Exceptional service! My stylist Eliana truly transformed my look. I came in looking for exactly what I came out with, honestly better than the pictures. Do not book with Kendra! I arrived 10 minutes late due to finding a parking spot. Upon sitting in the chair Kendra says before we begin can we just do face framing today because she was short on time. I simply said no. She said because I was 10 minutes late I would have to reschedule in order to complete my partial - what???? I have waited for her on numerous occasions and not once did I hold that against her. What a joke!!!! She really thought that I was going to reschedule, I said I would call and walked out, as if I would ever give her another cent of my hard earned money. After my daughter heard what happened, she cancel her upcoming appointment. What a great start to the holiday!!! Merry Christmas! read more

DO NOT COME HERE! SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE WHO DO NOT WANT TO EVEN HELP FIX THEIR MISTAKES ON MY HAIR! Kylee cut my hair which to me is a simple haircut and didn't even take the time to talk me through my cut. I left thinking it was okay till I got home and noticed she didn't even take weight off the bottom layer of my hair. I let a few days go by to see if it would grow on me but I finally called to see if I could get a re-cut and they told me I wouldn't be able to be fit it in. Didn't even offer me a refund. Owner never called to follow up or anything. I will be posting a TikTok about this as well. read more

Aurea Salon Spa - haircut/style - Hair Salons Near Me - Katy, Texas

Aurea is the best place for a haircut in Katy! I have been getting my hair cut by Colleen for as long as I can remember, and she always does an amazing job. I highly recommend making an appointment with her! In my experience, everyone at this location has always been super friendly. During COVID 19 they are taking extra precautions, such as having you wait outside the studio and taking your temperature when you check in for an appointment. read more

Poor customer service, I liked my stylist & went to her every 6 weeks for over a year BUT they double book so while my color develops she's doing another person's color or cut. My hair overprocessed & color was too dark & I had to come back in to get it fixed. I basically paid for color to be removed that I just paid for. They don't heat tool style ur hair just blow dry. I referred 3 of my family members there & my daughter was told by her stylist that she "didn't have time to style her hair because she had another client" I'm sorry but for these prices everyone should walk out of the salon with amazing hair not flat frizzy blowouts or wet hair. They increase prices with no notice. When I asked if I could book a certain day or time so I'm the only client for my stylist they refused so we are not going back. read more

As a black woman, I'd only come for a trim. To start off, the staff was amazing!! Very attentive and great conversation (which definitely helped the time go by) but I did unfortunately leave the salon disappointed. I booked a color consultation where the stylist and I settled on the price of $320 for a flat color, cut, wash and silk press, and if I was to want highlights it would be $370 (keep in mind for later). I was sure to inform them of my natural curly texture and expressed how thick my hair was and we seemed to reach an understanding. Two weeks later and I arrive at my 12pm appointment, everything was great up until after the wash, my hair wasn't even half as light as I wanted it to be and that was acknowledged by both me and the stylist. Yet there was no attempt to get me to my desired color afterward, which I can understand since everything is time based and on a schedule, but I was told if I wanted to come back I could book another appointment to try again which I'd have to pay in full. The process of giving me a silk press was long but in the end it resembled a blowout. The only service I got truly worth the money was the wash and cut. I don't hate the end result, only because it's almost identical to what I sat down in the chair with, just shorter. In the end I didn't leave the salon until around 5:45, so just shy of 6 hours. Now don't get me wrong, my stylist was an amazing person but for my first salon experience I wish the money and time I put into the service showed in the results. Also, when I was quoted for highlights at the end of my service (my stylist said it would be a better route and add dimension) I was told it would be $399!! I originally thought it would be around $70 because of the first quotes I was told during my consultation given the small price difference, but I was told it was to account for the extra time and products. Truly the prices felt like a punishment, because my hair is thick and tedious, I'd have to come out of pocket $400 for something others pay less than $200 for. I'll put photos below of my reference photos for the color I wanted along with how my hair looked when I arrived and left the salon. Again I know I was charged for the time rather than service, I just wish it was reflected in the outcome. read more

Recently went there for a wash and style. I inquired on the cost and was informed it would be $45 but if it was over 45 minutes there would be an additional charge I was never informed the additional cost. My stylist was finished in 50 minutes and I was charged an additional $20 which is excessive for the extra 5 minutes. I like my stylist but refuse to pay $65 for a simple wash and style. I am seriously debating not returning here for any services. read more

My girls and I now have a new salon. Nancy and Chloe did an amazing job and took great care of us. My previous stylist may have rushed through my last cut and left my hair all uneven and choppy. Chloe showed me what she was doing and how she was going to fix it. At the end my hair looked great and she did not have to take much length off. Nancy made sure to listen to my girls as to what they wanted and their hair looks way better then it used to! read more

