Street parking only. No private lot. Very close to the Irving Park Brown line stop. Roxanne is great. She takes meticulous care to understand what kind of cut you want. Very relaxed atmosphere and easy to talk about what kind of cut you want. I prefer scissor cuts (vs clippers) and she took good care of me. Mens cuts are $35. Don't forget to tip! read more

Went here for the first time. Roxanne is amazing. Takes her time and gave me a perfect haircut. I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted but she figured it out. Very reasonably priced as well. Will be going back. read more

Best neighborhood haircut yet, will be back as a regular customer. Roxanne did an amazing job and is reasonably priced.

Roxanne has been cutting my hair for years and does an excellent job! She listens to how you want your hair to look and is very quick and efficient. She also does a great job with Covid safety. Definitely recommend! read more

I've gone to three different stylists at A Sharper Image salon and been happy with the haircut every time. I have long hair for a man so I am a little more picky with my haircut. It's not as easy as going to the local Supercuts n telling them two on the sides n Scissor cut the top. Go here. read more

Oh, just another 5 star review for A Sharper Image. I pass this place literally every day on the bus and now feel stupid for waiting so long to stop in. Jett cut my hair and did a phenomenal job. She was great to talk to and the decor of the salon was great. The price was very reasonable. They offer packages of add-ones beyond the haircut. Do yourself a favor and get a shampoo. Besides a hot towel treatment, there's music, aromatherapy, and it's just a nice, relaxing experience. I'll be back in the usual 4-5 weeks! read more

I've been seeing Roxanne for my haircuts for many years. She is wonderful! The salon is a very relaxed environment! The place itself Invites majority of the male audience but they see women too. Refreshments and popcorn and lots of seating space. First come first server walk ins welcome. I prefer to make an appt. I live in the northern suburbs and travel all the way to Chicago to see Roxanne. All are welcome! Me, the mister, and my kids got our haircuts today. I highly recommend this place. read more

As the Duke of A Sharper Image Salon and Barber I feel it imperative to let all of my minions know that this is the best haircut in Chicago. Roxanne is super nice and her prices seriously can't be beat. Lest we forget though you are here for a haircut, and she always does a great job cutting my beautiful locks whilst I watch TV on the personal TV everyone gets at each station. She knows exactly how I like my hair (sexy) and sees to it I get the same great results every time I go. She always runs great deals, and you can always drop in for a clean up, which can be helpful for those of us whose hair grows very fast (not complaining). 49/365 read more

Roxanne and her team are the best in the city!! Not only do you get a fantastic hair cut but a neck shave that leaves you feeling great... I highly recommend getting the shampoo and warm towel on the face.. extremely relaxing after a long week/day. I will continue to visit Roxanne and team whenever I need a cut... Also, VERY reasonable prices, no complaints. Love this place read more

PERFECTION I love this place so much that I commute all the way from Wicker Park just to get my hair cut here. Things I love... 1.) Skilled, friendly staff; all the ladies are experienced and take pride in their work - you never feel like they are rushing like at other places 2.) It's convenient; right next to the Irving Park Brown line stop 3.) No appointments necessary; you can just walk in 4.) Cool environment geared toward guys with TVs playing sports in the waiting area and at every station 5.) Fair prices 6.) Great extras: neck and shoulder massages, hot towels, straight razor neck shaves, etc. read more

Get a great haircut and more. Only barber I've gone to more than twice. Roxanne won't let you leave the chair unless it's perfect. You can find cheaper, but I haven't found better read more

I've received the best haircuts at Sharper Image. I was going to a pretty good salon before but decided to try Sharper Image after my previous hairstylist was unavailable and how lucky was I! The staff is friendly and the ambiance is very cool. It was also very easy to get to since it is located so close to the brown line. Try them out you will not be disappointed. - Malcolm read more

