On March 26, 2024 my perfect condition 2016 corvette got hit in a parking lot while it was legally parked in a designated parking spot by an 85 year old woman that is danger to society. While driving she hit my car in its parking spot , doing significant damage and moving it over a foot away. I called my Auto-Owners insurance and was assigned a claim adjuster by the name of Gina Marcantonio. She was very unhelpful from day one. When I gave Gina the license plate on the note to aid in finding the woman who hit my car, she said that the note on my car was not a serious thing and did not want to go through the effort of looking for the person who hit my car. It took me more than a month to find the identity of the person who had hit my car on my own, along with her address and insurance. All this work was Gina's responsibility as a claim adjuster. Later on she also started to give wrong information to the hit-and-run woman's insurance claim adjuster, saying I was fully paid and my car was fixed and the damage only amounted to $2500, before my car even went to the shop for repairs This caused the other person's insurance company to not make payments. Without my hard work, Auto-Owners would have not recuperated money for damages that I was partially paid for from the claim. I found the video of the hit and run and the person's license plate and obtained the police report and the body cam footage of the detective visiting the hit and run person's home and completed the investigation. All the damages, the primary and the secondary, was given to Gina and she called me and verified that she had the complete information on what was going on, all the damages were verified to have been caused by the accident per the shop that fixed my car in their invoices. I paid completely out of my pocket for the repairs ( The total was $7159.45 ). Gina kept saying that I would not be paid for the complete repair, even though the shop manager spoke to her many times, even calling her in front of me to set her straight. He told her that I was a customer and explained to Gina that I do not own their shop and all of the damages to my car were indeed from the recent accident and I paid them out of my pocket in full, and they would be a witness. The leadership team of Auto-Owner insurance company, it appears to clearly know how poorly their clients are being treated, since the manager of the claims department Chris Khavari, keeps saying nobody in the company cares and they can't tell him what to do about this injustice. Instead of thanking me for my years as a client and providing me with the services I pay for, I am being ripped off and punished by my own insurance company. So far I have contacted, Lynette at executive office, Garry at extension 55540, Amber Senken, Sydney at extension 55539, and Ali at extension 59265, and none of them helped me and keep lying and keep changing the story why they are not paying for my car damages. read more

I love my coverage for a park model unit here in Mesa. I have the best coverage possible, with lowest deductible, along w a $1,000,000 liability umbrella policy. If you want a company that will not pay your damage claim on your homeowners insurance, this is the company for you. The claims adjuster, Mr. David Studley has denied a claim for some relatively inexpensive garage cabinets that were ruined due to a water damage from a leak. My father has had insurance through this company for many years always paying his premiums faithfully without ever filing a claim. Now that there's a claim for $5800 to restore things back to pre water damage condition, they are denying the restoration contractor's bill and making everybody including my 95 year old father pay out of pocket. I rarely write terrible reviews but this one warrants it. Several months ago my property was damaged by something that happened at the neighbors. Neighbor files claim promptly. I get the adjuster out here who says he will sent over the estimate so I can do the repair that same day. We are now months later- over a dozen calls. Supervisor involved and nothing. I was super calm and patient and understanding when the adjuster admitted they dropped the ball but 8 days and multiple calls later no response. My next move is the contact the state board of insurance to complain. There are too many insurance companies out there to choose this one. Zero stars. read more

Got into a car accident with someone who uses them as an insurance provider and they were at fault for the accident. I have liability only on my car so they are responsible for fixing my car. Started off good but went south right away. Got a call from the agent 3 days after the accident, she gathered the information and said she would call me 4 days later with scheduling an adjuster. Got no response, I have called and left her over 12 messages and still has not gotten back. Called her supervisor and went to voicemail with no response. A horrible company would give negative stars if I could. That is no way to do business. read more

I filed a claim against my homeowner's policy for water damage on a Wednesday, then panicking, I called my adjuster Jon Garrett to explain I had a preplanned family vacation in two weeks, and could he please get me an adjuster now. Jon completely understood and had an adjuster at my condo the next week and my damage estimate the next day. Now that's service! Three days later, while on vacation with my family, Jon called, verified my email and then had Auto Owner's cut me a check for damages; directly into my bank account. It doesn't get any better than that. Jon settled my claim fast, and fair, no fuss no muss. I am a very satisfied customer. The whole process was smooth, easy and efficient. Don't return calls from customers or contractors. Over 7 weeks of calling and leaving voicemails. The voicemail say press 0 if you have an emergency and goes directly back into voicemail. So far office staff have not been able to help. I see I am not alone!! read more

I filed a claim against my homeowners policy for water damage (first time in 20+ years of being a homeowner) and I am absolutely amazed with how smooth the process went. My adjuster Jon Garrett was responsive, timely and professional. While at my house taking pictures of the water damage, he noticed my overflow drain from my AC unit was dripping and mentioned I might want to get it checked. He took the time to explain that the Top drain was the emergency overflow... and if it was dripping that meant there could be an issue....totally made sense...I just never knew. I called my AC guy out to the house and sure enough the drain was clogged and is now fixed. More importantly I now know that is something I need to periodically check in the heat of the summer especially. My claim was settled timely and fairly which is how insurance should work. This has been been the worst insurance company I've ever dealt with. One of their clients T-bone me I contacted them gotta sign and adjuster after I talk to her just as she told me submit information I called back she's on vacation for a week heard nothing from auto insurance. She comes back in the office since my email I called her since she's gonna be out of the office and meetings all day still just left in limbo. Later in the week I called and called and called no answer email no reply only to find out a week later she's no longer in the department transfer another department didn't hear anything about a new adjuster to my claim. I know some insurance rating companies give Auto Owners a good review. I can promise you they are TERRIBLE. I have Auto, Home and Umbrella policies with them etc. They NEVER listen to the customer. They made ME PAY my DEDUCTIBLE (1000.00) for an accident in which the accident report clearly says I was NOT at fault. I have plenty of other grievances with this company. My families house was worked on by one of their clients, who failed to finish the job properly resulting in thousands of dollars of water damage. The company admitted fault, and fired the employees who performed the poor work. The insurance company has avoided covering the bill or even making contact, sending my family to a voicemail for an employee who never seems to be there. Dozens of phones calls, messages from attorneys, and six months later they still haven't done anything. The home now has mold with young children in the house, I assume whose eventual health problems they also will deny any responsibility for. read more

