Well Eddie had excellent customer service skills and communication with him was stellar! I needed to fix the floor in our bathroom because the people who sold it to us had hid rot that existed in the bathroom floor and was covered up. I was going to replace the sub-flooring and retile the bathroom myself till I found that little gem. I felt it could possibly be hiding more than I felt capable of handling. So I had reached out to Eddie and he gave us a real decent quote that worked with our budget. Not only that but he and his team were able to use the tiles I had already purchased; they were very flexible and I appreciated that so much. When the job was done the bathroom looked AMAZING!! Sunnyside Construction went above and beyond our expectations. We have had Sunnyside come back to work on our house every 3 years as we work through our home-improvement wish list. Having found a great contractor in Sunnyside, we are going to be loyal to them for as long as we are homeowners. They show up on time and got the work done according to schedule. The final bill was right in line with their estimate. We were kept advised of any issues when they came up. They clearly explained the issues and what our options were...we never felt like we were being upsold on more work. The quality of their work is very impressive. We have had them redo our flooring, completely redo our bathroom (expanded size of bathroom, moved bathroom door, tile flooring, converted a tub into a walk in shower, etc), remodel our living room (removal of a wall), replace windows, level our crawlspace, install a French drain, landscape our back yard, build a pergola, etc. All of these projects came out better than our expectations. I have to say, they were BY FAR the tidiest construction crew we have ever seen. Throughout the renovation project, they kept the house as clean as possible. David has a knack for detail. During our walkthrough before construstion, he was able to visualize what would work down to the inch. I was concerned we wouldn't have enough room to place the fridge where we wanted it. Not to worry- his experience came through and everything was spot on. Their team does not let small issues go unresolved. Even when it wasn't assigned to him. He found rusty pipes while working on the electric. He brought it to our attention and took care of it without question. I can only imagine how big the repair bill would eventually be if he did catch it. I've attached the before (grey floor) and after (blond floor) to show off his team's talent. His team: 1. Knocked out a load-bearing wall and added beam to open up the living room into the kitchen/dining. 2. Redid the floors. 3. Redid the bathroom (expanded bathroom by incorporating closet from second bedroom, created walk-in shower, added dual vanity, tiled floors) 4. Replaced windows in master bed and bathroom 5. The whole experience could hardly have been improved upon. My son and his wife had the same experience a couple years prior when Jordan built their house. His team and his subcontractors are all extremely capable and stuck with us during, and as needed, after the construction (clearing land, constructing driveway, drilling well, pouring foundation, framing, plus all that goes with electricity, plumbing, plaster, septic system, HVAC, painting, tile, windows, and more). Here's a recent example of Jordan's service: A couple months ago my son discovered a water leak from a pipe in his garage -- while he and his family were leaving for the airport to fly out of town! Larry, the project manager is kind, respectful and communicated every step of the way. I was a little sad when they were done because Larry wouldn't be coming over anymore, he was just an overall pleasure to have around. We are extremely pleased with the new roof that Mike and his crew installed on our house. There are…read moreno painless renovation projects, but Mike went above and beyond with customer service--helping us understand every step of the way. Before the job: He was extremely prompt in coming out to provide an estimate. He spent time talking with us about the value of the products that he uses, and informed us about a 50-yr warranty that we could get. He told us that other companies might be slightly cheaper, but they won't offer the same warranty or quality of products. With the few other contractors who came out for an estimate, he was exactly right. They offered a lower quality product and very little cost savings. Not Mike. He's proud of the materials he works with, and he'll tell you why they are the best. The project: The work started on-time and was complete within the timeframe we were expecting. The crew was relatively neat and tidy. After the first two days of work, my wife and I had some questions about a few of the aesthetic details. Mike took our call and spent a lot of time with us, trying to figure out how to make sure that we were happy once the project was complete. He wrote and incredibly thorough recap email that provided suggestions for how to address our questions. The result: We are very happy with the end result of the renovation. The new roof looks fantastic and works much more efficiently to vent and protect the tiles. Mike provided an itemized list of other projects we should consider doing, but he was entirely no-pressure with us when we only decided to do a few (not all) of them through Hawks. I never felt like he was up-selling us. Just looking out for our house. Sidenote: I believe Mike said he used to do home inspections. It's clear from my experience with him that he knows a lot about how to keep a home protected from the elements--functioning properly. I felt that I could always depend on him to give me honest advice for the best way to update and protect our home. Summary: I'd recommend Hawks for anyone who needs work done on their roof. As I said before, no renovation is painless, but Mike and his team made sure to do the best quality work, with the best materials at a price that was within our budget.
