The salesman asked what state i was in office told him he said yeah there's another 2000 dollar added to the price to total 2195. I left a review and some other guy said he listened to the tape? What tape was i recorded without permission?? I misunderstood he said that was for a warranty. Warranties aren't tacked on forcibly and no thats not what he said. He said the vehicle is 2000 dollars more. I assumed because they just didn't want to deal with online sales and shipping. On May 15, we were looking to purchase a car for our teenage kid. John the salesman showed us a car that we test drove which we liked and asked if we could take it home the same day. They said yes, they could get it ready for the same day. John told us the car was $12,000, which we agreed. As we were getting further along in the process, they said being that it was Sunday, the car would be ready the next day instead, which is understandable. However, we don't live close to the dealer so John offered to drop it off the next day, which we agreed. They were helpful in trying to get us the best rates, which they did too. The next day, Paul, the owner, called me to go over the interest rates and monthly payments. When I asked what was the total amount financed, he said "it is too difficult to explain by phone, why don't you to stop by so we can go over the numbers". I reminded him I don't live close and could not stop by. All I wanted was the total amount financed, then he said it was about $13,000. I asked how could this be possible if the car was $12,000, and I had put a $2,000 down payment. He cleverly asked if I don't pay state taxes and DMV fee and added that the car was not $12,000; and that John might've just round it. Paul later said the car was $12,900 in addition to a fee that the "bank" was charging, and that they had inspected the car and put new brakes. At this point, I was not happy but we still agreed to that price. He kept mentioning that they were able to get a monthly payment within my budget. I told him that was fine but the Total Amount Finance is what mattered and I needed to know. He started getting aggravated and kept asking if I wanted the car or not. I told him I would purchase the car but I was just asking questions that he was trying to avoid. When the car was ready to being delivered, I asked if they had the paperwork showing the brakes were done, John said he had no paperwork "Do you think I'm lying to you, we got you a low monthly payment, do you want the car or not, if not, I appreciate your business". I told him I just asked a simple question, which they seem not being able to answer. Instead Paul and John, just get defensive, repeating that we got low payment and kept asking if I wanted the car or not. Finally, they delivered the car, and days later I had the car checked by an Audi Certified agent, who stated the car needs an axle soon and it's not safe to drive. At this point, I only had the car for five days and have not driven it more than 20 miles. I texted the salesman to express my disappointment with the car they sold me which is unsafe to drive. He called me right away, asking me if I was being serious, when I replied that I was; John said have a nice day and hung up. Few minutes later, John replied with a long text stating that I should be ashamed of myself as I should be thanking them for jumping through hoops and that he was sorry he sold us the car, and that one day I will be back to say thank you. I have two words to describe Auto Connection Dealership: Very unprofessional. They should have apologized and offered a resolution. Beware, they will make it look like they jump through hoops prior to purchasing your vehicle, but once you are ready to go over the financing details, they try to avoid all your questions and after you make the purchase, you are on your own, they will not help you. We took the car back to Auto Connection, and when Paul determined it would take some time to have the car repaired, he offered us the option of either waiting for the repair to be completed or choosing a replacement car. Mike Little sold me a great car at a reduced price and gave me $1500 more for my trade than the last dealer offered. The real surprise was the Finance and Insurance backroom: the proverbial lion's den where the transaction falls apart. Not here. My price was what Mike told me and my trade was just as he quoted. Sale price, tax, tags/registration. That was it. They offered me a better rate than my bank - but I was still dubious and ran the numbers on my amortization app. They saved me 2 points. I never write online reviews for anyone but I think its important to identify honest, dedicated businesses that go far beyond the industry baseline. Honestly my worst experience...last month I purchased a 2007 Ford Escape and the day I drove the truck off the lot I had noticed that the front windshield had a leak on the inside coming in the truck. I called and spoke with my sales person Franklin he had told me to bring the truck in and they would take a look at it so I did they had told me it just needed to be resealed so they would have a glass company come and do it. Unfortunately I was not able to make it due to I got COVID and was down for 3 weeks. After finally feeling better I had called to get the window taken care of I also informed them that Inwas going to bring the truck to my mechanic just to make sure nothing serious was wrong which I did and Inwas informed my truck needed new front ball joints tie rods stabilizer links as well as front tires so I called and spoke with Paul the finance manager and informed him what my mechanic told me. Ok. This based on my personal experience with Paul and auto Connection. Like every salesman out there before you buy they are your best friends and will do everything to have you sign. I recently purchased a vehicle from this place. From the beginning the dashboard lights weren't working The next day after I drove out of their lot the check engine light came on. I got in contact and they said they were going to fix everything. They required me to leave my car obviously but they have no loaner for you so good luck. After leaving the car several times still couldn't fix the problem and then tried to blame it on me. At this time I when to the Toyota dealer who found the problem. It will cost about $1600 to fix the