We were told nothing could be found AND PUT US BACK ON THE ROAD WITH A BROKEN AXLE. I've been in the car world for many years and I am not a dummy. The repair professionals at a reputable repair shop were disgusted that this incredibly damaged vehicle was given a gold star for safety by Newberg Tire and the brake job 2.0 (this time with correct parts!) plus many hours and other replacement parts later cost $2300+. Clearly oblivious (uncaring?) to the risk of driving 5 children in a car with a broken axle up a large hill to work in Portland and many hundreds of highway miles per week, Steve nickeled and dimed us over "the wear and tear on the (incorrect) brake pads" in negotiating a reasonable offer for the glaring lawsuit risk that is their shoddy work. He didn't return phone calls and deflected like a pro when asked how this oversight was both allowed and defended in his business. I'm not typically an angry review writer, but my family of mechanics would NEVER conduct their business this way.

If you are paying for college, skip this place.

They are always honest about what I'm expected to pay for the service and never go the cheap route when it comes to replacing anything on my car or servicing it. I don't even live in Canby anymore and still bring my car to them because I know the job will always be done right and sometimes they will get it done sooner than expected. Also it's always nice walking into the shop and they remember you by name especially a place where most people feel overwhelmed taking their car in to get serviced for the first time... needless to say you should feel very confident getting work done here!

It sounded like something had gotten caught underneath my engine and was dragging along the concrete. I pulled over to investigate, and from what I could see in the dark and rain, it looked like the lower engine cover (skid plate) had come loose while I was driving and had been dragging. This cover was DESTROYED. At this point, I'm thinking "well, it's 5AM, and I'm halfway to work. I can drive home and destroy this thing more, or drive to work and destroy this thing more". I went to work. After making some calls, I finally got in touch with Tyler's Automotive. I explained the situation, and they said they could help me out. I drove over on my lunch break (scraping all the way), and they were able to take the skid plate off. It was in PIECES. They said they could order the part, and that they'd call me with a quote later on. I got the quote, and we made an appointment for a couple days later. I had made an appointment for 11AM, and arrived 5 minutes beforehand (again on my lunch break). They took my keys, and someone went out and started my car. It sat there idling for about 15 minutes before anyone got in it and drove it into the garage. All told, it took 45 minutes and $240, but the skid plate was replaced. I was thankful they could take care of everything, and grateful to have my vehicle back in action. I gave 4 stars due to not being taken care of at the scheduled appointment time. Since I only get 30 minutes for my lunch break, I needed this to be taken care of quickly, and I had been told they could do it in less than 30 minutes. That being said, I'd still recommend this shop. They were friendly and helpful, and they did the job quickly once they started.

I had some elective work done this time: a PPE transmission pan and full servicing, plus a Baxter oil filter adapter. Unfortunately, PPE doesn't keep the Mojave's altered geometry and frame thickness in mind for their fitment chart because it flat-out doesn't fit. They could have just slapped it on like I asked because it **kind of** fits, but it either requires further machining or altering of the crossover pipe. Beyond that, it now lowers the pan slightly under the frame, which it doesn't do on the standard frame 3.6 pan. However, the flush was great; my truck shifts better than ever and legit feels brand new now. For the Baxter adapter, there's a little casting nodule left over from the factory's casting of the pug manifold; hacking it off is required for some, but not all. They asked me first and did a fantastic job. My oil was fresh--I run Mobil 1 Extended Performance and had less than 3,000 miles on it--so it wasn't about the oil change. It's about swapping the Pentastar's oil filter housing unit from an inferior cartridge-style filter with a twist-on cap (that has very demanding torque specs) to a metal twist-on filter. These are inarguably better, not only for your vehicle but for the environment, as the metal can be scrapped and the inside has less plastic. The difference in early start-up tick due to the dry start is night and day. I'm not in "tick failure," so it was such a quiet start-up that it was kind of shocking. Anyone who says the Baxter is snake oil probably ate Tide Pods, because it was the smoothest, most quiet start-up I've had since owning my truck. They installed it very quickly and charged me incredibly fairly. I can't say enough good things about Brake Force LLC!
