He came out to my home immediately. I wasn't sure where all…read morethe water in my garage was coming from. I thought that my water heater had let go. But Martin got in there and sopped up ALL the water and was able to determine that it wasn't the heater but my HVAC. He was an extremely kind and patient gentleman. He made a call and procured the proper service gentleman for me. He stayed with the HVAC guy until the problem was resolved. In addition I realized that I would be actually needing a NEW water heater in a very short time. So I made arrangements with Mr. McManus to have that done. I can't adequately express how impressed I was with both the quality of service and the timeliness of his response. I would bestow my most unabashed praise on Mr. McManus and both his professionalism and attention to both my needs and requirements and what was needed to get the job done. 5 STARS

Martin was recommended to me by Yelp's request a quote function. He was one of the few plumbers on the recommended who was willing to give me an estimate without having to send someone over first. The price was fair and Martin was responsive in scheduling a time the same day I contacted him. The plumber on Martin's team that I worked with was knowledgable, professional, and worked quickly to replace the fill valve within 30 minutes. We weren't 100% sure if that would fix the problem since this appeared to be a slow leak so they were willing to hold off invoicing me and ordering additional parts just in case the fill valve wasn't the issue. Luckily replacing the fill valve did the trick but I appreciated the gesture anyways. Still waiting to figure out how their payment works since I received an online invoice with an option to pay online. Anyways they did a great job and I would recommend them for toilet repair.

We've had Chris come out to our 1950's era house a few times to help us with our heating here…read morebefore the cold season sets in. The work we had him do involved re-fitting some radiator pipes for a new radiator, installing a Slantfin 30 radiator, removing a cast iron radiator, and capping off some un-used branches from our HW heating system. Chris came, gave us an estimate of the level of effort and worked with us as had some project hiccups and scheduling issues we encountered. I appreciate that the whole time Chris was very honest about how much time parts of the job would take, what his rate was and how he passed on materials costs. I always take it as a good sign when a contractor is very honest and communicative - two things Chris excels at. He showed up on time, ready to work and worked steadily. After he was finished with the radiator install, he fired up the boiler and helped us bleed the air out of the system, taking his time to ensure the boiler filled properly, fired up, and started to heat our home. He also wanted to test the radiator he had installed for us to ensure that most of all, his work was done correctly. I appreciated his attention to detail and willingness to stick around and ensure the job was done correctly. Overall, we found Chris to be an awesome guy, and a reliable and knowledgable plumber. We will be going to him for all of our plumbing needs for years to come.

I contacted them again to get an estimate on a small plumbing project. They charged $99, to be credited to the project if I hired them. Again, easy to schedule online and communicate with Leila via text. The plumber came on November 12, viewed the site, discussed my project, took photos and videos, and stated I would get an estimate in about a week. I texted Leila on December 8 and December 17 to ask where my estimate was. Both times I received an apology and was told the technician would be sent a reminder. On December 23 I asked for a refund. Leila agreed to this. It is now January 22, and I have not received a refund nor an estimate, for a project I hoped to have done by now. I am now looking for other plumbers.

I was able to ask them to give me an online quote (after sending details about my boiler system) and they said its going to cost $480 something (excluding part replacement)!! I mean seriously, this is ridiculous for just routine maintenance and cleanup / tuneup. I am glad I didnt pay their technician / plumber $79 come out to my place and be on the hook for this ridiculous quote. Needless to say, service wasnt scheduled.

I looked at the reviews for G&C Plumbing and Heating and their pricing is the issue in all of the…read morereviews. I don't think their prices are unreasonable at all. Their service and professionalism are second to none. I met Bob, Brian, and I spoke with Faye in customer service. They all had my best interests in mind and never charged me for a thing without telling me the cost first. And I never felt pressured, no hard sell. Every time I called their office I felt as if I was their only customer. The work, effort, care, timeliness, honesty, and all around customer service makes C&G one of premier plumbing contactors in N.E. I thought I was saving money by hiring others, but when their work failed I paid for the same job twice.

G&C Plumbing's pricing is significantly higher than expected for the work performed. I scheduled an…read moreappointment to replace a kitchen faucet and three shut-off valves; however, I was informed that an estimate could not be provided without an on-site visit. A $99 service call fee was disclosed in advance. Despite being a relatively simple job, the total cost exceeded $1,900. After researching the cost of the faucet from their local supplier, I discovered that the faucet retailed for $280, yet I was charged $1,142 for the faucet and installation. Replacing three shut-off valves was billed at $673. In total, an estimated $450 in parts resulted in $1,350 in labor for what was less than a 3-hour job. I reached out to management to better understand the significant upcharge and was told the pricing reflects a two-year company warranty. That explanation raised more questions, given the faucet manufacturer already provides a lifetime warranty on parts and finishes for residential users, covering defects in material and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns their home. I was also told the shut-off valves were not expected to fail within their two-year warranty. The remaining justification was that G&C hires experienced plumbers who provide a professional and courteous customer experience. Is this not what a consumer should expect?! Then I was informed that G&C provides a complete benefit package for their employees and that plumbers are just expensive. Overall, while the work was completed, the pricing felt significantly out of line with actual cost of parts, scope, and duration of the job.