This place lives up to the hype! The staff are very friendly and informative - especially to a newcomer. They explained all the services they offered in a way that was helpful and suggestive, but not in any way pushy - which was great. In fact, they made it a point to speak to what my needs might be and simply outlined how I might expand into other services with them - while not having to do it all on my first shot. The atmosphere is also pretty cool. Comfortable chairs, not crowded, with tvs around to entertain while waiting or during the cut. The prices are reasonable and there are all sorts of deals and promotions to take advantage of. The quality of the haircut is also top tier. Before long into my sitting, Roxanne gleaned more about my head and hair growth than anyone I've seen before. Usually, I have to let them know about my preferences or things to be aware of with my hairline, but she spotted them all from jump and catered to the needs of my head/hair :) It should also be mentioned the complimentary warm neck shave alone is worth going. They have additional services for shampoo and shave, which I'll be looking in to for future visits. I'm happy to have found a quality spot that just happens to be right around the corner from me. While I'll enjoy that perk, others can enjoy it's super convenient location RIGHT off the Irving Park Brown Line stop. read more

I've been getting my hair cut by Roxanne for many years now. Always a wonderful experience. She listens to what you want, pays attention to the details, and offers her expertise if you want to try something new. read more

I have been a fan of Roxanne Ruiz' haircutting talents for years. She and her team are friendly and fast. And more importantly, they are good. Roxanne knows how to cut my hair just the right amount so that I no longer look shaggy, but don't look like I just got a haircut. Plus, I like the 'value add' services like the hot towel, the hair and scalp treatment, etc. I travel to Chicago every week on business. And while I no longer stay close to her establishment, I like it enough to make the trek by CTA or cab in order to visit her. Worth a visit! read more

Roxanne is awesome! She took time to explain what she was going to do and was very patient.

A Sharper Image is a trendy new salon with a barber shop feel conveniently located next to the Irving Park brown line stop. The shop features a variety of services, of which I opted for the "Debonnaire" package. This package included not just a typical haircut/shampoo, but featured a facial/scalp massage, steam towel, and back massage. Additionally, they offer eybrow waxing and paraffin hand theropy. I have been a client of Danielle's prior to her moving to this salon and couldn't recommend her enough! Great conversation and a great haircut in a salon that makes you feel super welcome and appreciated! read more

Are you looking for a new place to get your hair cut? This place has over 30 reviews...all 5 stars. What more do you need? We love this place. My husband and son have both been going here for about 9 months. Clean and modern ambiance. Popcorn from their machine complimentary on the way out. They do women sometimes but it's really geared toward men - and they excel at it. Roxanne is amazing. Super friendly, fun to talk to, great listener, makes suggestions based on your hair, and awesome haircuts. The other stylists are great too, but we love Roxanne. Comfortable waiting area with huge leather couches and a big screen tv. Appointments recommended - especially for Roxanne. Free neck trims between haircuts. They even will do you hair over again within 7 days if you don't like something about it . We've never needed it. Convenient? It's below the brown line el stop at Irving park. Walking distance for us - but if we lived anywhere on the brown line we'd go here for sure. My son and husband love adding the hot face towel, shampoo, and face massage as an upgrade. It is their favorite part and a nice affordable luxury. Don't skip the upgrade! Last, be sure to sign up for their emails. Some fun and cost savings items included each time. read more

Best haircut in Chicago I have gone to Roxanne for years, and would not trust my haircut to anyone else. It's also great to get the steam towel and facial massage after a long week. Very relaxing All very experienced stylist here. Try it out if you are looking for a new spot. You will not regret it read more

Roxanne and her staff are great, To have a hair stylist that is more of perfectionist than myself is rare, and Roxy will not let me get out of the chair until she thinks the haircut is perfect. I suggest getting the hot towel and shampoo! It is 10 minutes of relaxation that I wished I had everyday. I suggest making an appointment or calling ahead. read more

I'm weird about haircuts; they make me anxious, for whatever reason. However, going here was amazing. Roxanne helped me feel comfortable while she cut my hair, taught me how to better take care of my hair, and overall treated me so well. Also, the actual hair cut was the best I've ever received. Although I have only been here once, I already know I'll never get my hair cut anywhere else. read more

Best haircut I have had in Chicago (I have been here 10 years). I have found my "home for a haircut." The service was outstanding. My hair was cut exactly the way I wanted it and it is clear that the stylists take great pride in their work. I am looking forward to my return visit. Keith read more

If it were possible to give more than five stars I would! Roxanne is incredible!! I walked out of the shop feeling like a million bucks! She did an incredible job in my hair and awesome in outlining my goatee. Definite keeper! read more

