I recently took my 2015 Jetta to Auto Beauty Center in Independence (off North Jackson) to have it detailed before putting it up for sale, and I couldn't be happier with the results. When I picked up the car I was honestly blown away. They brought it back to what felt like factory condition. The paint was shining, the wheels looked brand new, and the interior was spotless. Even areas I hadn't noticed were looking better than I remembered when I first bought the car. The price was definitely lower than what I expected for this and I am now considering getting my daily driver detailed. It's rare these days to find a business that takes such obvious pride in their work and delivers above expectations. I took another car here to see if anything had changed after 3 years. I was sad to find that nothing had, it was still the same mess it was the first time. To give you an idea, here is what happened.... Summary- poor communication, took almost 8 hours, not a very good job (could have done the same or better myself). Caused damage, charged 3 times what they quoted. *edit- I was eventually contacted by them and offered a refund by check, even though I paid by credit card, after I posted my initial review on google. Three weeks and 5 phone calls from me later, I had to go back to the shop and physically pick it up but I got it.* Long version: I spoke to Brett (owner) on Tuesday or Wednesday to see when they could get my car in. I really just wanted some minor clean-up prior to leaving town: the all-weather mats cleaned, carpets vacuumed, windows cleaned and outside washed. I didn't need a full inside detailing and didn't want any kind of waxing or protectant on the outside or windows b/c the car has ceramic coating. I explained all of this, and he said they could do it Thursday while I was at work (I couldn't get it there because I have to be at work before 7am) or Friday morning at 9am. Friday was my day to sleep in, but I said I would go ahead and get up early to bring it in. I asked how long it would take and he said about 2 hours. I asked if they had a place I could stay and get some work done while they had the car and he said they would set me up in the conference room. Brett could not have been any nicer and I had really high hopes for the place. Friday I arrived at 9am and went through the car with Brett again, then went inside to wait on it. I left for about 2.5 hours with my mom and came back. The car was not finished until 408, and then only with me telling them I was taking it and leaving at 330 because I was supposed to be leaving town at 6. I asked several times for an update while waiting but the people inside the office couldn't be bothered. I had to go find my car and ask what was taking so long myself (again office staff couldn't be bothered) at 330. Come to find out, not only did they not start until almost 2pm (they took TWO cars in before me) but they did a FULL DETAIL on the inside! He even put some kind of conditioner on my mats when I specifically asked them not to! Now my mats are all squeaky and annoying! If they are ruined I will be asking for them to be replaced, I have a call in to the manufacturer. They wanted another 10 minutes on the windows and 30 to wash. I said just do the windows and give me my car back. I'm leaving. I will run it through the no-touch wash on the way home and it i will take 5 minutes and $6. On my way out some other guy (can't remember his name, he gave me his card later) tracked me down and said he guaranteed it would be done by 408 (it was 338) if I would let them finish. I agreed against my better judgement. At 408 I met them in the parking lot. They charged me $200 instead of the $75-$100 I was quoted. I threw a fit and they brought it down to $150. When I checked my car over I was even more furious than I was before, which I didn't think was possible. There were places that had not been dried off, leaving water spots (could have done that at the car wash) and the windows were all streaky (could have done that myself). The console & cup holders looked like they hadn't been touched and was dusty- I wiped that off myself (so much for "we did a full detail" as the time excuse). I mentioned the mats- they were clean but now obnoxiously squeaky. The front window had speckles all over it from whatever they used. The inside of the doors had not been washed and there was still soap on the car. I brought all of this up, the guy had the kid come back and go over the doors and clean up the soap. They ended up taking it back down to $100. I left, unhappy, and intent on never returning. After paying I also noticed a scratch on my dashboard, the owner was "no longer there". I called on Monday and never did get them to do anything about it because there was "no proof" they did it. Really? How should I have known to take pictures of every inch of my car before having a professional detail it? The front window speckles all later proved to be impossible to see through when driving into the sun- seriously dangerous b/c it caused such a glare so I had to pull off the road and RE-CLEAN the front window so I could see. Basically, I spent 8 hours there for them to halfway do what I asked (half of which I had to redo myself later), scratch my dashboard, and have them do a crappy job on the extra stuff they did which I had told them not to do. read more

