Showed photos of what I wanted and everything, and I still didn't get what I want - but for a reversible side part that I didn't ask for in the first place. I know how I part my hair. There's no need to be extra if it's not asked for. They don't wash your hair, or dry it. I had so many flecks of hair on my face I had to excuse myself afterward to wipe it myself. My barber was friendly at least but I cant recommended this place in good faith if you care about your hair.

After a lot of trial and error, I found myself at Father & Son Barber Shop. After many wonderful visits, I have decided to call Father & Son my hair-needs-home! To make a haircut, beard trim, or other service reservation, be sure to go to their website. I am always able to find a time that works for me, as long as I book at least a week in advance. When you first walk in, you feel like you've been taken back in time to a neighborhood community barbershop that is warm, welcoming, clean, and professional. That is exactly the service you will receive, with all the modern advances and technology needed. In fact, you walk in and "check-in" at an I-pad stand to let them know you've arrived. You can then go sit in the waiting area with comfy chairs, a rack to hang coats, and a clean bathroom. The staff always greet you with a welcoming smile. While I've loved every hairstylist, Mitch K. has become my go-to. He is friendly, caring, and a top-notch hair stylist! Thanks for always providing high quality care and service, Mitch! Prices are very reasonable, but make sure you know it is cash-only. You'll want to make sure you go with enough cash for the service you scheduled, as well as a tip. If you are like me and looking for a new barbershop to call home, take yourself over to Father & Son Barber Shop for your next hair styling needs. You won't regret it!

You can no longer drop in and see if someone is available. If the wait wasn't too long it was really nice to sit in the waiting area and dive into the mountain of magazines mostly guy stuff, car magazines, travel, magazines for guys ( no Playboy or other soft porn). Or it was interesting to watch the barbers work, very friendly, chatting away. They were particularly good with kids. The haircuts were great, I assume they still are. I've tried dropping in but they are always busy. I usually cut my own hair, so making an appointment doesn't work for me.

I was really liking how things were progressing with my length and needed a bit of shaping up so I made an appointment with Ashley. I showed her inspo pics with flowy length on the top and sides with a low taper in front of the ears (just barely above the sideburns) and a clean longer taper in the back. I didn't ask for anything overly complicated. As she finished the haircut and handed me the mirror to look, she said "I did the best I could but your hair is SO straight." Mind you one of the inspo pics I shared was an East Asian guy who had straight hair like me. She ended up buzzing my hair all the way up the side of my head into a severe undercut, where the longer hair on top stuck out in thin spikes. One side was cut differently than the other. The back was not tapered at all. I did not get the flow haircut I asked for, and I was devastated. I went home and tried to find a way to style this travesty of a haircut that could salvage it but there was no way. I texted pics to some friends and their responses were: "oh they did you dirty", and "who did this?? I'm ready to fight!" and "this is follicular malpractice!". I couldn't go out in public like this, so I ended up buzzing the top completely off, losing all of the length I spent so long growing out. I'm so mad that I spent over 45 bucks on one of worst haircuts I've ever gotten.

With this, when I find a barber shop that gives a me a quality cut in line with what I asked for, I have no reason to go anywhere else. This is that case with Artur's. No matter which barber I went to, the cut (and sometimes beard trim) was always what I asked for. Service has always been kind and polite, also. I've tried looking at other barber shops to see what's out there, but I always find myself booking an appointment here. No need to poke the bear. Finally, the vibe is simple. It is neither the very old school with wood older than my father, nor is it one of the fancy modern places that services cocktails (not that there's anything wrong with either). Me being me, while vibe can be nice, I do to get my hair done, not primarily for the social aspect. All this said, I see Artur's remaining my go-to shop, at least as long as I live in the general area.
