Got backup cam installed. Said 1 year warranty. Stopped working 10 months in. Power still to camera but not appearing on screen. Uses electrical tape instead if solder. Yelled...literally YELLED at me for doubting his work. He gets "offended when people ask him to double check his work" and needed a prepayment to take a look and see what might be wrong. Took it to the dealer prior and they told me they couldn't help and go back to the after market install guy. Idk why he yelled at me that the camera HE INSTALLED stopped working. What good is a 1 year warranty if you're gonna make me pay again anyways? Ps - dealer charged me $0 to take a look. Poor customer service and treatment. Would not reccomend. If I could give zero stars I would! I made an appointment to have a remote starter put in. The day before the appointment he called me while I was at work to make sure if I was still coming or not. I called back the next morning, because that was the first chance I got. He had already scheduled someone else for that time. He said I could drop off the car and he would get to it that day. When I did I went inside to talk to him about scheduling someone over my appointment. After him being rude to me he told me to go somewhere else. He was very unprofessional and rude. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Go to another place and pay a little extra for professionalism. read more

The owner and sole employee of Auto Stero Installations, Bruce, has horrible customer service skills and questionable business practices! In December of 2012, I purchased a gift certificate for a remote starter for my wife for Christmas. In October of 2013, my wife called to schedule an appointment to redeem her gift certificate (which was good for one year). Bruce refused to schedule her stating that the gift certificate had already been used. I went to Auto Stereo the next week to attempt to resolve the matter. Bruce showed me a clipboard with handwritten list of gift certificates that he had sold, pointing out that the gift certificate for "Becky" (my wife) had been crossed out, meaning we had supposedly used the gift certificate already. I presented the gift certificate he personally had written out and had his signature on it. His response was that he had been honoring gift certificates without actually requiring the gift certificate to be turned in, so "it didn't matter that I had the gift certificate" his records showed it had been used already. Upon further inspection of his clipboard, I saw that there was a gift certificate sold to a person named "Betty" for the exact same amount as the gift certificate I had bought for my wife, Becky. I asked him if it was possible that he might have accidentally crossed out "Becky" instead of "Betty" when Betty redeemed her gift certificate. Bruce told me that it was impossible that he made a mistake, and since he is the sole employee, Becky's gift certificate had already been used. I asked him if there was any records he could double check that maybe there was a slight chance that a mistake had been made. Bruce banged on his computer for a few minutes obviously not actually doing anything and blatantly annoyed that I was not letting the issue drop and was planning on requiring him to honor a $260 gift certificate that he had issued. After his "record check" on the computer he told me he had not found anything, but he had recently switched programs and could not access older records without the help of his "computer guy". Before I left (with the understanding that the was going to get his computer guy to double check prior records for a possible mistake), he asked to make a copy of the gift certificate in question. Bruce studied it in front of me for a minute, then went to the back room to make his copy. Once he returned from the back room, he began questioning whether the gift certificate had been altered, claiming that the 2 in 2012 was not in his writing. I found it coincidental that it looked okay until he had taken it to another [private] room to make a copy, but the questionable 2 was never brought up again, so I let that go. I called Auto Stereo a number of times during the next week, without satisfaction. I returned to the store, feeling that it would be a bit harder to ignore me if I was there in person. Bruce finally came up with the idea that it would be fair that if "Betty" did not come in to claim her gift certificate by the time it expired (December 2013), that he would honor Becky's gift certificate. I noticed that he was extremely careful not to admit that it was possible he had been wrong the whole time. I made sure not to agree that this was a fair deal, since we would have to wait two or possibly three more months, but I did agree to let the issue rest until late December. The day after "Betty's" gift certificate expired I stopped in to schedule an appointment to finally use our gift certificate. Bruce and I were able to set up an appointment for the following week. Maybe it was just me, but he seemed much less arrogant and more willing to assist me this time around (could he possibly have come to the realization that he might have been in the wrong this whole time?). At this time he also mentioned to me that he had changed some of his policies regarding gift certificates, including that from now on they would expire after six months and that the physical certificate would be required in order to redeem it (duh!). I decided to wait for awhile to write this review, to see how the remote starter worked out. I have to say that the remote starter works very well and appears to have been professionally installed. Auto Stereo Installations was cheaper than other businesses in the area, which is the main reason I chose to do business there, but in the future I will gladly pay a little extra to deal with a competent and customer focused business. read more