My first feeling on this salon we're not the best, but after my total experience I have had a change of heart. I went in last Saturday and I asked for a specific cut on my hair. The stylist left my hair in worse condition than when I came in. I was very upset about my hair after I left. I returned to the salon to see if they could help to fix my hair because it was pretty sad looking. The Owner of the salon was quick to make amends and fix my hair even better than what it was before my first haircut. I am very pleased with how she took care of me and made sure that my hair was perfect. I left looking better than when I walked in. I cannot thank her enough for making sure that I was not left upset and looking bushwhacked. She has so much experience and knowledge in her profession. I felt extremely comfortable with her. I would recommend this salon hands down. Very clean and very professional. Thank you again for helping correct my haircut. You guys rock. read more

I've been going to this Salon for over six years now.. I have never been treated so disrespectful as I was today. The young lady at the counter that took my payment was extremely rude and very unprofessional told me that the credit card on file had expired and I needed to have a new one on file. I refuse to give her a new one. I've been going to the salon for over six years now never missed an appointment and have never been late. They use these credit cards to charge people that do not cancel their appointments. Or are a no-show I have never been either one. They told me if I didn't get them a new credit card with updated information. They were going to cancel all my schedule appointments so if that's how they conduct business I guess I don't need them. Personally, I think the prices are extremely high and they don't care about their clients . They only care about the dollar. Which is really sad. I loved my stylist. She was extremely talented. Unfortunately I won't get to use her again because they have pushed me out the door so I would not recommend them. read more

I have been going to Cori for the last 3 years, and my hair has never looked more beautiful. I work in retail, so I see tons of people every day, and I get daily compliments on my hair, regardless if I just got it done or if it's been a couple months. Cori makes your hair look naturally and effortlessly beautiful and she makes sure to style and cut your hair respectfully according to your preferences and how often you like to get your hair done. Cori is definitely in high demand so make sure to book your appointment with her 3-4 weeks in advance. I promise you, you won't be disappointed. read more

I wanted to try a new salon to be able to get more blonde, and i am totally in LOVE with this salon. The salon was so relaxing, and peaceful. I saw Jenny for a full heavy highlight, and it was a PERFECT experience. She was so nice, warming, and caring. She also made sure to do what she could so my hair wasn't fried at the end of the appointment. I am seeing her again in November to get more blonde. She also made sure to let me know when her prices went up so I wasn't shocked when i went. Also what she quoted me was the exact amount to pay at the end of the appointment, and the salon on the website has a new guest offer $20 a service $50 or more. I would most definitely recommend going here! it is on the expensive side, but it's SO worth it! read more

I used to go to this salon religiously when we first moved to Katy, but after our stylist changed locations we went with her. I hadn't been in a while, but happened to be in town and wanted to get my hair done because I love the products used here. They got me in for a consultation and appoint within 2 days back to back and I am so happy with the results!! I had Kylie for my color and Gina for my shampoo and dry (Gina actually cut my hair here 12 years ago she's great) and they both did an amazing job and made sure I left the salon happy with the results!! It is so hard to match a blonde to what kind of blonde you're actually going for and they did just that!! I was going for a warm rooted blonde with gold tones and after some concerns of being too ashy/white blonde from my mother LOL they toned it up we got a perfect match! and looked even better in direct sun Thank you ladies keep killing it and i love the new updated salon!! read more

Good: They sell aveda products, so if you need 'em, this is where to get 'em. Eh: They offer a "complimentary service" during hair cuts/color. The options are things like hand massage, head massage, quick aroma therapy...I pick one each time, they never remember to actually give it. Pedicure: it's ok. It isn't set apart from any quickie nail place at all. The massage was less than 5 min, whole thing about 30 min. Bad: Tangee for color - stay away blondes! She comes straight from Visible Changes, not a salon that I believe harbors talent or promotes proper color treatment or education. Tall, spikey haired, tattooed hair dresser - only does cuts. Also straight from Visible Changes ( the fantastic sams of the south), she can't cut hair. I had to have my cut fixed twice after she botched it. Bottom line: try Emmanuel salon in la centerra. It's right around the park and they promote education and most of their stylists and colorists are Toni and Guy trained. read more

SHOUTOUT to Amber Fleming of Aurea Salon! Amber so very skillfully fixed my locks!!! I am thrilled with the color and the 4" cut to give my hair great shape! She did a single process brunette color that worked to rid me of my dastardly redness and massive gray roots, she used a lucious botanical repair treatment with clear gloss, and then a color lock to reduce my frizz and make my hair super smooth! I love how she verbalized and explained each step of my transformation. If you are looking for skillful TLC and creative transformation then Amber is who you need to see! read more

My stylist does a great job but the price for highlights is ridiculous and then they charge you extra to blow dry your hair when you do highlights with no cut. I've spent almost $200 and walked out with wet hair. I'm searching for another Aveda salon. read more

