There was a wet diaper in the hall, and a woman wandering in the hall with no pants on! I was visiting when the tech came in and asked me if I could take care of the mess that I had gone to get her to clean up. The patients have NO way to call for help other than hollering until someone happens to come in. When I asked about this, they told me "we check on them". I was there for 4 hours, and no one came in. The meals are HORRIBLE. I stayed to enjoy a meal with her, and no one at the table could eat the meal. None of us could even figure out what it was, broccoli with a brown gravy stuff on it.

Their homes, care facilities,…read moreetc. Recently, I've been lucky enough to have weekly visits to Countryside Living in Queen Creek. The facility is only a year old, and you'd never know it. Everyone seems like they've known each other for a lifetime and the hardworking team of employees has made a beautiful home for those living there. I've been blown away by this facility. From the attentive staff, the residents, the beautiful grounds, their activities and inclusion of all residents- it makes my heart so full. You feel like family the moment you walk in. The upbeat and compassionate energy is so contagious. They have one activity that I'm particularly touched by. Each week, Trader Joe's donates their unsellable flowers to Countryside. The residents join in the common area to create their own floral arrangements, which decorate the halls and lobby of this one-of-a-kind establishment. The smiles, the conversations, the interactions with one another...it's beautiful. As I was leaving today, after the floral arrangement activity, they had a little table set up in the lobby. "FLOWERS: $10". On the table were beautiful arrangements made by the residents that they were selling to visitors. My heart melted. How proud they were of their masterpieces and how each week, they meticulously pick out stems from the BOUNTY of flowers that were donated and put their own personal touches into their creations. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to purchase an arrangement. This wasn't made by an expert florist. This is a bouquet made by the hands of someone very special. Someone who finds joy in the small things. Someone who has a lifetime of stories to share. Someone who sees the beauty in friendships, small talk and being in the moment. Someone who reminds me everyday why I do what I do. Thank you, Countryside Living, for making each day a beautiful one for your residents.

For three years I cared for my mother as she battled dementia, it was one of the hardest experiences of my life, I struggled to understand her mood swings her refusal to eat, shower, or take medication. I eventually had to accept that I didn't have the skills or knowledge to provide the care she needed, after moving her four times since 2022 I was feeling hopeless until one day in March 2023 I overheard a woman at the grocery store raving about a place of joy she described it as heaven on Earth a place where her father was cared for with love and dedication her words stuck with me and I decided to visit from the moment I walked in I felt something different the owner Chela is incredibly attentive to detail and it's clear that she runs this home with both expertise and a huge heart every time I visit often unannounced I see caregivers who are genuinely happy always smiling and treating the residents with kindness and patience. She is well fed, the facility is always clean, the meals are wonderful, and she is as happy as one can be under her circumstances. Her husband, my uncle, visits regularly, and always knows he will find his wife up and dressed, having a meal, or just finishing one, with clean linens on the bed, a comfortable chair where she feels safe, and people around who care for her and make her feel safe. I am grateful for the peace of mind my uncle has knowing the staff care greatly about and for my aunt which allows him some sense of comfort since they cannot be together in their home.