Do not take your vehicle here. I dropped my truck off in 2020 and got it back last week (April 2024). It was completed in November of 2023 but the bill was 9k more than quoted so it took 5 months to hash out the payment. Now that the truck is back, both batteries were dead. The hose for the windshield wiper reservoir was cut so I have to fix that and some how while he had it my $700 head unit was stolen out of the truck and replaced with a cheap POS unit and wasn't even wired in so I have no usable radio. The owner Brett will no longer get back to me about anything either, so do yourselves a favor and stay away. read more

I will never take my truck back to AUTO BEAUTY CENTER they had my truck for 2 month's .... They fixed the problem but they made another issue start with my truck .... They will not give me my money back so I can go take my truck so i can get the issue fixed somewhere else I do not know why they think Is that I would ever take my truck back to their auto shop .... read more

This place is awesome! I brought my car in to just get an estimate on some repairs and I couldn't turn down the price. The turn around was unbelievable. When I went to go pick it up I saw that they do detailing and I asked them to do a quick wash and wax and clean my interior and I was impressed. We had a great experience having my husbands extremely dirty work truck detailed so we could sell it. This is a family owned business and they believe in integrity and producing a quality result. They listened when we told them what we were willing to do as far as a small dent. We didn't want to pay to have it completely repaired but they cleaned it up and it was a great improvement.They were very accommodating on working with us on our time frame and when we could pick up the truck. This place deserves a minus -10 I took my car there today 8-12-22 to have scratches out buffed from Kevin's car wash in NKC Mo. Steve said just buff them out which I told him very politely they could be buffed he knew better. So my appointment was 8am. I was told when I made the appointment they would a rental I arrived at 7:45 am. The first person I see is the owner Brett I was told no rental car. It was going to take 4 hrs. He said I could take some junk van he had I said no basically I was not insured to drive it. So my son had take time off his morning to pick me up. So at 12 noon car was supposed to be done no phone call I waited until 1pm and called they said it was pretty much done. Brett was to inspect the vehicle then call me 40 min. later I had to call again Brett answered told he was with a customer and could not talk. I told him I needed a ride out there to pick my car. My son works the 3-11pm shift. He was not available Brett said when his driver got back he would call and send to my location to pick me up. At 3:30pm I called again Brett answered I told him I need to pick up my wife at 4:30 pm. from work downtown. It's takes 20 min. to drive each way on 435 and I-70 now this 3:30 on friday not happening. So I am told the driver is on the way. This is where I get for a better word totally Pissed off. The driver is supposed to call when they are close so I come out and meet them. I am sitting on my front porch when I see my car driving down our street looking for our address. He sent a young girl not sure if it was his driver or not doesn't matter. When got out my car I immediately told her I am not upset with you I ask her who gave her permission to drive my personal vehicle. She said they told me to at work. I checked the scratches and like I said can't be buffed needs a paint job they detailed the car didn't vacuum and whatever they did to the front seats now there black stains showing up everywhere. Now back to driving the car she was not on our insurance if she wrecked or got hit I am stuck with the bill. If she were to get hurt lawsuits hospital Bill's etc. Then they expected me to take her back. I had pick my wife in 15 min. So I told I could her back but it would be well after 5 they close at 5. So they called her an uber I took her to a price chopper so it would be easier to find than a house #. I need to get on highway to pick up my wife I noticed my hood was not latched what would have happened if it had popped open her god knows. No reason at all to open the hood. They never called e-mailed anything about using my car. Now this is the owner oking all this what a tool to be nice. Monday morning should be interesting. This needs to be resolved by them. Brett is totally worthless as an owner and does not about anything. I felt sorry for the young. DO NOT USE THEM THESE GOOD REVIEWS YOU SEE MUST BE FRIENDS. read more

Auto Beauty Center is a great shop to work with. They give honest estimates without trying to overcharge like dealerships. The customer service and turn around time are great. If needed they will set you up with a rental car for you.
