I am new to having Apple Healthcare and seeing that this office was covered chose it for my eye exam. An oddly brief exam, I have worn eye glasses for 40 years now. The woman in the front is lovely and very helpful. I received my Rx but since hardware is not covered by the state insurance plan waited almost a week to go in and order glasses. Due to my own financial circumstances, this was necessary. I returned ordered the frames I had chosen and paid out of pocket. New glasses came in about a week later. I was given something to look at to see if I could read, these are progressives-which I have worn for many years now. And the Dr. was gotten to make any adjustments. Adjustment was minor. 9 days after wearing these new glasses and before taking my family in for new prescriptions I decide to have my Rx reevaluated. I tried to call and they are closed for remodeling for the next few months with the exception of picking up a prescription on file or your contacts. At this point I decide to have my eyes reevaluated with another eye Dr.. I have been having a hard time seeing with this pair unless I look straight through the reader portion at print. After a comprehensive eye exam with another area Dr. in which I could see so much better. . . initially she put the Rx from this clinic into the vision machine and tested it. I could not see to read the line?! Yes, I was not properly examined and given an adequate, updated Rx. Then paid out of pocket for new glasses from this office. Since my insurance was already charged for the exam, I also paid out of pocket for the additional eye exam. The corrected Rx was taken to Warby Parker where I was able to order progressive high index lenses in better fitting frames with the corrected Rx for $105 less than here. Not including the paying for another eye exam elsewhere. I am disappointed. Dr. Min and Carrie are polite, especially the woman at the front counter Carrie/Kari, but the exam was not complete and I was sold glasses with an incorrect Rx. This is a challenging time to be paying for a necessary item such as eyeglasses. I have since left a message wanting to resolve this and am planning to contact Apple Health as I await my corrected eyeglasses. Until that time I have had to go back to my old glasses for driving safely. This is concerning because he is a provider with Apple Health for eye exams. read more

I have rarely received such thorough care from medical professionals in my life. Dr. Min is extraordinary. His goal is to make sure you have exactly what you need for your eyesight. Dr. Min had two follow up appointments for me, just to nail down the perfect prescription for bifocal contacts. My eyes are unique and he was determined to give me the best vision possible. I have worn bifocal contacts in the past, thru the Costco optical and this is the absolute best vision I have had in years. Rita is an exceptional receptionist. She is so helpful, caring and kind. She is also very savvy about insurance and ordering. I found her to be patient (like Dr. Min), professional and also personable. What great people!!! I am so happy I found this very accessible place for parking and location. The office is so comfortable and had air-conditioning during this hot summer week. read more

Got me in quickly, and I loved that the woman at front desk is allowed to have her very sweet and well-behaved dog at work. Dr. Min's examination was the quickest I've had ever. He did not spend significant time dialing in to exactly the right correction for each measure and eye. He promised to have the prescription emailed to me and to the online vendor where my glasses were to be purchased. The next day, when I had not received any email with the information, I called, and a different person (from prior day) answered. She said she would send the email, which she did. When I read the new prescription, I knew at a glance it couldn't possibly be correct. 1) It was entirely missing some of the measures needed. 2) It was hugely different from the current prescription, when the current one is still working quite well and should hardly have changed at all. I emailed back asking that she recheck the information provided, and explaining why I suspected it might be wrong. After 10 days of no response, I emailed again. Got a call in which Louise acknowledged there had been an error, and sent me a new prescription, which was still clearly wrong. As an example, the Cylinder measures are negative numbers, while the ones that currently work well are positive. Oddly, I have mistakenly ordered lenses with this number entered as negatives, and couldn't see for crap. The axis numbers (needed along with Cylinder to correct astigmatism) are both 90, where current prescription is 180 and 12. They did offer to make a new appointment and redo the exam at no charge, but at this point I have no confidence that using my time to go back will produce a better result. So, writing off the $70 I spent out of pocket for the visit. Thanks for trying. I guess. read more

