Went to buy a new car battery, and asked one of the employees if he could change it out for me. When I had called in earlier, the person I spoke to said they normally don't go out after dark but he thought that it would be okay. When I got there tonight, the boss was outside flirting with/assisting a female customer at her car. When the employee said he would check with the boss to see if he could go out and help swap the battery, the boss said no way.
The only people in the store were 3 employees and myself.
I said ok, if you can't help me change it out, will you please not charge me $18 core fee? I was thinking it would be easy transaction, switch out the old battery for a new one, and not have to not only pay additional $18 fee and not have to make additional trip to bring back the old battery to AutoZone. The boss said he would have to charge.
Bottom line, AutoZone may be lower in price, but they are worthless in customer service.
After zero satisfaction at AutoZone, I went to Batteries Plus. Their batteries were a little more expensive, but I got priceless customer service. The employee came out to my car, (in the dark) and asked about the battery, and tested it. Turns out the battery is actually fine, it may be an alternator problem.
Business must be great for AutoZone because they couldn't care less about mine. read more
