My previous shop closed a few years back so I've been going to Mike and Keith for 3-4 years now. Its about 45 minutes from my house in Round Rock but its so worth the drive taking it out there. Have a 2006 Seadoo that needed service, went to another Seadoo shop in Georgetown and they recommended Austin Jet Skier because they don't do older models beyond 7 years. I paid to have engine work done by Joe, the owner, and on my first test ride my jet ski the same problem occurred. I took it back to him and he basically tried to blame me for riding it too hard. He wouldn't fix it properly, or return my money. Be careful who you trust and pay to fix your ski. read more

I saw a sales advertisement this week regarding some jet skis being sold by Austin Jet Skier. I called Joe (the owner) and we spoke about the jet skis, but he noticed since I live in Dallas (over 3 hours away), that it might not make sense for me to drive all the way to Austin to look at the skis. He did mention though that if I found some jet skis here in Dallas, to contact him and he would be more than happy to discuss the jet skis I found and give me his advice on if it is a good deal and what to look for if I did go see them. I took him up on his offer a couple of times and was really impressed with his knowledge and willingness to help even though it was not going to result in a sales for him. His honesty and helpfulness was extremely appreciated. We have not found jet skis yet, and may end up driving down to Austin in the future just to see what he has for sale. Making a 3 hour trip to bring jet skis back home may be worth the time and effort on our part if I have a good feeling about who I am purchasing the skis from and not having to worry about buying something that I might be unhappy with. I called these guys to work on our 96 sea doo and they told me bring them in. When we drop them off Joe was rude and said we don't work on these they are old after they told me they would. I get a call saying they are shot and to come pick them up a week later and they charged me 45.00 to get them when they are the ones that refused to work on them. If you are in need of more than an oil change don't bother cause they don't want to really work. read more

Mandy...... what they were trying to explain to you was that your jet skis were worth much less than it was to work on them. I'm not sure what your idea of an honest opinion is but just because you disagree with these highly respected professionals doesn't mean they're wrong. Your jet skis are a money pit and there's not a thing wrong with them asking you to pay for their time to provide you with that valuable knowledge. You should thank them!!! I was looking for a used Jet Ski and came across an ad on craigslist for Austin Jet skier. I went out there and Joe had 2 for me to test drive. He took me out to the lake and went over and above showing me how they worked and explained everything I needed to know about them. They were awesome skis that he had purchased from a customer to resell. He belonged to the marina that I was going to use so after the test drive, he helped me secure a slip. I went back a few days later because the marina did not have my slip ready at the time I purchased the ski and he put the ski in the water for me, gave me another run down on how my ski worked and answered the million question I had. He also showed me how to get it in and out of my marina slip. Joe really went over and above any experience or expectation I have had with buying items on Craigslist. During all of this I found out that Joe has been my mother in laws jet ski mechanic for years. She had so many great things to say about him over the years and after dealing with him myself, I understand why!!! He seems to have a strong word of mouth business with loyal customers. I have headed up a large PWC club since the late 80's started within Motorola here in Austin. While I had already been jet skiing since the mid 80's, In 1990 just after moving to Oak Hill, I found AJS, a little Jet Ski shop in Oak Hill and started my 27 year relationship with a guy who is probably the only guy that loves this sport more than I do, Joe Gregorek, owner of Austin Jet Skier. Whether it was modifying, performing maintenance, rebuilding something someone damaged, or locating a ski for someone in the group, Joe has shared his knowledge, his patience, and his hospitality with our group and especially me personally for so many years. He has built or worked on well over 40 skis for me and I would bet several hundred for my friends. He has been instrumental in keeping the annual standup ride at Lake Travis, and supporting the ASPCA through his efforts. Joe always tries to help his customers do the most with the least amount of money and is always concerned most with being honest with them, sometimes to a fault even when it costs him their business if he thinks they are making a mistake. In recent years, Joe added Keith to his team and it was a great match. Keith is a great mechanic and troubleshooter and has provided awesome support to our group year round.