No nonsense kind of place. Parking: Huge lot out front Ambiance: Your average little eye shop. Service: Front desk lady is SUPER friendly. I came in for a contact fitting. Doc is also very professional, really seems to know what he's doing. They don't seem to push stuff you don't need and they don't charge crazy expenses for contact fitting. THANK YOU! My son came in a year ago because we noticed he was squinting to read things far away. One of this teachers made a comment we should have his eyes checked so we went here. The doctor showed him the chart and asked him to read the letters. My son hesitated to read even the really large ones and I was thinking how could I have possibly missed his bad eyesight before!!! But then the doctor said his eyesight is fine. I was like "WHAT?" But then he explained that the problem was he was afraid of getting the answers wrong and that's why he hesitated. The doc correctly guessed that I had told my son that he would have to get glasses if he didn't do well and that's why he hesitated so much. I came out of there thinking - now there's a very experienced doctor! Recommendation: I really like this place. Great doc for the whole family. read more

Not sure how to rate the price because my vision insurance from work covered all but $20. I went in on a Thursday morning and got an appointment for later that day. After my eye exam I was picking out frames and found a few I kind of liked. The desk person, Rita, was helping me. I found a pair I liked the look of but didn't like the color. She offered to go in the back room and see if there might be something different that wasn't brought out yet. She eventually came out with a few ideas including the ones I wound up getting that were frameless but also plain and simple. Perfect! I also mentioned to her that I was concerned about glare from the lenses not having a frame around them. She was able to get me an upgrade to the lowest glare lense possible. The glasses took about a week and a half to arrive, but no big deal because I already had a pair. Thanks for the service! read more

Dr. Min is the nicest, kindest, most thoughtful eye Dr. I have ever met. He is able to get glasses for people with disability in communicating. He really cares about each person he meets. What a lovely place to do business. His staff are also wonderful, happy and helpful. read more

I have had glasses since I was in elementary school and been to a lot of optometrist - this is my favorite one to date. If you are looking for an excellent optometrist with good customer service, an efficient office, and at a good price, COME TO AURORA VISION CENTER! Optometrist: He is very friendly, super helpful, and very efficient. I've never had an eye exam take longer than 30 minutes. I've never had to wait for the doctor, I've never felt put out by him. He has always explained my options to me very well and without any kind of pressure whatsoever. He taught me how to put my contacts in for the first time! And he always sends me home with samples of contacts - every single time. Fantastic guy who I would recommend to anyone! Receptionist: Rita is great! She is wonderful at scheduling appointments, great about returning calls, FANTASTIC at explaining your benefits to you and how to get the most for your money! I asked her to jot down a style of glasses that I liked one time and 6 months later, she still had that note in my file so that she could order it for me when my benefits renewed! Can't rave about her enough. Price: I did a lot of looking around on in-store prices for frames at several different offices in Seattle. The prices of the overall selection of glasses frames at Aurora Vision Center was definitely lower than at every other store I looked. Their contact prices are pretty average for in-office purchases, which is generally more expensive than online. But Rita will be sure to remind you to check online before buying in-store if you're paying out of pocket. Ambiance: Definitely professional and clean. Looks like they've been there a good long time, definitely a little dated, but not more so than most doctor's offices. Nice big open reception area, and the offices are quite spacious. Went AVC for about 4 years. Rita the best, doc helpful. For 2 years the doc noted my vision was declining, which was strange for a guy in his late 50s. Doc did not know what was cause, despite several tests each of 2 years of visits. July of this 2nd year of declining vision, driving home from work, I grew frustrated and stopped in clinic. Doc was helpful and understood, but didn't know cause. He suggested ask my regular doctor. My GP said all was good on his end, but I should see an opthamologist. Went to opthamologist, and before I met the doctor, nurse gave me the first part of exam. Part of that was a simple chart test, which confirmed my declining sight, especially one eye. Before I met the opthamologist the nurse handed me a paddle with multiple little holes in it, to view through. To my amazement my worst eye could read a line better on the chart through this simple paddle! The nurse mentioned that while the doc would confirm with his exam, the paddle test indicates cataract. OM exam found cataract level 3 in one eye, level 1 in the other. With cataract surgery 2 years ago I now have 20-15 eyesight now. So would I go to AVC again? Maybe, as they are very fair on prescriptions and glasses/lenses. But the exams are a bit lacking... read more

Best customer service I have received from any establishment in a while. I have a mother with Dementia that I was arranging an appointment for and the young lady at the front (Rita) made my life so much easier. She is patient, answered my incessant questions, and offered numerous helpful ideas to make the appointment go smoothly. She even called me after the appointment to let me know how it went.
