Beware Nearly every…read moretime I have used them -I have had to return to them either the same day or the next day for an additional problem. I paid for new wipers, but upon leaving they didn't work. Had to go back and had them replaced. (Obviously it was their mistake otherwise they wouldn't have replaced them so quickly upon my return.) Had some engine work done. They said everything was clear. Hours later I had the same problem and then they ended up having my car for over a week in order to fix it. I had my battery replaced. Less than a week later the car wouldn't start and reeked of gas. If you go in for one problem - they find ten more things to charge you for or you end up with additional problems. At first I just figured it was a one time problem, but then it happened every time my husband and I went there. We finally have decided not to return.

We called Top Gear and explained our situation and Dominick said to bring the car in. When we arrived, he immediately looked at the issue and brought the car into a bay. For the next 2 hours, he and his team identified the issue, determined that it couldn't be fully repaired (I.e. a broken gear), but was able to get the roof closed and send us on our way. In the given circumstances, we couldn't have asked for anything better. Dominick and his team were extremely personable. And the cost of the repair was very reasonable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I was disappointed with my experience. I called because I wanted a professional opinion on whether…read moremy brakes actually needed to be replaced. During the phone conversation, I was not informed that there would be a $50 inspection fee just for looking at the vehicle. After inspecting my car, I was quoted approximately $1,500 for pads and rotors on all four wheels. Since that was a significant expense, I wanted to get a second opinion before committing to the repair. At that point, I was told I owed $50 for the inspection. My frustration is not with charging a diagnostic fee itself, but with the fact that it was never discussed beforehand. Had I been informed of the fee when I scheduled the appointment, I could have made an informed decision. Transparency about costs upfront is important, and unfortunately that was missing from my experience.

Car broke down while visiting family and went to here since I used to go to Boonton Tire & Auto…read morewhen I worked next door, assuming it would be the same good work and service. Got an expensive bill for a transmission and had family and old coworkers all telling me to steer clear of of the shop now since it was changed and that I would regret it, but I went through with it anyways. This resulted in a series of being givens false times, being told I would be kept up to date on the progress only to never be in the loop at all, and the final result being poor work done on the vehicle for an exuberant cost. The delays would have been fine if they stopped promising so much as I only went with them because they said it would be done by a certain point and almost cost my partner and I our jobs as we kept giving out new estimated return times to our workplaces and using up what little vacation time we had to just consistently be told to wait longer and longer. Even more work than a transmission was needed in the end and I was not charged, but it was still nonetheless another delay that took another day from us and while not charged for this fix, it was done poorly and I am at my preferred mechanic finally getting it done correctly. The final result after the days of frustration and excuses given out was a car that finally let us go home, albeit now three times as loud and still showing issues from before that I paid for them to fix that I am now paying another person to fix. I should have trusted all my coworkers next door to the shop and family members when they said to not go here, and will be steering clear like the others from now on.
