Came to this body shop on recommendation. First time went decent. I was told the car would be done by X date but didn't receive a call until over a week past said date. I received no explanation or acknowledgement.
Tried them again for a very similar repair and I tacked on a few things that I wanted done since it was going in for paint that Chris (manager) agreed to. The work took longer than I was originally told again by over a week with no explanation. When I received the car, I noticed the door panel looked slightly misaligned and 1 one the items I had asked for wasn't done and pointed it out. Chris let me know we can have both taken care of and that the misalignment was most likely panel clips and that he would have them ordered. Fair enough. After I arrived home that day, I noticed several small issues that I wasn't happy with. Decided to wait until Chris reached out regarding the clips so I could knock out 2 birds with 1 stone. Over 2 weeks passed with no communication so showed up in person to make my case. I expressed everything I saw wrong and he looked it over, acknowledged the defects and told me we could take care of that. Awesome, what a weight off my shoulders. He told me he'd call me "probably by the end of the week." This was a Tues/Weds. Next Monday rolls around and nothing. I gave them another 2 Monday and I make the call. Laurie picks up. She's polite but I get no chance to express my grievances when I call. As soon as I mention who I am, she cuts me off to let me know that the clips haven't arrived yet (in stock at all my local dealers). I rebuttal and insist that I can purchase the clips and provide them if need be. My main goal is to have my paint defects corrected. While trying to get this out, I'm cut off and told to hold on. She speaks to Chris and tells me he'll call me back later since he's busy. The rest of the week goes by. They get back to me Monday (only after l left a voicemail prior) informing me the clips are in and that I could bring the car in next Monday. I bring the car by and call them to let them know I'm outside (parking is non-existent on the block). Laurie responds to me by asking me if I can bring it by next Monday. Are you kidding me? You set this date with me and only after I'm here and call you directly does this occure to you? Is there any bookkeeping as far as dates? I let her know why that is since she had told me to bring it back on that day. I drop off the car at their second shop down the block and my escort from the main shop asks me again, where the issues were and so I did. I then speak to the body shop manager at this shop and I point out the faults and mention that Chris also has some clips for the door panel. Was told that it'd be done Friday this week (this is Wednesday). Great.
Monday rolls around, no word. I called Tuesday and Laurie lets me know that I can get the car that day around 4:30 pm (universal response as I'll explain). I show up and Chris is by the door and doesn't so.much as explain a thing to me. Not sorry for the late pick-up for the 3rd time or anything other than a wave. Instead he points at an employee who walks me over to the car at the second shop where the car is looking disgusting from the windstorm we just had. How can it be if the car was being worked on and was just ready now? At the second shop, I was informed the car was done yesterday. So, what's the culprit? Poor shop-to-shop communications, awful customer follow-ups or simply shoddy organization? Who knows for sure.
Just one chapter left now. There's still issues with the paint and worst is the mess left from the storm made it difficult to tell of the mistakes were corrected. I've been taking cabs to come get my incomplete car and I don't live nearby so this was a pain and a half. I was told to come back the next day and it'll be done. This was actually accurate! Good turnaround, the car is washed, the mistakes corrected and at this point, I just want my car back.
The car never had the clips replaced, the door panel is still in the same state of misalignment. Turns out one of the defects was still there and one of those extra things I requested Chris to take care of were never tended to. I'm sick of coming back here to repeat myself only to have things missed so I'm calling it quits.
TLDR: Poor service, attrocious communication, attention to detail lacking, paint work is good, not worth the rigmarole you're put through for it.
