I asked if they sold the part, and if it was a quick fix, he actually changed it for me too.