My problem is not getting a claim paid, but just having insurance with them. Their initial quotes for car and home are better than most large insurers. That's the good news. The bad news is that they upped my rates, not after one year but one month and never disclosed any reason! Also I was told only AFTER they got my money that it is mandatory that a guy has to come into my house and photograph everything in sight! Why? No reason, just "policy." I do not feel comfortable having photos of the house on some database. If a hacker gets in, he not only knows my name, address, etc. but knows where everything of value is located in my house. He can tip off a thief or do the robbery himself. Totally bad "policy." You may pay more at State Farm or Allstate but they don't jerk you around like this. And they don't up your rates until you've been there two years. read more

A chronological summary of facts is listed here regarding our unresolved Auto Owners Ins Co claim 1/ We filed a claim for water damage on our rental vacation home relating to a severe storm in mid 2014. 2/ Auto Owners covered and paid for rain damages to walls and ceiling. 3/ Renters of the vacation rental home started complaining about the floor coming loose shortly thereafter -- when they occupied the home for their annual snowbird season stay. 4/ We responded to the issue -- with limited but marginally acceptable success -- by conducting Fix-a-Floor injection repairs to rescue the floor in order to preclude our having to inconvenience the renters to move out for floor replacement. 5/ The floor continued deteriorating each snowbird-rental season for two more seasons and we continued the "Fix-a-Floor" repairs with some level of success. Finally in mid 2017 as the floor situation continued to decline, we had the floor inspected by an expert tile person with a view to total tile replacement. 6/ Our tile restoration specialist stated that -- without any doubt -- this floor was gradually failing starting with the rainwater intrusion in the home in 2014. He suggested we "contact Your insurance". 7/ Auto Owners written procedure for client claims is that client must contact the Auto Owners sales agent first. The agent will in turn contact Auto Owners claims service. We carefully read this instruction and contacted the agent and explained our "need for supplemental coverage relating to the earlier 2014 rain damage claim". 8/ The Auto Owners agent, Randolph Insurance Agency, say they contacted Auto Owners with our described issue. Auto Owners responded by immediately assigning a new claim number for us to complete paperwork on. We followed through on this which resulted in our now having two claim numbers assigned to this claim. 9/ Auto Owners then examined the situation and notified us that we were correct, that this damage actually related to the storm in 2014 claim, and then reverted everything back to the 2014 claim number and proceeded accordingly from there. Noteworthy, this has now left us with two separate claims on the public Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange (CLUE) report which adversely affects us in now obtaining replacement new home insurance, and will affect ability for us to sell the house in the future. AO now refuses to correct this error. 10/ Auto Owners then engaged unilaterally with an engineer to examine and write a conclusion as to the floor damage. The examination lasted only minutes -- the resulting report was weak and insufficient. 11/ We then requested of Auto Owners produce an actual forensic engineering analysis of the tile damage claim -- knowing very well ourselves that a true "forensic" process would entail a fault tree analysis, commonly known as a FMAA (Failure Mode and Affects Analysis), as a means of ruling out the rain water as a causal factor in the floor debonding. Auto Owners knew they needed to comply with the terms of our policy, IOW to cover rain water damage or rule it out as casual factor in a legitimate engineering report. 10/ Auto Owners then engaged a forensic engineering company to examine and write the report to fit the Auto Owners needs for denial as this claim was by then dragging on owing to the claim number changes and many other delays. 11/ The forensic report failed to rule out rain water intrusion as a causal factor. Further, they did not inspect the actual debonded underside surfaces of any of the more than 12 fully debonded tiles available for this purpose at time of the their inspection. 12/ After seeing their report, we began to realize that Auto Owners Claims was determined to now reach a "rush-to-judgement" decision to deny the floor claim despite the many report deficiencies in not being the true to form forensic investigation that we had agreed on with Auto Owners. Worthy of note here, we had offered to participate in the cost of the forensic undertaking with Auto Owners to enable a truthful outcome, but Auto Owners rejected our offer and paid the cost fee unilaterally to obtain the non-forensic report on which they could deny. 13/ Auto Owners then denied the claim for the floor portion of our claim based on their purchased report. 14/ We are still rescuing the debonding floor with "fix-a Floor" injections until we can locate funds and other schedule resources to replace the floor. Some debonded tiles have now started to crack and exhibit sharp edges, so we will have to finally take the house out of service starting next week. 15/ We are still facing the fact of having two separate claim numbers on our CLUE (report which penalizes us in two areas. 1/ We cannot find an adequate replacement Home Owners insurance policy for the house because "2" claims means "high risk", (even GEICO has refused us) and 2/ the CLUE report will factor into our ability to sell the house in the future.