Wow, is all I can say! I went for a full highlight and cut with Chloe and spent $330. I came home and there were visible stripes on the side of my head. I called back and scheduled an appt to have it fixed. It took around 2 weeks to get back in. I had something unexpected come up and had to reschedule that appt. When I finally made it in to get it fix about 5 weeks later (not my fault that it takes so long to get in), Chloe told me that it would be $70 to fix her mistakes. I told her that didn't seem fair, and that it was her fault I had to come back in (wasting my time). She went and asked her manager, who said I would have to pay if I wanted to get it repaired. This seems like really poor business practices, in addition to highway robbery...charging $330 for someone who clearly isn't qualified to color hair properly. I had higher expectations of an Aveda salon. read more

I used to go to this salon monthly for the last 3 years. My stylist is co-owner of the salon- I showed up for my routine appointment promptly on time. I was advised that Nora was still working on a client and to have a seat, at the beauty table. I sat there for 25 MINUTES. No one came over to let me know it would be just another minute, or to offer me water or tea.... nothing. This is a prime example of a company taking advantage of loyal customers. I've also referred 3 clients to them and only received credit for 1, which I never redeemed... they can keep it as I have advised them too of my experience; they won't be returning. They may offer a decent service, but they definitely don't appreciate or recognize loyalty! read more

Honestly, I was not gonna write a review as it is something I never really do but I've been so depressed over my hair and the haircut I received at this salon that it's only justifiable I say something for my peace of mind. After waiting and contemplating for a while I went in to get my grown out shoulder length hair that was previously cut from really long into a short bob cut. I just wanted a nice textured bob that would work with my naturally wavy hair and make my hair look healthier which was my main concern, the health of my hair. I didn't really care about going really short as long as it looked nice which I explained to the hairstylist, Amber, who cut my hair. I showed her several pictures and made sure she knew what I was going for, something effortless that didn't require so much styling to look nice since I don't really like to style my hair everyday. She cut a significant amount of my hair which I was totally fine with and then went in to "texturize" it. I guess and this is where it all went wrong. I didn't notice at the time but she literally butchered the entire middle of my hair and cut it into so many different lengths that there is no way to even make my hair lay down without putting a bunch of products in it. Once the haircut was over and she blow dried my hair it looked relatively nice since it was flat on my head but once I slept on it and woke up I realized something was wrong because it was sticking out from every direction and the back was longer than the front which gave it this awkward mullet look that was not cute whatsoever. So I called the salon and let them know and I went back in and had some of the back chopped off by another stylist to make it look more even . Once I got home and washed my hair and let it air dry I realized just how badly my hair was cut, there were literally pieces on the top as short as an inch and it was tapered so much at the end that my once healthy looking hair looked like it's been fried completely due to the way the ends were thinned out. Needless to say I was traumatized when I saw how bad the haircut looked and was forced to style endlessly so it didn't look like a birds nest. Ever since I got it cut I've been trying everything to grow out my hair but I can't even fix it because the layers she put in my hair were so short that I can't just cut my hair off and start over. I honestly feel like crying every time I see my hair in the mirror. I literally thought..it's a bob haircut what could go wrong, short hair is supposed to look bouncy and healthy and the way she cut mine makes it look like my daughter took scissors to my hair and just cut it randomly in every direction. It doesn't even lay flat on my head unless I blow dry it down for an hour, which, as a new mom completely defies the point of wanting a short, easy wash and go type of haircut where I don't have to spend precious time trying to make look remotely presentable. read more

I went to Aurea Salon for a haircut a couple of weeks ago with Kylee and she did a great job!! I had waited almost a year since my last haircut due to the pandemic and finally decided to venture out for a new do. I chose Aurea because it was not too far from my house, an Aveda salon (LOVE Aveda!), and the services were reasonably priced. Kylee gave me the exact cut I asked for and had in mind, and did so very quickly without making it feel rushed. My family has moved a lot in the past few years and I haven't had the opportunity to be a return customer to any stylist, so I am excited to have finally found a salon near my home that I will definitely be returning to! read more

I went in for the very first time in search of a new hair stylist in Houston and set up an appointment with Creative Director Collene. The place was not crowded as it was expected on a Monday morning. Receptionist and hair stylist was friendly and courteous. My haircut was as I had asked her and what I am used to getting from my old stylist I had to part ways with in Aveda in Denver, CO. Overall, works well for my needs and keeps me from driving too far. I'll probably try few other places in near future just to be able to compare, but I'm kind of hooked to Aveda concepts, so other places would be a hard sell! read more

Super disappointed in my service yesterday! I went it for a root touch up and the stylist over quoted me for 2 bowls of color ($90). She only used one bowl of color on my hair and after the color was applied I confirmed with the stylist that only one bowl was used and I'd like the second one taken off, which was just supposed to be a gloss. When we finished and I went to pay, I asked that the price be adjusted due to only using one bowl. They claimed that a second bowl was used at the hair washing station to pull the color through my ends. I never saw any second bowl used at the washing station and never felt any extra color being added to my hair. The whole thing was very shady. I feel like I was taken advantage of and charged extra since I'm younger. $90 for a BASIC root touch with no blow dry or style is just so ridiculous and I will never be back to this salon! read more
