I have been going to Aamco Hackettstown for years. I should have written this 5 star review years…read moreago. The good news is that over the years the high quality of service and honesty has remained excellent so I can still highly recommend their services. The entire team is knowledgeable and friendly. I had a Lexus that they helped repair and maintain until I traded it in with over 225,000 miles on it. I now have a Honda CRV and I wouldn't take it anywhere else. I've had everything from oil changes, to battery changes, timing belt changes, new brake pads and calipers, recharging AC, cracked wheel bearings, repair of the entire front end after hitting a deer including a new radiator, etc... repaired/serviced by this team. I once must have had water in my gas tank because my car would not start at all. I had it towed to Aamco Htown , they checked it out and it started running. Apparently, there was nothing wrong with it so they were honest and told me there was nothing to fix. If they were dishonest, they could've told me something was wrong and charged me an arm and a leg, but instead they sent me home and didn't even charge me to look at it! Another time, smoke started coming from my tire while I was driving on the highway. I pulled over and called Aamco to see what I should do and Mark talked me through it and took my car in right away to make repairs to a stuck caliper. My latest issue was a little mouse who liked to sleep between my hood and it's insulation and he chewed through the windshield wiper fluid line. Aaron squeezed me in to get it repaired right away. I can't say enough good things about this local business. Give them a call if you need any repair or service for your car.

This is probably the most friendly auto shop I have ever been to (and I have been to quite a few…read moredue to travel and moving often). As a stay at home mom of a 2, 3, and 4 year old I don't often get welcomed with a big smile when I walk into a waiting room with my three children. They welcomed my children to play with the toys and offered to put Sesame Street on the TV, immediately making me feel welcome with my young children. Unfortunately, we thought we would only be there for a couple hours for a transmission flush and turned out we had metal show up in the pan drip. At that point they were very forthcoming with my options and estimates of price points I would be looking at to number one take the tranny out to diagnose and number two to actually do the repairs. This was obviously a tough spot for me to be in with three young kids but they made the decision easy by offering to help get me and my children home which was not close by (I live an hour away)! As my children started to get antsy Ben offered for them to stand by his desk and watch him do his computer work and when they were helping me get my three car seats from my vehicle my curious toddlers wanted to walk in the garage and Ben very safely let them take a look to keep them occupied. They went above and beyond with costumer service and I really appreciate that! They were up front and forthcoming about work and pricing which is also not usually the case with most auto shops. We ended up getting a rental car as I would need a vehicle the following day to get my oldest to preschool and Mark helped me get a great price on a full size rental and arranged to have them pick me and the kids up to make it easy on me. They called us within the day to give us the diagnosis and we needed to replace the transmission. They gave us 3 different options; we originally choose the remanufactured unit but it was not in stock and would take too long to arrive. When we decided to do the rebuild instead, they helped us get a better warranty for our situation and got to work right away. Yes $4000 is quite the price tag but unfortunately cars and repairs and gas and insurance are just not cheap. After doing research with the warranty (which is the best that I found) the price was in the ballpark of any other repair shop! However, I know I was well taken car of and my car is driving like new! I recommend this AAMCO location and I will most definitely be back despite the long trip. Thank you to Mark, and Ben and the entire staff for taking care of us so well!

I live out of town, so, after a little online research, I reached out to Rockaway Service due to their 5-star reviews. When I inquired as to the cost of plugging a slow leak, I was told there was no charge as it was a service they perform for free. I was taken aback. No charge? Naturally, I had my mom drop the car off. Pat and Dan were very nice. A short time later Dan called me to discuss an issue with the sub-frame. My mom's vehicle is a Jeep Compass - subframe rotting out is a well-known and common issue. I was actually already aware of this on my mom's car and had been keeping an eye on it for the last year or so, knowing it would need to be replaced at some point. Dan texted me photos of the current condition with his recommendation that I not put it off any longer. The photos he took while the car was up on the lift showed the rotting had progressed much further than I could see from my vantage point with the vehicle on the ground. I grew up working on cars my entire life: My father was a huge do-it-yourselfer, so I know my way around an automobile. I know if I'm being spoken to honestly or not. I was trying to hold off because it could be a pricey repair, but Dan was correct - I could not put it off any longer. We made arrangements to bring the car back in a week. My mom dropped off her car to get the repair done and they actually drove her to work - unfortunately, the repair took a little longer than expected (as these things sometimes tend to do - it happens) so they picked her up at the end of the day and drove her home! Knowing my mom needed the car (she a senior widow, living alone), Dan stayed late the next night, finishing the repairs and then he personally delivered the car to my mom at her house! Who does that? Both Dan, Pat and even Denise (the woman that answered the phone) were all pleasant and professional. They went above and beyond what I would consider to be "normal" service. My mom is ecstatic about how much better the car drives and I'm very happy with the pricing. I think everyone can agree that it's very difficult to find a mechanic you can trust, and cold-calling one like I did here was a gamble. But it was a gamble that I'm glad to say paid off. I can't say enough good things about the way they treated both my mom and me. I know I tend to be overly wordy sometimes... but this time it's warranted. I just wish I lived closer to them, as, based on this experience, and the way they treated us as a first-time customer, would be very confident having them service my entire families' vehicles. I have no qualms or reservations about recommending them. Thanks, Guys! Brian Dowling
