You need to know your cars. The prices are low for a reason. Take a mechanic and/or a scan tool with you. Look at the underbody for rusted frame. Check to see if the oil is cloudy. There are a lot of checks you can do on the lot before driving. Check Edmunds reviews to check reliability of the the year and model of that specific car, some years are ok, others have badv engines. I have purchased several cars from Austin's, most good, a few duds, but with the duds, i bought emotionally, without using the previous suggesions. Do your homework! There are many repeat customers at Austin's, and most are not posting on yelp.

Matt and I were texting and he was telling me that it no longer needs an inspection because it's been serviced already. I told him I still planned on getting it inspected, after I mentioned that? Mentioned How he has another potential buyer in Chicago who's ready to sign today. Why not just go with them instead of use it as a bs tactic with me? In the picture I'll post below. He was at our spot with a tow truck in about 30 mins and called us an hour or so later to inform me of what was wrong. He laid out the options. Was very transparent and gave us a rough timeline. While he had the car he sent updates on when he ordered parts, when they arrived at the shop and how far along he was with the work. This was critical for me as I had to drive back to Chicago in a rental and needed to coordinate when I'd make the drive back to Cincy to pick up my car. The car is like new. I felt a little nervous driving it back right after getting the work done but it performed great on the road and I made it back to Chicago with no issues. I wish he was based in Chicago so I could take the car to him with any future issues. Hopefully we never get stranded in Cincy again, but if we do I find some peace in knowing we have someone great to take it to.
