Both children are appropriately challenged in their classes, learning a ton and having fun doing so. Material is never dry and boring but interesting and presented in a variety of ways. This is a great school for gifted kids and the administration and teachers are incredibly supportive and truly know and appreciate each child as a unique individual who each has different skills and different needs. The social and emotional support is thoughtfully delivered and thorough. My kids love their friends and their teachers at ACE!

My son was in the public school system at a highly-rated school for three years (K-2) before we…read moreswitched to ACE. While the public school was doing its best, my son, who was tested as Gifted, was not learning much and, due to the funding shortages, was not getting specialized attention. In the Fall of his 2nd year in the public school, I talked to his teacher, and she told me that while she would love to feed my son with more advanced materials, she did not have the time or resources with 22 kids in the class. She was the one who told us that if we had the means, we should move our son to a private school. That is when we started our search among the private schools in Austin and decided on ACE after visiting five private schools in the area. We decided on ACE because of its individualized approach to each kid academically and its main emphasis on social-emotional learning. My son is gifted but is not neurodivergent and does not present any specific social-emotional issues. At first, we were concerned whether the small classes (there are 11 in my son's class) would be socially limiting and whether having some 2E children in the school would take attention away from "not neurodivergent kids" like my son to more neurodivergent kids but it has been three months since we started at ACE and we could not be happier. My son is happy every morning and is excited about school. We love how they have been listening to us as parents, adjusting their approaches to each kid when they deem changes necessary, and how they are fully supporting each kid in terms of social-emotional learning. I am only disappointed that we did not make this change to ACE any earlier!

Mike Shenk and his team of tutors are top notch! Mike is very careful about the tutors he hires as…read morethey all have advanced degrees and proven success in their profession. Mike's also very careful about matching his tutors with students as these tutors come into the student's home each week -- which makes the experience much more custom and personalized for the child. Over time, these tutors can become role models -- and even life coaches -- for the child. Learning Cycle Tutors has a great reputation in my community and track record of providing results for students. In fact, I see them recommended my parents on our HOA's Facebook page often. I highly recommend them.

He's always on time, really knows his stuff (all adult tutors with degrees), helps my daughter tremendously (she finally started passing STAAR tests!), is easy to talk to, and the billing is a cinch! We also needed a chemistry tutor this year and Cheryl was equally wonderful! The best thing is that they come to my house...so no extra after school driving & I can keep working on my stuff without having to pack everything up and sit in my car waiting. I would definitely give them 10 stars if I could. We're planning on staying with this company for the duration of my daughter's high school career.

Oakridge has been life changing for our daughter and our family…read more We first came to Oakridge because we were most interested in getting support for our 8 year old daughter who had gone through a big loss within our family. This loss caused a lot of anxiety and fear. It was critical that our daughter get personalized support at school to not just "deal" with the fear, but overcome it. I am proud to say that our daughter is now THRIVING. Her fears and anxieties are GONE and she is SO confident. Her emotional social and academic skills are light years above her peers. We love the guides/ teachers, peers, and community and we are now committed to staying at Oakridge Academy for the long-term. We have made long lasting connections and couldn't imagine being anywhere else.

His extensive experience highlighted the importance of being well-prepared for emergencies. We covered adult, child, and infant CPR and choking scenarios, with a reassuring emphasis on infant and child situations. The hands-on practice with both adult and child size mannequins boosted our confidence to act quickly in an emergency. The personalized, relaxed setting made it easy to ask questions, practice at our own pace, and truly absorb the material. Not only was the course informative, but it was also fun and engaging. We left with peace of mind, knowing our family is better equipped for any emergency. We highly recommend Fired Up Solutions and this at-home CPR refresher for any family, especially those with young children. It's a small investment that could make a lifesaving difference!