After researching a slew of barber shops and salons in the north-ish area, I decided to get my first haircut in the city at this place, due to its high Yelp ratings, and because it's right off the Irving Park Brown Line stop. Although I was late to my appointment (near closing time, at that), Jett was very courteous and understanding. I've never really liked my hair cut short, but I decided to take a chance this time, and man am I happy with how I look!!! Jett did an amazing job. They also keep a record of your cut's traits in case you want the same cut or something different next time. Will definitely come back when I need another shearing. read more

Best hair cut experience ever!! Tamara was awesome! She gave me some styling tips. Recommended a new look. And I'm already getting compliments! Salon is clean and the staff are super friendly. Would love to come back. Much cheaper than i expected for the service. Good value for money. read more

I've only been here twice so far, but I plan to keep coming back. I had to switch from my previous place because they raised their prices to beyond what is reasonable and Sharper Image was closer, priced more reasonably ($23 for a men's cut, as opposed to $30 at my other place) and had great Yelp reviews. I was not disappointed. Jett cut my hair both times and did a great job, the best haircut I've had in a long time. She asked the right questions about what I wanted, listened carefully and was able to give me exactly what I was looking for. She also took notes so that when I came back the second time and I told her to do the same thing, she knew exactly what to do and how long it had been since my last cut. Both times, it was easy to get an appointment with little advance notice and street parking was really easy to find. read more

Melissa is my go to girl who takes the time to make a great cut!

I was truly impressed by their yelp record and was curious about it. This place definitely deserves the 5 stars. Very friendly staff and very good customer service. Most importantly got a great haircut for a decent price. read more

I first went to A Sharper Image back when they first opened in 2012. I always left liking the way my hair looked and the price really can not be beat for the quality you get. I went throughout 2013 as a loyal customer and never left dissatisfied. Unfortunately I left the Chicago area but upon my return I was in need for a barber. I decided to shop around and look for a few others but stuck with my gut and returned to A Sharper Image. Again Roxanne did a great job for a great price. I am so glad a stuck with A Sharper Image as they have proven yet again they are the real deal. read more

Must go... Everyone there is great and take care of you. Alot of places around be sharper image stands out above the rest.

I needed a new place. This shop is cool, has reasonable prices and a well-trained and nice staff. It is very accessible, right off the Irving Park Brown Line stop. Bonus is that it also has some great food nearby! read more

Being a new resident of Chicago, I needed to find a good place to get my hair cut. I chose A Sharper Image due to all of the rave reviews here. They did not disappoint. Judith did a wonderful job. She cut my hair to my exact specification, and trimmed my bushy goatee exactly how I wanted it to look. The shop has a nice modern but warm feel to it. They have TVs to watch while your cut is underway. I am looking forward to trying some of their other offerings. The location is so convenient too, just steps from the Irving Park 'L' station (Brown Line). read more

First time in, won't be the last time. The place was fantastic. The staff makes you feel very welcome, there's popcorn and a big screen TV to entertain you if there's a wait. Roxanne did a great job cutting my hair. Since it was my first time in she asked me how I liked my hair cut and then asked if I had preferences or wanted a recommendation on things like blending, neckline and sideburns. The shampoo was amazing, other places I've been will give you a very quick wash, Roxanne took her time and gave a great scalp massage. Top to bottom the place was great. I'd highly recommend you give it a try. read more

Roxy is the best! Been going to her for many years to get my haircut and the service keeps getting better and better. The location is easy to get to and the salon is top notch. I absolutely love this place. Living in Evanston I now come to the city to see Roxanne at A Sharper Image Salon. After having tried almost all the high end shops where $$75-90 just for a haircut and wash is the norm for a guy, and getting 45 minutes of snip snipping around my hair and coming away with no distinctive style, I found this salon on Yelp and was influenced by the ratings. The high end stylists refuse to use a razor when its needed to sculpt the hair. Much to my amazement Roxanne does use a razor to sculpt the hair. You will only be in her chair for about 30 minutes as she is not wasting time trying to fill up an hour to charge $75-90 for the cut. I'm not going to mention what she charges as you might get the wrong opinion of the quality you will receive. No matter how much you earn it doesn't pay to pay high costs for mediocre results just for the privilege of being in a high rent stylist shop with some so-called top name stylist. Roxanne will listen to how you want your hair cut, not what some high end stylist wants to do to your hair. read more
