She could easily overwhelm someone who is uncomfortable with strongly opinionated women, but she is an incredible listener and is not afraid to keep a patient's diagnosis a fluid one. She also gave me referrals for a psychiatrist and a marriage counselor-- when the first marriage counselor didn't work out well, she gave me another referral that did. She was recommended to me by a friend, and I've recommended her to my own friends and family. She is a Christian and that does influence her world view and style of therapy, but she does not only treat other Christians and is adept and skilled enough to keep religion out of sessions when necessary. Personally, being a Christian, she is the first real Christian Psychologist I've ever seen, and the experience has been life-changing. So many times I've been forced to keep my religious views out of my therapy sessions, but I just can't divorce my mind and my spirit like that. Other Christians who have just been "counselors" or "therapists" were not skilled enough to deal with the depth of my problems and ended up doing more harm than good. Jade Adair, my step sister's therapist, told the front desk to not let me schedule with my therapist at a time when my stepsister had an appointment. Despite my efforts to repair my relationship with my step sister, They treated me like I was some sort of villain and made it difficult for me to schedule therapy when I needed it. They should have scheduled her around me if she wanted to be there at a different time then me if that's what she wanted instead of discriminating against me by not allowing me to schedule with my therapist at what was her available and my available times when they let anyone else schedule when they want. If someone doesn't want to schedule at the same time as someone they don't like, make them change their schedule not the person who is willing to work through things in therapy because they always feel like they're disliked.

The short list includes; Lifespring, beginning and advanced, Transformational Workshops, Tai Chi, meditation, hypnosis, medications, enough self help books to line the entire United States, women's groups, Al-Anon, Co-dependants Anonymous, Adult children of Alcoholics, Chronic PTSD therapy, Brain wave therapy and more. So when I found Anita's ad through an internet search, I was doubtful, but willing to try. My goal was to move forward in my life with dreams that had lived in my heart for decades but just could not work on them because the beliefs about myself were so deep, they felt as if they were in my DNA. I was elated and stunned when after the first session I was able to start my work to reach my goals. Previously, I literally felt sick to my stomach when I thought about doing the work. After three sessions, I have a regular schedule working on my goals and enjoy the work!