electrical and check engine light. In less than a month now Paul claims I have no warranty from them even though their website clearly states 12 months coverage. But I heard such great things about Auto connections from a friend, who eventually figured out these guys are crooks!.. I looked at three cars and this particular car... I was told was the only car that I could get approval ...on.... lies!.. From the day I brought the car home I had probelms with it... I continued to go back and forth..to their service center so they could figure out what was going on with the car... it's fine everything is ok...I was told it was a sensor ....and I knew that something was wrong... ....and I continued to express this.. ..they would only give me a 30 day warranty...as well..so for a full year I've had continuous probelms with this car! the worst used car dealer around i purchased a Honda Pilot and after feeling out the credit application they said that I needed a cosigner. they kept given me the run around for 2 weeks. even thought I was approved!!!!!! when I received a Bill Statement that wells fargo had payed them $26,812 I when to see paul the owner. and he tried to denied it!! Jerry had said that my wife did not qualified for the loan. i contacted wells fargo and after talking to them they gave me the Honda Pilot. even thought they tried giving me they tried the bait and switch game giving me a much cheaper worthless car a toyota not only did they not give me a good working car. But, the vehicle had 2 bad front tires which they said that they were going to replaced, But, the car has a very bad sound in the front which they never fixed, dirty back seat which they said that they would take care of. Both of the people Jerry, and Nick the shop manager are no longer working there, Paul refuses to take care of the problem, and even have sent me to a collection company to try to get an additional $700 which i don't owe. he's trying to ruin my credit, and my daughter. Blown water pump, blown ENGINE, Bad catalytic converter, driver air bag useless, broken dip stick,leaky bad battery ,no jack or spare tire, car has to be a flood car, inside rusty and very dirty. Plus more I cannot think of right now. They made me wait until night time so I would not see all the trouble with it plus. ABS light, engine light on.The drivers side air bag has its plate SCREWED ON making it useless. There are supposed to be catches that easily release if an accident and this plate is screwed on with screws ! Plus I also found out when I had a oil change that the tie rods were bad. They sold me a DANGEROUS car that could get myself and loved ones KILLED because of their GREED ! I lost my truck during Sandy and waited about 5 months before buying a car because I was worried I would get a flood car and this place stuck me anyway. Charged me double for a warranty that they use their own shop/friend to boot. When going back to have problems fixed they NEVER fixed all the repairs and kept telling me next time, next time, next time. They promised to fix all but then never fixed the repairs.The two criminals are the owner "PAUL" and head man / manager "HENRY". I asked for the repair invoice over 10 times and they refused to give them to me. I finally called up the warranty company and received the repair invoice and found out why they refused to give me the invoice and that is because they "Auto connection" charged the warranty company 2800 but the repairs were ONLY 1400-1800.00. I looked at the invoice and saw my signature was FORGED on the paper ! Forgery is a CRIMINAL ACT !! They signed my name on the warranty papers so I would not see they received more money ! This is FRAUD !They had the car about 12 times and I lost use of the car for approximate 4 months plus over 1000.00 in rentals cars and taxis out of my pocket for all that time. Also the monthly payments and insurence payments for a car not being able to drive. Henry told me at the end that the car had too many problems and to come in for he would give me another car. When I went in to get it 4-5 times he said come back in a couple of weeks for this or that excuse. Then finally he tells me I would have to give him 1500.00 more ! I said why would I buy another car when the first one is a lemon and you promised an exchange(phone call recorded). Then I talked to Paul who gave me the same song and dance for another month or so and told me he would exchange but then demanded 500.00 more plus a higher loan amount for the different car. They do not return phone or tell you to come in and are not there about 80% of the time. They lie and lie and lie. They dragged it on for months on purpose to have my warranty expire and then told me I am now stuck for the repairs. I have a car that barely runs with no inspection sticker thats filthy and worthless that I paid over 8000.00 for plus all extra expenses. I am paying off a car but must rent a car every time I go out east once a month because I am worried it will break down. My last phone call Henry said he does not work for them anymore but Paul says he does. I believe Henry said he is at South Shore. They cannot even get their lies right. They can post whatever answer they want to this post but it will be more lies. I have the forged papers and recorded all my conversations with them and have PROOF of ALL of this. There is much more to this than I could possibly right up with all the games they played and lies. Basically they will treat you nice for 30 days and tell it will all be fixed so you do not cancel the transaction. After that they will play games and joke about it to each other on what they got away with. Forging my name on the papers is a criminal act and one that they cannot make an excuse for or lie about. If you had any dealings with any company demand all papers and if they refuse call up the warranty company and they will provide them to you. I was just informed I should contact the "DMV" and report a complaint and also the Police if you find your signature was forged like mine. I was informed I have up to three to six years to file the report with the police and that the Statute of Limitations for fraud is 3 to 6 years depending on the Severity (amount). The time limit for the prosecution to bring its case does not begin until the crime is discovered, or should have been discovered. read more
